  1. do you have the outlay to buy a car to break? do you have the room to store it? do you have the time & motivation to break it? if yes, then defo go for it! cost effective, you wont find yourself chasing for that odd part and you get to check everything over first.
  2. Welcome! Without sending you away again, check out vwvortex.. Your side of the pond so I'm sure someone will have more of an idea. Watch out though, they eat newbies!!
  3. Check these out.. http://www.garaget.org/?car=211416 Translated build thread!
  4. Other | Green | Bristol Price: 1495 Description: Skoda Fabia Classic 1.2, Manual, 5 Door MOT: July 2013 Tax: July 2013 Mileage: 99000 I am selling my Skoda Fabia due to the purchase of a larger car. It is mechanically very sound, the interior is in great shape and exterior is in average condition, with a few marks around the bumpers/bodywork as expected for a car of the age. I am based in Bristol for viewing/ test drive. £1495 07021537186
  5. NSFW due to ramseys language!
  6. Good to see it again, but the photos are tiny! Email them over if you like and i'll put up bigger copies!
  7. i've sold a few sets in the past few weeks so the garage is looking empty! From memory i'm down to about 6 or 7 sets now! [edit]i'm very tempted by the ZW1's on here too :bonk:
  8. if youre happy to courier etc i'll take em. cheers.
  9. i was at the pub :drinking: i probably didn't read the post properly, just wanted to see pics. without having any idea what style of wheels these are, I have no idea if i want to buy them or not, but can i claim first dibs pending photos?
  10. where in oxfordshire? parcel shelf black or grey?
  11. as above ,its probably just one person bidding against you. use justsnipe and save the hassle. last second bidding ftw.
  12. mk1 skoda octavia is also worth a look..
  13. on the basis i haven't bought a car for them to go in, id say not  i wouldn't want to pay for them until they came to me though, but also wouldn't be upset if they sold to someone else in the mean time. but for £100, im happy for them to sit in my garage instead of yours. let me know..
  14. 996's have had very bad press for expensive issues and a lower price range one isn't going to help. Also factoring having a face only a mother could love and not being quick for the money, it's not a car I would consider. Having said that, if you were planning on keeping one for a few years and can afford the upkeep i think it's getting to be a good time to buy one.
  15. if you can do them for £100 posted [should be about £8 through parcelmonkey, i'll take them and they can sit waiting for matching seats
  16. Ouch. To be honest, I'd say the same, from photos it doesn't look good. You're doing exactly the right thing though, rip it apart, see what you're really looking at. I'd be paying attention to everything else at the same time though, floorpan, windscreen, front chassis legs etc. There's plenty that could be wrong with it! In terms of what I'd do, it depends on what situation you're in, what experience you have, what time/space/money you have available to you and what you want as an end result. There's too many variables really to say. What would you want to transfer from your car to a donor? Would you be better selling everything you have complete or broken to raise funds towards an already tidy car? or a car with good paint that just needs your engine swapped in etc? More questions than answers i'm afraid! Do you come into bristol? I'd take a look around etc, but not sure i'd be able to help with in depth bodywork knowledge!

  18. hard to say bud, 180-200 depending on other factors.. ?
  19. The best I can offer is PSD [pitstop developments] offered SNS stage 5 chips, 250cc would be standard green injectors and the chip was run with a 68mm pulley. If the car still matches this spec then all's good! http://snstuning.co.uk/g60.php
  20. Personally I'd go 195/40 front and 205/40 rear.. You're adding 1 inch wheel width and 1cm tyre width so will still see a slightly higher stretch on the rear..
  21. quite the opposite. i've pushed the boundaries and i'm telling you for experience what will and wont work. if you don't want to listen thats up to you. 195/40/17 on a 9J ET15.. 225/35's @ ET5 WILL NOT WORK!
  22. I wouldn't bother bud, theres no point offering advise to someone who asks for it but doesn't listen to the responses. 20s and 50s wont work. in a couple of weeks there will be a adapters for sale/swap thread.
