Yeah you aint kidding Chris! Had the wheels balanced today and on both sides the drive shaft gators have split???? I am at a complete loss on that one? anyone have any ideas? Hoping to get it back on the garage next week to get it sorted sold urs yet?

It was done by SWICT in Bristol, install looks good and i have a few points as listed to go through. It dod take 7 months when i was told 2! so aside from a neat looking install if you get them to do anything, make sure you tie them down on timescale. Cost wise i had loads of stuff fitted as the car was completely standard so exactly how much difficult to say

Now finished at last! Have a massive flat spot in 2nd and a few other niggles to sort out like the very brutal drive by wire accelerator pedal! however it goes like fook Just got to work out how to stop a bit quicker the 280's just dont seem to drag it back down quickly or safely enough! The powder coated wheels are actually darker than standard however look lighter in the pictures Initial thoughts are very very quick, not very refined and hard to drive around town, but quality on the open roads. Need to get the accelerator pedal re mapped, battery relocated into the boot & another fan put in the bay as it does get pretty hot! Aside from that i need a strut brace and will maybe have to buy some new tyres for bigger brakes if i dont start to stop a bit quicker!! rgds James

Christ, i know the other owner & had this car to drive for 2 months, awesome car! I have a load of pictures from when he last owned it and it was for sale. Compared to my vr it was a lot quicker 7 its what inspired me to buy a corrado! That was approx 5-6 years ago i think. rgds James

you can re locate the battery to the boot, that will give you some more space. I have had this done: 50 quid approx if some one does it for you

I have a vr6 and am just about to replace the whole of the suspension & associated parts, plus the exhaust. Could you guys please offer some advice on which suspension, associated parts & exhaust to choose. I am thinking Magnex exhaust. Koni t/a's and H&R Springs. I am looking to replace the whole of the ride so if anyone has any advice on associated parts bump stops etc that would be good also. I would like to lower the car, but will be keeping the standard alloys & putting some decent tires on soon. Cheers James

Background :- 4 replaced heater control panels on warranty from vw due to faulty workmanship or lack of knowledge on corrados. The story goes :- After not using the air con in the car for several months, i found that it wasnt working and only hot air was coming out??!! So i decided to go to the local vw dealership and find out what was wrong with the air con. After an investigation into the problem the stealers decided that i would need a heater box for the car at a cost of £893.05 inc vat!! (quote enclosed). The chap did say that if i bought the part i could get it fitted elsewhere, but the part would be warrantied (12 hours of labour required). On the off chance i thought i would contact Keith at A/C engineering in Surrey as he had previously done some work for me to see what he thought. Drove up there saw him, analysed fault and asked me to come back and leave the car for the day. Got back there the next week and left the car with him. Keith phones up 2 hours later and says the car is finished!! Some slight adjusting and evaporator needed re-mounting at a total cost of £60, plus 2 tanks of petrol (receipt enclosed). How the fuck can the dealers get away with over charging by this much? surely this is something that shouldnt be happening & how can people get the prognosis for a job so wrong? Big shout out for Keith at A/C Engineering in Chertsey, Surrey, he is the man and really knows his stuff. Really not sure where i should go from here, but i dont think that i should let it lie, what do you think?
