  1. from a 'potentially interested' point of view, id really recommend recent and detailed pics bud. considering how long its been sat for id be concerned about coming that far without seeing the worst. if it really is a case of swapping an engine over into a mint shell i am tempted.. cheers baz
  2. oopsy. fast typing = abrupt. pay the extra buy the weitecs.
  3. okay, so heres the very quick answer [im getting ready for work] you are probably thinking that 40/35 etc is the depth of the tyre in mm. it's not, its the percentage of half of the width of the tyre. so a 205/40 actually stands for 205mm divided by two [102.5] times by 40% = 41mm depth. a 245/35 would be 245mm divided by two [122.5] times by 35% = 42.8mm depth. they will actually have a thicker side profile then the old wheels, but not in proportion to the width percentage. hope that makes sense, if not search tyre size calculations or i'll try and reply again after work! Baz
  4. i already answered that!
  5. With all due respect my young padawan with age comes knowledge. 205/50/15 205/45/16 205/40/17 Is the correct route to follow. 205/40/16 would be far too low. I'm on my phone so can't provide the necessary links to show this, but you're way off. However, if he was to go for a 215, then a 40 Profile would be better suited, making your tyres ideal! Oh and btw, your new tyres will have exactly the same profile as the ones youre selling
  6. i'd be very very surprised if they're 6j. these came on a mk3 in 7j and mk4 in 6.5j. mk4 being much more common. on the basis that they're 6.5 they'd be the same as standard corrado wheels so would recommend 205/45/16. if they are 6j i'll eat my hat and then recommend 195/45/16s.
  7. haha im the same, ive just been trying to convince a mate about break his car so i can have his splitter  yeah mines on venoms.. i was going to change them straight away as i wasnt a fan back in the day let alone now, but everyone thats seen them has been so excited about them im tempted to let them stay! :bonk: im sure they'll end up meeting at a show one day, but you know somewhere is far away when you have to google it to see where it is!
  8. thats a bit harsh? wheels can be resprayed why not have some fun? i wouldnt cut up or screw stuff into interior plastics, but each to their own..
  9. Defo flash red.. Clumpy cheated though, I've just taken on his old flash red G60! All looks good, red's a really hard colour to get things to look 'right' on. Colour coding too much stuff doesnt work imo - number plate plinth/grill/handles all need to stay black to break the colour up. I was thinking the bumpstrips would have to stay too but it does look smart with them removed. I'll race you to finding a splitter first, mines missing too
  10. can i be a pain and take the badge and not the vent.. mine is defo early so i went with another option earlier, fitting an early centre pod! cheers baz
  11. Hmm.. i need an early one really, any idea if the late one will fit the early hole? And how much to you want posted to bristol? Price please! Ideally after a chrome one, I might paint mine black to see how it looks  Will get it done this morning! Anyone got a splitter????
  12. looks brilliant bud, you can see its not royal blue now!
  13. Thanks for the praise on my efforts with the car. I'm looking forward to seeing the updates! Officially I still own the dash! last time i saw it, it was above the office at gwerks but i didn't have room to take it home!
  14. if you can that would be great, if you can take one of the vent too.. just thought theres an early and late version.. cheers!
  15. my bad :bonk: IT'S FREE!! Should be a good one, seems to be filling up nicely. I've got some wheels to drop up for powdercoat soon, so may end up meeting up your way but reckon the show would be worth doing anyway!
  16. Done! Same paypal as before? Great stuff, let me know price, pic & paypal by pm please! VW, sorry should have said! Sounds good, Im going to come up your way soonish so could arrange to meet. otherwise are you doing the Berkeley castle show?
  17. Thanks for the comments! It's tough letting it go in a sense, but also great to know it's going to someone who's properly going to love it. Part of me is gutted to see it go so soon, I never even took it to a national show just local meets. It's an awesome awesome car, but not having a garage at home means it just wasn't getting used as much as it should have been, or getting in my way spurring me on to finish bits and bobs off. The G60 has had some amazing engine work done, but styling wise there's a bit I want to change, but that's the stuff I'm good at so I'm looking forward to checking off a list. I'm under no illusion that this car won't stay for life either, but i'm defo going to have some fun with it first.. anyway, that's for the next thread! Cheers, Baz
  18. Small list of parts wanted for new project! 90mm splitter [poss 50] Carpet mats Gearknob gaiter clip [goes under gearknob to hold it together] Parcel Shelf - Black Flash Red Panels - Let me know what you have! Ideally posted to Bristol or collection if you're not a million miles away. No silly prices please, I'm very tight  Cheers Baz
  19. Over the past few weeks i'd been in talks with a potential new owner of my car. He's a forum member, having purchased a G60 earlier in the year. Behind the scenes we've been doing a lot of work on putting together a PX deal and last night met up on the M6 to do the exchange. James is a great guy and very proud new owner of J160 XAR. And I still get to keep a Corrado  I'll start a build thread for the new one soon and no doubt James will post up here once he's recovered from his 600+ mile round trip down from Scotland! Until then, here's the last couple of pics from change over evening. James - great meeting you in person last night, hope the journey home wasn't too tiring! The G60 performed well on the way home, looking forward to getting the bits and bobs sorted. You have to be a proper car nut to take on a car at this level, I salute you. :salute::salute::salute:
  20. Andy can you do me a regulars discount on the bonnet!? Could come up one evening this week if that suits.. Cheers Baz
  21. you in a hurry to get this done? im up your way saturday but realistically probably wont have chance to stop by. i do need to come back up in the next couple of weeks to drop some wheels off in birmingham for powdercoat. could defo arrange something around that?
