We update, looks like it’ll be heading to Stealth in the coming weeks. Regards Fraser

Had a look at the cables and they all look fine. Unfortunately there are also noises now from the gearbox so i think something inside has gone. There’s a fair chance ill remove the gearbox myself which I’m not looking forward to then send it away. Fraser

Tonight driving home, I was accelerating onto the motorway fairly hard and something decided to fall apart in third. Once I pulled back off the motorway I then discovered no 1st 2nd 3rd or reverse. The gear stick won’t even go into reverse 1st or 2nd. It will go into 3rd but nothing seems to be there. Any ideas as to what went pop? Regards Fraser

Oh that rad support panel looks lush! I so wanted that to have been for sale when i visited you. Looking good. Fraser

As stated above. I’m looking for a set of 16inch wheels that will fit over the tarox 6pots i have on my car-ideally without any spacers. I have read on here that compomotive th2s would fit in 16x7 et25. But not been able to check for myself. Regards Fraser

Handbrake light intermittently going on and off
KARMANN replied to KARMANN's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Had a quick check of the brake fluid this morning before i left for work. It’s just below the minimum. So that’ll be the reason why. Now to find out where it has gone-ill check those areas for fluid. Fraser -
Handbrake light intermittently going on and off
KARMANN replied to KARMANN's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Ahh, ill check that! As when i was sitting stationary without the handbrake on and pumped the brakes it flickered a few times! Top man Sean-i shall report back. Fraser -
Today whilst driving my handbrake light started to go on and off, most when cornering or hitting bumps. Most probably a loose connection. But i was wondering if that light is used for anything else, ie to highlight another fault. It still works as should when operating the handbrake. Any suggestions? Cheers Fraser

Stanford Hall 6th May 2018
KARMANN replied to Rocket Ron's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
I’m still working out what road trips i want to do. Ideally id like a euro trip but the threads on the 30th anniversary meets aren’t really finalised. I went to VW Festival in 2016 and thought it was great. I now have a little girl and working out if a trip down myself without the family is the way to go. So this event may be the one to attend for a change. Fraser -
Looking for a later window mechanism for my drivers side. Regards Fraser

Strimmer, pm me some pictures and details of the wheels and what your looking for them. Fraser
-
These are a great upgrade. I have them on my car. Strimmer, do they defo fit under 16s? As I’m running 17s but also want a set of 16s but just presumed they wouldn’t clear the calipers. Fraser
-
That would be great if you could let me know. Thanks F

As above folks, anyone got one for sale? Thought its worth a try before i send mine off to get done. Fraser

Jamie_300. I will take some pictures of the spoiler in the coming days. 1xshaunx1 perfect, I will check out the cooling guide, theres something not right with the cooling. I never have any issues, but the car can get pretty hot when dotting around in traffic. Also from time to time on a cold start the water temp warning light will flash immediately and stay on. sometimes switching the car off then on again will solve this. SeanL they are a marmite wheel at the best of time, im really just looking for something that's easier to clean, but still has a little bit of rareness about them. I did like the CHs that were originally on the car but they were far too wide. The LMs are great, but constanly need cleaned and the lips need polished at every wash. Daves16v, Classic green is an awful colour to make stand out. In the sunlight, not every panel looks green, and in poor light its near impossible to say what colour the car is. I machine polished the paint on this car and it certainly has helped, still needs painting though. The classic green on SeanLs car looked great compared to mine at VW Festival last year. After I machine polished mine the colour really did shine through. I was parked next to an excellent example of a green storm recently and my paint really stood out. I think its a colour that losses its intensity over time. Fraser

I posted on a FB page at the beginning of the year that I was looking for some, then just a few weeks ago I got a message from Poland, and the deal was done. I'm not sure about the what the brown sensor is for-all I know is that the one supplied didn't fit. The LMs aren't for sale yet

Another little update on the car. Firstly, thanks for all the nice comments. I went on a 900 mile four day tour of the North Coast 500 (We added in some other good driving roads). The car performed brilliantly, a few days before it I did however change the temp sensors for the fan. Had an issue with the brown one, VW heritage send one out that requires a different type of connector. I still have not sorted that out. Anyway, after the 500 I decided to remove the rear lights and go back to standard. I also fitted a Spoonfed rear spoiler, and finally I removed the LMs and fitted a set of Nothelles. They took about 6 months to source but I think they were worth the wait. Manged to find a set of 5x100 ET35. VRTRIZZ Yes we spoke last year at Glamis, you going again this year? Still got that massive turbo bolted to your car? I will attach some pictures of the car a week before the NC500 trip at a local VW meet, RETRO VW SCOTLAND. And I will also attach some pictures of the car as it stands now on the Nothelles.

Hi folks, looking for part number for the three sensors including the o rings and clips. Can anyone help me out? Regards Fraser

Hi folks, thought I would add in a little update on the car and add a few pictures. As the dark winter months drew in, I decided to fit a set of inpro front lights for the winter. I have an uprated loom fitted but these really did help. Not sure im sold on them though, as they are cheaply built and the design is for the earlier cars. So I suspect they will be coming off again the next few weeks. I also purchased a set of smoked rears, again, these may well be removed for the summer. The car pretty much sat outside all winter as we were extending our house, so the garage became the workers tool store. I also ventured onto Knockhill with it, I must say , I can see why people become addicted to track days. I took it very easily around the circuit, the thought of kerbing a wheel or spinning off terrified me. I did however make the most of the straights, not a thing could keep up with it in a straight line. I was utterly impressed considering there was allot of powerful modern machinery, RS3s, M3s, M4s, Subarus and a Honda NSX (THE OLD ONE). Plans for the car this year, are to use it as much as possible and continue working through fixing anything that pops up. Im doing the north coast 500 in may, with a few friends, they will be on bikes and another friend will be in a TVR Tuscan. Fitted a new crank position sensor during the week, fiddly as hell using a little allen key.

No, I'm keeping the BBS, but fancy having something else with a big face. Nothelles fit the bill. Coullstar, I think I know the fellow your talking about. He was advertising a MK3 bumper and I notice the wheels in the background of the picture, I asked but he said they weren't for sale. Martin, I think we would need to go halfs on Goldies set! I still really want to set his car in the flesh though!! Fraser

As above folks, looking for a set of nothelles in 17inch. If anyone knows of a set for sale please point me in the right direction. Fraser
-
I have one, £20 if you can collect from just outside Glasgow. Fraser
-
It copes with the power surprisingly well. It used to have 8.5inch wide wheels with stretched tyres. It struggled a bit with those. I'm now running 7.5 with appropriately wide tyres and its fine. It has a Quaife LSD which also helps. In the wet or moist ground it'll definitely spin its wheels through the gears. Fraser

Hi folks, thanks for the comments. Hi Nick, no the spoiler isn't stuck up, it was only up for cleaning before the pictures. Hi Scott, if I remember correctly I think it was a Russian website I got them from. To be honest the cost a fortune and it was a bit of a leap of faith as I cant read Russian. I've still to fire some pictures up of VW festival last week. Had a great time on the Saturday, sorry i never managed to chat to everyone. Some great cars though! Fraser

Looking for a set of Inpro headlights, with the black background. Even if anyone can point me in the right direction to purchase. Regards Fraser
