that looks like some very heavy work, any more picks?
-
:thumb right: Life is all about priorities !
-
Thanks Chris, only difference being i'm driving like an old man and Lippy's giving it some monty, lol! Defo do a track day next year. The only time i stop buying bits is when i get a call from the credit card company or the wife actually physically knocks me out!
-
i know about the engine you get! will be the only brand spanker vag engine on here prob! im still after a head to rebuild if you havnt found your original buyer yet btw? Yeah, good idea, some aftermarket zorsts are literaly about a 5th the weight of the original! my miltec was, that would save a lot too. And light wheels help. Loose the spare obviously, i never run with one ever, and thats only an mot fail if the is a spare in the car and the tyres duff. take it out and throw it away and they cant fail it lol!
-
sounds right to me, kit cars only have that, and theres no airbag issues. sounds like a great idea!! great fun, what motors going in the black one then??
-
Dont see why you cant loose all but the drivers seat, the front seats being massively heavy, and even the upright rear section aint light! That would probably be enough to notice when driving jsut about! Rear wiper motor and rear wiper bye bye, another couple of kilos. You can get carbon bonnets, and glass is very heavy, you could replace some of them with perspex maybe?? Are we talking track day adventures you loon!??

mate that s.cks. main thing is your back now, just got to find you a doner 60. I'll keep my eye out around here for you.
-
£40-50 pm here mate. people tend to snapp them up from outa town as parking is £5+ a day for work. Which makes it seem like a bargain to some.
-
Yeah, its obviously well sorted. Makes my a.. twitch seeing a rear drive car cornering at those kind of speeds!! I love the sound on the two external shots!
-
Be nice if they did charge 67 plus here !!

I have learnt an awful lot about my engine from the people and posts on here. There are still some that scare me like Chris's latest Hyrdo Dynamics comment  Although not in their league i still tend to assume everyone knows generally about compression, stroke, turbos, chargers, valves, cams etc and how they can increase power and/or torque. However, if you don't, i think this explains everything really well, hey i understand it! http://www.alfaboxertuning.fws1.com/ Yes, i know its Alfa related, but the theory still stands! Not trying to teach about eggs and sucking, but i'll admit i knew sh.t when i started on here, and worse still i thought i did  I'm not naming you all, but there are plenty on here that will not need to read this :notworthy:

Vince will definately be able to map it without problem i'm sure. Be interesting to see what he makes of it, although he may well of done one before. I'm going to go for a Vortech because im a girl and i l know he has those down to a fine art now and the work very well. Nice to see you trying something less common. Also be cool to see if its quiet/noisey etc, assuming its not a ribbed belt?
-
yeah thats certainly no bad add for the charger is it! Quite jelous and very interested to see what she runs then. Be nice to see some picks of the snail when she turns up :-)
-
Ah yes i remember now, that was some rubbish luck bud, was really sorry for you when i read that. Especially as you;d literally just had her all mapped up. Sods law. Lets hope you get a good price for the Z and some good map figures for the new puppy. jeeezous, thats well cheap for any kind of new charger isnt it??!! any idea on the likely boost ?? and thats 2000 posts for me, one for every £3.00 ive spent on my stupid car since i signed up :-( (and still no charger) grrrrr.
-
Wow, this sounds very interesting. Where did you pick the beastie up? I assume your expecting good things from it then, if your already running a ZR-1 and changing for this!! Have you spoken to Vince about this and will he map it for you?
-
Nice one, and yeah plates don't come much better than that! Lovely car with all the choice extras you lucky get!
-
Sam, looks awsome mate, very classy and purposeful indeed!! Cant wait to see it fitted for e38 ??
-

That is cool! Looks like it would decapitate ants! -
so how did you get it to fit if it was 40mm out!!?? thats was about what mine was, but a sledge hammer wouldnt have sorted that amount! i was asuming youd taken the plastic curved bits out first time round ?
-
is it a vr6 and is it smoking all the time, under load at high revs or on the over run? latter would just be the valve guides. Not sure on the exhaust though?
-
Dont waist your time on the one you have you will never get it to fit!
-
mate get on to Morris, but dont fire one at him. Hes the nicest guy you could ever meet and is very hot on customer service as his business now is more for the love of the game than the money. He had a particularly tight batch last time, and my car was at the narrow end of the scale giving me exactly what you have 30-40mm problem. His supplier is to blame i beleive so he swopped it out for a mk3 item which is 40mm narrower, fitted perfectly. Infact he came to me and fitted it for me!! its frustrating but i guarantee Moris will sort you out no question!
