  1. BigTT the car is a 16v m8 and the wheels are RW 7X15 that i originally had on my mk2 16v. More pics of the car in the gallery. Went to the dealer today and was told that the person who probably sold the car still works there but was off today so i will try to pop in later or early next week. Seen a few Inca Blue Cs but thats not the colour.Beginning to think it was definately an import.
  2. I thought Kingfisher was an Audi colour? Checked the reference list of colours and none of them are the same. Corrado was definately the same colour as the Golf i found on Ebay. It looked stunning especially with the colour coded wheels, i will try to find some photos of it but i dont hold out much hope as it was a while ago now. Will see if i can contact the dealer and see if i can find out for sure, if it is a non standard colour in this country then surely someone would remember it. Would love to find out where it went.
  3. Definately brand new car and not resprayed. Possibly import and converted to right hand drive? Was this ever done? Owner previously owned a Left hand drive UR Quattro that was No.3 in the Uk and is still in the dealers collection in Perth. She traded that car in for the C so it could have been an import again as the Quattro was supplied by same dealership.
  4. Found the colour on this car. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 83568&rd=1 The colour charts dont show it as they are for US market and it doesn't look like they had this colour, but cheers anyway joebloggsVR69
  5. If it was an import would it have been a left hand drive?
  6. Think Monza was a bit more Green and was on earlier 16v Mk2s.This was more like a Ford Imperial Blue or Impreza Blue
  7. Just finished chatting to my brother on the phone about cars and we were remembering the day we saw our first G60 Corrado. It would have been 1990 and the car was a colour i have not seen again on a Corrado. It is the same colour that was on the last Mk2 Golf GTI. A very bright metalic blue. Does anyone know the colour name and is it rare? The car was brand new and as far as i remember it was one of the first in the UK.I never saw it without its private plate so dont know reg. It had Recaro leather interior and colour coded BBS alloys.
  8. Out in the car this morning pressing on a bit on some good old back roads and lost the back end in a big way over some bumps, managed to hold on to it though,Just!(better to be lucky than good!). Steering is not right at all now :( Looks like the rack has taken a beating as the steering wheel is now off centre and its making a clunking noise at full lock one way and is light the other way. Didn't hit anything but was on the lock stops for a good 10 secs sideways at a fair rate of knots. Looks like time to change the rack. Looks like a bit of a job for a Sunday afternoon. At least the weather is good. Any tips!
  9. If you could get me the relevant info then i would consider taking a closer look m8. Are they all in a similar condition to the one in the picture?
  10. Are they proper split rims? I have seen a set of these before made by Image split rims. They were standard 944 turbo rims with a split rim added alot like the Dimma 205 Gti wheels. They can take any wheel centre and modify it with a split rim outer and to any size as they remove the original rim hence why these are 17 inch perhaps. Very nice though. What width are they?Offset for front and rears? Are they for sale?
  11. Replaced the oil cooler seal after it failed driving back from work and dumped all the engine oil over the road.Oil pressure warning light and buzzer went off but stopped in time to save any damage. Never heard of this seal failing before but oil cooler was on tight and seal had twisted and split at the rear. Definately fitting an oil pressure gauge and higher pressure warning light, if it had been on the motorway the engine would be dead.
  12. My friends father has just finished in the courts with this one: His car was driving at 114mph on a dual carraigeway, within 6 minutes of the offence 2 people had been driving the car,he being one of them. He as the registered keeper was charged with the offence. He disputed the fact that he was driving,he did not have to disclose who the other driver was but asked the court to prove that he was driving the car. Due to the privacy glass on his M3 the camera could not see the driver so no one could be charged with the offence as a positive identification could not be made of the driver. It is a far as this case goes the responsibility of the police to prove who was driving the car at the time, not the owners responsibility to prove he wasn't or divulge who was. Obviously if you take the same route as Mr M3 and it backfires and it is you then it could turn out to be worse, especially being over 100mph.
  13. You can actually use the oe bulb holders but on mine they dont fit that securely so i resorted to the wiring supplied and used male spade connectors into the original wiring block. Cant remember off hand where wires go but just trace the connections on the oe bulb holder to the plug and its pretty simple after that. Just match them up with the wires from the FK lights. Will have a look later and post the correct colours if i can.

Did these wheels myself. Dont know if you can see it in the posted pics, but i added a Holographic flake to the laquer and when the sun hits it it looks superb. There only 15 inch so needed something different to make them standout.

Thanks for the complements I bought her with a blown engine and have replaced that and renewed most of the suspension and brakes.Coilovers, top mounts, polybushed front end,Black diamond discs and greenstuff pads, new calipers and wheel bearings all round, clutch, driveshafts etc, etc. A bit of overkill to be honest but the car drives like it was new now. Needs the most work on the interior and wil be looking for quite a few black interior parts soon.

A few pics of my car. Just completed rebuilding all the mechanicals. Exterior and interior next. Interior is a bit of a mess as previous owner did a bad job of changing to black,so need a few parts to finish. Its a start though!
  18. Just follow him for a while! It will go Bang eventually or run out of fuel. :D
  19. Tried it all!!!!!!!!! Feels like the plug will break the box. Will get heat on it soon. That should do it. Need to get some more oil in to drive it to the workshop.
  20. Can you fill the gearbox oil through the speedo cable hole. The filler plug is jammed on mine and i need to top up the oil level. Its a '89 valver. Cheers
