  1. think im going to get you 2 to do my avatar for me, nice! Mines on 127,000, 15000 of which ive put on there since feb. And ive put another 4000 on, on my credit card, lol.
  2. ha, phil, beat me to it on the rear lenses
  3. Nice mate, only thing im not sure on are the all red rears, but thats being rather picky, weet looking motor. I am thinking of doing my RH centres body colour, but need someone to photoshop em before i take the plunge. Just thought it might be e bit diff?
  4. Im sure ive seen some 220 N/A VR figures on some peoples sigs, with schrick manifolds and cams, although the mani is more about torque. I'd like to see some serious head work on a VR and some power figures. Not sure why nobody in general seams to go that route, is the cooling probs with the VR waterways on 1 & 6?? Im thinking of putting a p&p head on mine to fill the 10yr "save up for a charger" gap! But if thats going to give me an extra 5hp i'll stick with my smokey overun thanks!
  5. yeah, come down to no rice with bristol baron. id love to see it!
  6. mate, where did you get the rocker cover? And how much difference did the head make and the chip? cheers Nick
  7. Bally, I love your car! Its what mine should look like. Maybe one day!
  8. Cheers Phat, fecking wierd place to put the controller isnt it! What sort of money would the panel be second hand then, just an idea will do?
  9. Sorry guys, this is in relation to the old mans MK4 1.8t GTI, hope you don't mind. Basically the first symtom was the climate control not firing the fan on straight away when you turn it up. The delay got longer over a few weeks until now sometimes it never kicks in the fan at all (regardless of temp setting). Also now when he starts the car the lcd display panel lights up all of the lcd characters if that makes sense, and they take a while before showing the proper display of fan and temp settings etc. Final prob now is the battery keeps going flat if he doesnt use it for 2 days. Again, intermitent! He is convinced this is all linked and perhaps an earth orsomething is dodgey at the back of the climate display. Anyone had experience of this (Jim?). He is reluctant to go near the dealer, having had far worse experiences than me. They will prob just charge him £200 to plug it in and tell him theres nothing wrong with it anyway. But it needs sorting as he cant de-mist, or start it with a flat battery every other morning! Cheers guys
  10. I think its part of the sunroof mechanism.
  11. i did clay bar it first, then tried normal polish and it just made it shiney pink. You need the polisher imo, as you actually have to take the oxidized layer off to get to the paint underneither. I actually dont know what you do if its got clear lacquer on though, i assumed my passat wasnt lacquerd!?
  12. this is how it looked afterwords, not a great pick, but it was virtually white to start with!!
  13. Electric polisher mate, and just put normal polish on it. I had a whitey/pink passat same colour as yours. Bit of autoglym super resin olish and a days worth of motorised polishing and it came up like new! Its easy enough, you just dont press too hard and take your time. I did the fidley bits with a rag and proper t cut, then polished those manually. The tcut is too much for the polisher, it would eat too much surface off imo. Totally transformed an almost white car!! If i have the time after xmas i could give you a hand.

    Coolant Loss

Also worthy for future note is the hose that runs from back of head to matrix, leaks at the head end. Also the stat housing. If they are original they will be next to go.
  15. Mental illness is not to be laughed at. I just hope they get some help before its too late.
  16. 77777cusgti, Kevs link is good for new prices. I've just picked up a set of ZW1 from german ebay for a whole lot less though. Worth having a nose in ebay.de, they do come up reasonably often. Grade A is a top translater too! 1. BBS LE MANS, if you could get them in 17" 2. RH ZW1s - obviously 3. Borbet C (think they really suit the C) 4. Atev As, but never seen them sit right on a C 5. Porche splits
  17. Looks mint mate, nice find! I agree they feel slower than the c, less punchy when i drove one. Different car though, and a good one at that.
  18. I use mine every day. and to be absolutely honest the only things that have gone wrong have been when i break something fiddling! They have a few quirks and i've spent a shed load of money (for me anyway) on mine, but only on stuff ive wanted to do to make it beter or refresh things back to how they were when new. I think if you do the basics they are pretty bullet proof. Just annoyingly expensive little things like the heater controls, expensive hose etc that get my back up.
  19. How you undertake that sort of trim work yourself just amaziz the sh.t out of me! What do you charge for a bespoke one off retrim then corpheites?!!
  20. It sounded nice too. It is clearly a work in progress, and hey, i've got respect for anyone that puts that kind of effort in to anything. When i can barely fit a an air freshner to mine with out breaking something! All you guys deserve much respect whether its to an individuals personal taste or not. Not sure its one of my favs right now, but it looks like its going to be awsome when its finished. And it does look a heeeeep better in the flash
  21. 2 questions really. 1. Why does every single program i've ever seen on tv featuring the corrado allways state that the rear spoiler comes up at 45 miles per hour, when mine comes up at 55? 2. When people take static shots of their C's, why 95% of the time do they put their rear spoiler up? although i have to admit to getting a kick out of people following me in the morning and pointing when it pops up (oh err missus), I really think parked up it looks cack and untidy. Is it to prove that it works? Assume this is a personal taste thing, and i'm prepared to be shot down in flames
  22. very very nice! Its going to rock like a big rock type thing with those borbies and that drop. Picks asap please!! Whats the steering wheel, looks classy and interior looks minty mint
  23. Thanks guys, very useful info from all. Will be taking phats advice re the seal, as the vag pipe is in stock and i need the car for thursday. After xmas, i will defo be ordering one of those metal pipes, wow they look good! Most of the VRs water system seems to be below par as standard imo.
  24. Not exactly what i said at the time, but it looks like as usual, i'm my cars own worst enemy  Fitted my gauge unit, all wired up including the sender unit nicely in place. Thought i'd just give it one last tweak  and caught some wierd little hose that pokes out of a long plastic pipe on the front of the block. I only just touched it and the plastic pipe disintigrated. Having just heated the car fully up to temp (changing oil) and previously flushing and filling with G12 it was quite a display. Although it would have been a less painful display if I was'nt under it with no quick means of escape. Anyway, cars off the road until this pipe comes, just wondered if anyone else has fitted one, or has picks of the part? How hard is it? Seems like it runs round from the water pump, acrross front of block with bits t-ing off. Least me gauges work and look the danglers
  25. shysen, cant beleive i forgot the OSV !!
