done. worked on the basis of my old g60 which i had fitted a fmic too and had bought but not fitted an oil cooler.

make sure you have a old bedsheet to cover the engine bay! i used contractors solvent/degreaser from screwfix, spray on and leave for a bit, the credit card or similar to remove. You could use a hairdrier etc, but with a good soaking it should come off fairly easily.

Have a look at this - Very old thread! On my first car I did a flat floor and have used the template since for others.. The foam underneath makes it sit much flatter and means you dont have lumps where wiring comes through..

pretty much.. It's very nice and refined, sounds lovely and drives well, but lacks the agression I enjoyed from the G60's. I've been in [but not driven] a supercharged VR and that felt like it had the same kick the g60 gives you, but with added top end and the noise - wow! you have to go out and drive a couple and get a feel for the dfferences. Personally, i hate the 1.8t engine. I've not driven a rado with one, so there could be an element of fun im missing but i think it sucks. If i were converting a car i'd be going R32.

To throw a spanner in the works.. I've had 3 modified G60's and just bought my first VR6. I'm finding it very boring so far. [however i have just come out of an R32 Rado] It'll either be getting supercharged or sold early next year :lol:

id offer you £300 for it and im sure you can get a bit more. £400-450 to the right person at the right time, but will also depend on location, if youre willing to meet/ship etc and actual condition.

Its a tricky one, as its all down to what someone would offer. Personally, I don't like plates that dont read exactly as they're supposed to, but to someone else it could be worth £500+ :shrug:

You asked, you had answers, you had interest in the engine and then the thread was locked. You can put an advert up for whatever selling price you like FOR FREE. If you are unhappy with the FREE forum, then perhaps google or ebay are better places to look.

save someone elses for dimensions and edit yours down till it matches if you dont have photoshop etc.. i always edit back over my old ones as they were the exact dimensions of the largest size you could have. however since the forum changes, i think you can go bigger than mine again now.

:lol: yup, youve just bought 2 1290mm belts! Aux drive belt does everything on the VR's, 16vs have seperate power steering/aux belts. I bought one recently from gsf and for some reason they gave me a double ribbed belt first time round. Second time got the same one as yours, takes minutes to fit.

no probs, ill get up the garage in the next couple of days and take a few snaps..

If you're in Taunton I would strongly recommend making a trip up to infinity exhausts just the other side of Bristol. For the sake of an hour each way, you will be much much happier with the result.

:lol: my mate bought a house earlier this year who's previous owner had been there all her life and died in her 80s. on the day he moved in we went round for a look and the place looked like it had been untouched for years.. I found a couple of 'dot cotton' menthols on top of the bathroom cabinet, complete with dust on. Put them into my packet and casually pulled one out to offer to him. he took a couple of puffs before working out something was wrong and was dry wretching when i finally broke enough tears to tell him.
