Ok, after a little bit of research it appears that out of the back of the headunit the blue wire is switched live for the aerial. Failing that what colour/colours are switched live from ignition? Brown/red? Fraser

I think it's a Hirschmann one I've fitted from dabonwheels. Nice and OEM looking. That would be great if you could find a wiring diagram as it never came with any and the headunit instructions don't show anything either. The fm and dab are both done, just the switched live to do. Fraser

Hoping somebody can help me. I have the car off the road just now while I address lots of little issues and have bodywork sorted. I fitted a new bee sting aerial today, which has fm, dab and also requires a switched live feed. I'm wondering where the best options are to get the switched live from-radio or fusebox or elsewhere? And what colour of wires I'm looking for? Cheers Fraser

Long term I'm thinking LMs, possibly soon. I have been looking at those two sets for a few months. Especially the 090s. The issue I have is the brakes that are on the car, they are pretty big. I think spacers will be required but don't really want to then stretch the tyres just to get them away from the arches. Fraser

Perfect Bill thank you. I have not managed to get into the garage to check current tyre sizes as per our PM the other day. The car is just back from the body shop and currently has no glass so it has to stay in there until the rain stops. Regards Fraser

There's a good chance I will take these brackets off you anyway. Could you pm me a price? God don't tempt me with door cards please!! Fraser

Hi James, yeah the cars been good. Useless in the wet weather though. It's just back from the body shop getting all the rust cut away and fixed. So it's in the garage ready to go back together, but I'm wanting to address any issues while I'm putting everything back on it. If I change the radiator, I will go for and aluminium one, will these brackets fit or would it only fit the standard VW rad? I noticed Vaghag had to get a special bracket from Chrisl for his radiator. Fraser

Going to replace the radiator in the VR, the current one has a slight leak that the top. Thinking about an aluminium one. Has anyone fitted one or could recommend any particular one to fit? I see there are millions on eBay. I would also consider fitting one that comes with fans. Any help appreciated. Fraser

Looking good. Fraser

Does anyone have link to a data list of BBSLMs? Pretty much lists all the different sizes offsets etc. I seen it somewhere but can't remember where. Regards Fraser
-
Not sure if this can be done, I accidentally deleted all my PMs but really wanted to hold on to one. Is it possible to have them restored? Regards Fraser

I also have a rear screen, perfect condition. Based just outside Glasgow. Fraser

This has been a good little read, good to see the effort you have put in. After reading through the first 4 pages I suddenly thought, I know that registration! Was/is this car from Linlithgow? I used to see it parked near a MK2 Golf. Regards Fraser

Hi Sean, I'm happy to have routed through the chassis hole and add the plug myself. I take your word that it's easy to do. Fraser

Brilliant, looking forward to this! Fraser

I purchased a complete front indiscreet seal set from a guy called Rejel on eBay for £35. He doesn't always have them listed so best to send him a message. Fraser

Mk3 sunroof and other sunroof repair observations

MikeVR6-yes I'm on there, joined a few months back. There's a MK3 unit on eBay I'm going to buy, so just checking it fits. My mechanism has been repaired before but needs a little adjustment. Fraser -

Does anyone know the part number for the Mk3 golf motor that will fit a storm? Cheers Fraser -
Yeah, I'll not be adding rad seal to the engine. The car goes in to the body shop tomorrow and I'll be switching the bumper over once it's back. I'm tempted to replace the rad with an aluminium one. Anyone got any experiences with them? Fraser
-
Yeah drop me a message once your done with your original one. If I have not found a solution by then I would be interested. Fraser
-
Seanl82, are you selling the handbrake cover? Is it in cream? If so I would be interested. Fraser

That's good to hear Cressa. I presume to bend it you removed the part from the sunroof and bent it in a fashion so it sits down flush again? Fraser

Kris, I have recently came back to Corrado ownership after 8 years away. I believe it was you I sold my mint Aqua Blue VR6 to. I have been through many supposedly more 'exotic' cars since then. Even still, I could not shake the hankering for another Corrado when it came time to have a play thing. I'm not sure if you know what happened to the aqua blue one I sold you but after some searching I found pictures of it from about 2014 and it's quite different to how I remember it. Regards Fraser

Is this still working? I stripped my car today and have exactly the same problem as you had. Did you bend the edge of the channel to fix this or the spring mechanism? Cheers Fraser
-
No problem, I will keep an eye on it. There's a slight leak at the top of the rad and I have noticed that the temps can hit 100-110c in traffic. Fraser
