Sub installed...........and room for the shopping!
NickVR6 replied to Storm Monkey's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Dave, can you describe the clamp as im not keen on drilling any bodywork, which is whats been holding me up. Ive made some carboard templates and im going to try and do the whole lot in mdf. Think ive got everything i need, other than knowledge! Im going with a 10 as ill probably loose some volume with the inner bit being mdf it wont be as close fitting to the near side inside, does that make sense!? Anyway clamp? and any other advice much apreciated. Jigsaw is in hand! -
I second that, although the wife would disagree off topic, but my god your cars looks the dogs swf !

Heads up on prices Sorry i forgot to say, if anyone is thinking of going FK word is that they have just upped prices. This seems to be true shopping around with most Konig quotes i got breaking the £600 mark now with ease. However, i managed to get them from Venom who have a few sets left bought in at the old price, which was nice! No idea if they've changed the design with the price rise though, but i dont really care. If id had to pay over 600 i would have gone with H&R or Koni coilies anyway!
-
Noticed only one Konigsport owner so far. I've just bitten the bullet and bought a set of these to replace my koni and H&Rs as i want to run just a tad lower. I hope im not making a mistake but i will report back soon as they are on. As for the Koni and H&R set up i wont bang on about it as its been said, they are a great everyday compromise....BUT i also fitted lowered spring caps, only 10mm extra drop but they have ruined the ride! Chris (2cc) has PI springs and Koni Ta's, and his ride is fantastic it really is, and the car looks much lower than mine even with the spring caps!

Rub my rhubarb I didn't expect quite so many comments!! My original target was a set of ABT's lol, thinking the Oets were hard to find, then they popped up! Why does my car sit so much higher on koni/H&R then anyone elses ffs, and im as low as poss on the back with lowered caps at the front!!?? Anyways, im really stuck which way to go still not a hardship really though  Ill stick um on tommorrow and post a pick, but i know im not going to like the oets without the polished look agreed. Costs too much to have done tbh, how easy is it to do yourself without cocking up the finish in the centre, which is first rate at the mo! You hav'nt made me an offer yet trigg!!
-
Trig mate, gutted for you, one bute of a car too. Really hope you sort this amigo, and no harm in trying tescos. If you assume your not going to get out, anything will be a bonus. I wouldnt go for a full respray, but if they have to order paint theres allways some left over, so take the chance to get anything you want colour coded done or if there are other little niggles do the lot. At least then you'll end up with something better to show for it making good out of bad. I know if it was me it would just be the stress of getting it sort properly in the first place though. Price sounds good compared with quote ive had round here btw!!

suprised at the speedline love actually, i love em but they look rubbish in pictures. I am literally 50/50 at the mo!
-
Twas yours i was drooling over at E38 mate! Despite feeling rougher than a badgers r's i just couldnt get them out of my head! Then these popped up for a barg price. No polished rim though which has bu..ered me off, as i cant afford to get it done.
-
 Done it again and fleeced the Germans out of some shiney metal, for about the price of one of the tyres over here lol, and they are literally unmarked :D Unforunately I wanted a polished rim but they are gunmetal coloured all over Anyways, the tyres are 215 45 17 SP9000s 2 of which have 9mm of tread if anyone know anyone that wants um. I can't afford to keep both so my question is.......... Speedline (with my sensible oem+ hat on) ? Oettingers for the summer (with my bling hat on) ? i think that merc would actually look really cool, hanging from a cable 20 feet above the dance floor in a 70s disco
-

saw an s2 estate for 4k last week, now thats a dog carrier! also makes the C look cheap to run though id imagine. passat vr6 estate? My missus has a vento vr6, and nothing has EVER gone wrong with it!! and it has obd2 and 288s (until the next time she goes to stay with her mum lol) huuuuuuuuuuuuuge boot too!
-
lol, look like chess boards. that poker is slammmmmed!
-
mine was rubbish fit, nowhere near right on the lambda. Vince had to move the lambda by about 3 inches to get it right, i just have no idea how they can get them that wrong! However, i didnt go back to the seller which i should have and im sure in my experience he would have been cool. Also, as you can see in this thread already, they fit bang on on g60s and valvers from people ive spoken to, they just cant get the vr right.
-
mate who did you buy it off?
-
if it was my car i wouldnt want it back. givem there dues they gave him a new car which is cool. everyone makes mistakes. sh.t, and im doing my sat job at the garage tommorrow!
-
its not leaking fuel from the two fuel pipes to the rail is it? mine was but they sealed when it got hot. blocked injector? noisey fuel pump? sorry im not much help, but thats all happend to mine!
-
loads of torque! cant beat that flat siz sound either agreed!! natural progression it seems from a raddo, im very jelous! last of the classic shape butes aswell, understated but loads of character! i even love the plain no messing dials and dash. ill see what he says about the problems. seem to remember each age has its own qwirks, one having an expensive oil seal that allways goes iirc will defo sort some info bud
-
i would say beware wet roundabouts, but its a 4 so your "relatively safe". Looks flocking cheap for a 91. Im no expert, but my wifes brother worked as the service manager for porsche for 6 yrs at a main dealer. ill give him a buz tommorrow and ask him what all the commmon faults are and post you run down tommorrow. Doubt he'll be much good on prices though. Looks like they go on condition more than age etc mate
-
can you fit standard glass to them though? i often wondered because i thought that might look quite cool. oem, except when the rings light up?
-
old man had these on his mk4 anni, and they scabed up in 8 months with careful washing and no curb action, he was not impressed. and i was suprised from bbs. think they need spacers on the C dont they anyway?
-
you can stay there Kev until you pay your bill
