ok... now the big question, i am gonna have to check this myself at lunch, anyone got a pic or a sure fire way of describing it so i can actually find the ISV and check it??? sorry but am a girl, were not meant to be mechanical!!!
-
nope - nothing else done but the sensor and the rotor arm, the garage did say they had checked the plugs etc yesterday and hed thought they were ok......

just picked the C up from the garage after having a new rotor arm and lambda sensor fitted to solve the previous problems we were having. drove away from the garage and she was fantastic...... until i got to the roundabout outside my work, when i put her into 2nd and slowed down she cut out, tried to start her again and she took a good 30 seconds for the engine to catch and start. got to carpark and again as soon as i slowed and the revs dropped she cut out, had to restart her 5 times just to get her in a parking space!!!! any suggestions??? have tried calling the garage but there not answering!!

was parked in local supermarket car park a couple of weeks ago, left Scarlett sitting while i walked to petrol station to get ciggies, when walking back over i noticed someone who looked familliar looking at her, i walked over and realised it was a guy i had went to school with that i had had the HUGEST crush on since i had been 7. went through the usual hi, how u doing? what u been up to? crap then i asked him what he was doing and looked at the C... he admitted he was looking at the car cos he thought they were lovely and had always wanted one but his other half (the bint he chose over me aged 16) wouldnt let him get anything sporty... at that i smiled ever so smugly, said goodbye n opened the door! his face dropped!!! saw him stand and watch me drive all the way out the car park... mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha... i love my car!!!!

hey guys would appreciate a bit of advice on this... when solving the C's latest engine issue i found out that she doesnt have an air filter fitted. have heard that induction kits aint much use for the valvers so am just gonna fit a new filter, will a standard a one do or can anyone recommend another brand/set up that will help me get the best out her... ta much!!!

I reckon a cloverleaf down the straights and twisties would kill a 1.8 corrado, and a 2.0 one on the straights.. the problem with the 145 isnt grip, its the body roll, give it some FK springs/shocks its one of the best handling hatches out there, plus the engine note when the variator comes into play is aw inspiring.. still want a G60 though :D thats probably true about the handling but with a Rado u dont need to do anything to it to get an awesome drive - it comes as standard... my 145 was lucky to give me 30mpg and that was mostly motorway miles, the Rado, even with the probs i have just now is easily giving me 38 and i aint holding back when i drive it.... also i had to get rid of the 145 when it was 6 years old because of the problems i was beginning to have with rust, the whole of the underside of the car was in a mess, Rados 12 and she has a couple of little spots but nothing compared to the alfa... get a G60, have some fun n if u dont like it there are some lovely Cloverleafs about, u can always go back too..... -
thanks - thats been suggested - getting her looked at tonite (my mates a mechanic who loves Rados. bonus!!)
-
agreed!!! :D

hi!!! i went for a 2ltr valver as my first C a couple of months ago - have a lot of work to do to get her going well (unfortunately i didnt have 4k to spend and had to settle on one for a grand) but dont regret it cos there great cars - unfortunately i now know that i am gonna end up getting a VR6 someday. its addictive, it dont matter what one u buy now, you'll either want another one or you'll end up with a list of stuff u wanna do to the one youve got..... i'd say go for a valver and see how much time and money youve got to spare then take it from there... -
guess where i ended up last nite with Scarlett.... yup, stuck at the side of the road with her having a hissy fit and refusing to go anywhere... again!!! i've been driving for 8 years, have had 6 cars and have ended up on the hard shoulder more time with her than all the others put together!!! '74 VW Beetle - never broke down. Renault 5 - it was held together with rust but old had to stop once cos it over heated. Alfa 145 - had it 2 years and no probs cept pulling over once to change a tyre. Ford Focus - had it 2 years and done 60,000 miles in it and it stopped once. Corsa - (not my choice of car! hated it) no probs in 18 months. Jeep Cherokee - again had to change a wheel. Scarlett - only had her 2 months - had to get towed home by AA cos burst a tyre on back roads and then burst spare.... ended up on hard shoulder twice cos of oil pressure light flashing.... wouldnt start at all one nite and had to be towed home by my mate - only for her to start when we got home... ended up on hard shoulder again when exhaust fell off... again wouldnt start one nite and had to leave her in town and go back next day to try again, again she started 1st time - and of course there was last nite where we were going till suddenly we lost power, got it again, lost it, got it again - pulled over on hard shoulder - turned her off then on, she seemed ok, then 500 yards down the road it happens agina nd i had to crawl home!!!!! aaarrrrrrgggghhhhhhh!!!!! strange thing is is still wouldnt swap her for any other car in the world!!!!! am i mad?????

welcome aboard!!! i've had a 145 Alfa previously, it was the 1.6 too and as much as i loved it the Rado kicks its ass.... when i came to get a new car 2 months ago i was looking for either the 2.0 ltr 145 Cloverleaf or a 2.0 Rado, needless to say i decided on the Rado and havnt looked back, the Alfa is a lovely car and quick but the Corrado beats it on handling and general quality.... am soooooooo glad i bought it instead of the Alfa..... oh, and red is a fab colour on Rados!!! :) -
got driven insane by funny whining grinding noise coming off engine again that no one can pin point... spent 10 min in petrol station trying to persuade her to start.... spent an hour getting filthy under car trying to get plug out to get all the excess oil out and failed - swore lots - went for drive up backroads with my mate and got utterly whipped by his Volvo Td... kerbed front alloy on kerb at KFC drive thru!!! ggggggrrrrrrr!!!! roll on nxt weekend! :D
-
saw 2 over the weekend... gorgeous dark blue VR6 (i think) in Showcase Cinemas car park on sat nite with multi-spoke alloys, reg was PDZ **** or something like that. yellow one on A726 heading towards Hamilton... was going too quick to see reg etc!!!! anyone here?
-
am sure yours was still the prettiest tho!!!
-
thanks guys - mine does this too, wasnt too sure if it was a big issue.
-
i'd love to give it a go but realistically i know i would end up causing serious damage to car or self... prob both.... :D
-
