  1. maybe when its charged! Wife swap sounds awsome, swop cars for the day too if you like ;-)
  2. i didnt think flat reds were lacquerd, hence the problem?? ie thats why they fade and thats why t-cut works? anyway, once you've sorted the blobs Jim, go for a decent wax pot from zymol or swissol mate, about £30. I know its expensive but it won't happen with a layer or proper wax on there. Basically exactly what Phat said. tiz very different from the £10 stuff halfrods do. Meguires carnuba is the closest youll get from them.
  3. or you can come to vw specialist i work at in salisbury on sat mornings and if your lucky it wouldnt be me working on it lol. seriously want a go in your 60 btw!
  4. they still had 2 sets of konigsports left at the old price 10 days ago but its over your 350 budget. if you go shocks and springs the PI springs are very comfy for a 40mm drop, not as harsh as H&Rs beleive it or not and they are -35mm and much more expensive :-) cant go wrong with Darren's advice though tbh, im sure hes been there and done it with all the suspension there is!
  5. Having now read all of this thread i dont think making it your own car is a problem at all. There is a danger that someone may start adding lots of crome etc to it to that end, but i hope not, its not that kind of car imo, its seems above all that if that makes any sense. if i had it it would be wheels, plates and possibly front seats. and as for: how can you sell it? Its catch 22, but I can't see anyone thats willing to give as much to a project as that, complete it and then think cool, job done i'll just enjoy it from now on! I suspect you'd go round the bend without something to work on. be nice to keep it but im guessing your not a millionaire!
  6. Blimmey, what a thread!! Hope the offer was over 10k as i think its worth it. Your basically buying a brand new car that looks like a corrado and i'd imagine compliments all the good bits and has done away with all the bad bits. Brakes and torque being the tip of the iceburg! Plus i bet its screwed together a feck sight better than anything thats come out of the VW factory recently! The attention to details is certainly only acheivable by fastidiously handfinishing everything. Top car and top bloke thats not up his own a.. Hope you stay in touch and keep us posted on the new beastie!
  7. can allways stick a corrado badge on it lol if its a good car its a good car, but it looks big and heavy and even with the 3.2 id imagine we are looking at nothing new in the performance stakes. The everyday one should be the 32, the proper one should be the new 36 or at least the 32 with some FI. If its a flagship coupe it should be the quickest ever. Not that id say no to one, and perhaps if its all made of carbon and weighs less than a tonn ill eat my words, but i think it will be nothing new, other than looks. I like it, that low with those wheels, to look at anyway.
  8. Nice choice, you well love it straight away no question. I've had 1 mk1 8v and 4 mk2 8vs. and one mk2 16v which i hated! PICKS PICKS PICKS!
  9. pmsl! thats the kind of thing i do!
  10. Nick, try Vagparts in swindon, they can get them for about £30 a side. And no, they are £40 each from the stealer, unless mine are ubber stealers. Theres more to them than you think, but definately not £40s worth still! i dont know if GSF do them btw, they may well do so worth checking first.

    PI suspension

chris (2cc) has them on his vr, with koni shcoks. ride is better than h&rs and they are 5mm at least lower, been in both set ups. basically they rock! Cant speak for PI shocks though bud, no idea there.
  12. but my pistons slap!! are you desperate for one double 6 ?? if you are ill leave it. dont want to be fighting with another forum dude and why didnt you sell me your charger :-(
  13. was hoping nobody else had seen this! may the best man win :-) Im not going mad as i need a head job more than a bottom end ;-)
  14. Trig, more wheels on the way! You may be in luck soon, you know my fetish's too well lol. Cant beleive i sold the oet's, bit gutted in hindsight :-(
  15. I saw another corrado VR6 today with the Vento cup wheels on  Not telling you where though! OBD2 ventos rule!
  16. cant wait to see it bud, choice subtle mods! Great price, looking at 2.5k round me for a windows still in full respray!!!!
  17. my heater controlls went tits a few weeks back, but hey its summer, who needs em just crack the windies open :-)
  18. There were 3 cars on my list of affordable (sighs!) sporty cars for around 5k 18mnths ago C VR6 Nissan 200sx Fiat Coupe 16T or 20vT I got the S14 200 to start with, took the boost up to about 260/270 but hated its complete lack of character, and all or nothing performance, certainly shat myself on a few wet roundabouts! It was reliable but felt fragile if that makes sense. Only had it 2months. Then bought the C because i wanted some solid build back and because i didnt like the sound of the fiat cambelt bill which most need or were coming up to. Oh how that seems insignificant now!! Blooming nippy number though, 5pots even sound nice, but ancilleries fail regularly accordingto a mate who has one. They are ubber bargain money now though for what you get, but why so cheap you have to ask !
  19. GIT Haywire, i want them back NOW ! They look rubbish, you should'nt have them.
  20. Neil, same as Zipp, wish i had your patience! top job fella.
  21. Wow, this sounds familier. I've now spent more than i paid for the car on it in the 13mnths ive had it, but the fact is i love it, and couldnt afford to get rid of it now. The other half said a few months back, i thought you'd said that you'd fixed ...... now so why are you still fiddling with the car every weekend. BECAUSE ITS A HOBBY! Not just transport, or id have a 2yr old 1.0 polo and door other people instead! I'd say you've been lucky with only problem fault being the rack at the end of the day! Great to here your after another, and ill admit there are good and bad'ns.
  22. I have no personal expirience, but everyone ive spoken too that have had eibach springs say they are very very hard and crashy. Aks Dinkus, he had them on his VR and changed to H&Rs. You could try PI springs, they have more of a drop than the H&Rs 40mm rather than 30-35 and the ride is absolutely fantastic. The PIs are more like 80 squids which is about 50 less than the H&Rs if iirc. 2cc has them and they are fab.
  23. Yours is WELL within what is normal for a corrado VR6 IMO mate.
  24. I think the corrado is a wierd creature, having owned 3 vrs now a passat est, vento (still) and the C. Both the other 2 acted exactly the same, normal driving 90c on the oil (MFA), ring its neck for an hour and you might go just over 100 but it takes some doing!. Both sat bang on mid water temp gauge, only rising slightly when sat in traffic. Every corrado ive been in however totally different. faster you go the hotter the oil gets, period. Revs = heat . Mine used to sit 110 at 70 114 at 80 118/120 at 90 but water allways on 90. Sit in traffic, oil drops eventually to 100 and water rises to over 100 bouncing back down with the fans. I dont think they have sufficient cooling caviat "compared to other VRs". But parhaps its still fine? I fitted the mocal which kept all the same caracteristics, but all the oil readings are now 10+ lower.
