g60_Pete replied to surfer.vr6's topic in General Car Chat
i dont think thats true, im totally honest about my car (well seeing as its standard...) my insurance sint too bad on a g60, fully comp is about 700 a year 3ncb. having said that i've been suffering with a 1.1 peugeot for nearly 4 years so i think i deserve my rado :D and i guess living in a quiet area helps alot too, i know that my friend from manc has hjorirble insurance but since he moved into uni halls it dropped nearly £200! -

im pretty sure my vacuum hose (tb to ecu) has a hole in it, the car has not power belwo 3500revs and i've scoured the forum looking for a diagram to no avail, i reckon i can get it fixed with a new hose if i could just find out whats what! anyone here care to show me the light? cheers. any comments on fixing this problem yourselves post away please! oh and would it be worth cleaning out the ISV with some brake cleaner while im around that area?

i nearly got pasted by a passat tdi the other day, so i made up for it today and mashed a 2.0 gti mk5 :D he was keeping up fairly well on the straight, then when it tipped into the roundabout his car was about 100m away skipping all over the place, while i just gently powered ahead i ithnk the g60 is runing like ass though, its a bit gutless below 3500 revs, must be the vacuum hose or something, no idea where to look though

payed 1500 fully comp on a 1.1 peugeot 106 when i was 17 :D now paying £300 to insure my g60 fully comp on top of the £500 i payed for the pug at the start of the year (changed car on policy) that also include keeping the pug on the road till the 29th of april. overall price for a full year is around the £700 makr fully comp. and im not eve 21 :D wahahahaha -
being realisitc.. 20v fiat coupe despite the build quality. r33/4 gtr skyline one of them new saabs! in piss yellow! maybe an old lotus elise though, they be sexy :D OR a cossie! but im so indecisive, it took me about 3 years to finally buy a corrado

fitted a new breather pipe, nice 50pence sized hole melted into the old one, held together with insulation tape. need power steering fluid now :( the never ending g60 repair. add to the list of : new speakers (all they suck) new wheels, lots of polish, maybe a new vacuum hose, maybe clean the isv try and sort that over-fuelling on start up problem

im running a G60 and im student :D its bog standard goes like the clappers though :D all i can say is if you can afford one that had its charger done and is in pretty good cond, your still going to pay out for it. in the first 2 weeks of having my rado ive already replaced the breather pipe, had a full stainless exhaust system fitted (nearly same cost for a mild steel one) a new cat 1 alarm/immob system, a high presure oil sensor AND an oil service not to mention all the squeaks rattles and general wear and tear on it. having said that it cost me £2k to buy, and it only needed the sensor and the oil, i can see myself pouring many hundreds if not thousands into the car and not regretting it purely on the basis that : 1. everyone checks out the car 2. its so much fun to drive 3. the look on somebodies face when you overtake em 4.the spoiler!!!!! i'd say if you can afford the upkeep get a g60, if not get the best condition latest 1.8 16v you can.

looks like fun :D anything involving some german muscle cant be bad :D

i wish i had could do that! and purple rocks, prince was the fucking shit :D -
never quite fires up first time, if i try and start it then stop then hit the ignition again it fires up no problem at all. NO idea why this happens appears to be running a bit rich (the stench of petrol gave it away) any way of sorting this out without taking it to a pro? its a 91 g60 btw. standard.
-
fast enough, well over 200bhp in standard trim. i tihnk about 5.5 ish dunno man i love your avatar. fruity strom trooper. sod mr2 get a speeder bike or an imperial star destroyer. thats where its at these days
-
i dunno drove a fair few mk2's look alot better than the mk1 but less fun. depends if your familiar with rwd or not, i know if i jumped into a rwd car after not driving one everday i'd probably end up chucking it into a hedge
-
really? im sure the 2.0 16v mr2 on papaer was only 9.5 0-60... certainly feels that slow when i drove one.. meh still a big hair dresser car. doesnt have a filthy charger whining under the bonnet now does it? plus how annyoing would it be trying to service it yourself? climing into the enginebay silly mid engined car!
-
i must be pretty nuts :D had to stop it squittin oil a bit till i picked up the sensor. barely run it all week (annoying as i've only had it a week)
-
the mr2 is just boring to drive aswell ;) i just got a g60. its rocks people loko at the car and you can see it ont heir faces "wtf is THAT" also amusing people try and smoke you in a 1.0 205 too ;)
-
oh, a quick fix for the oil sesnor = ptfe tape :D plumbers mate wins again! unless like mine its leaking from the actual sesnor and not the nut (bugger)
-
low oil pressure. my high pressure oil sesnor is leaking
-
im used a 1.1 pug ;) saves me soem times anyway should be running sweet as a nut once i got some new magnatec in her and some new plugs (still starts and runs a little lumpy for a few mins) then its on to butchering her apperance :D
