got the actual figures now. I filled 62 litres of optimax and got less than 300 miles. thats 21mpg.

G-werks basically had all the sensors checked. The front wheels have a lot of resistance and would not move freely. I am getting about 25 mpg. I am suspecting that it is running a jabasport chip. When I get paid, will go back Darren to get the SNS. But for now, I am looking for the wheel bearing to be sorted properly.

The car runs fine and has been checked by a good mechanic. However, the car gives around 35 miles per tenner. I may be ragged it a few tmes, but not all the time. Now I am not sure why this happens. Any ideas? Blue sensors are fine. The lambda sensor is ok too. Co pot sensor is fine. The wheel bearings were done recently. Dont know if thats causing a problem. I did notice that the front wheels did not spin freely when jacked up. One thing noticed was that the engine breathes heavily, but the compression tests are fine and there's no smoke from the exhaust. Please help, Alan

yeap, VR6 bonnet in a G60. I have to do some slight adjustments. Just took it apart and put it back and there was no petrol smell. Hopefully this has sorted out problem...

found the bugger. It was a hose which was spraying petrol like a fountain. I did not open the bonnet for these days as it requires two people for it. Finally, I managed to get a second person (LOL). here is the hose.

Update on the petrol smell  The car stinks of petrol now, and when I pull up anywhere the whole block stinks of petrol. There is no oil smell at all. The mpg values have gone down at an exponential rate too. £30 petrol (optimax) and does about 20 mpg on a descent run. Not happy at all. I am thinking that it might be a fuel hose or even the vent which is part of the blanking plate conversion. Not sure now. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Alan

I did go through the speedbump. I was kinda scared about it as it was in the night. It came hard, but the bump stops in the suspension prevented the sump from hitting the ground, i think. Hopefully and fingers crossed...

Just a question about what effects my car could have if driven at 20 mph by mistake on a speed bump. The car is lowered with coilovers to 60mm with 17in wheels. Cheers in advance.

This is a regular now, when I have just started my car or being motionless, there seems to be some petrol/ oily smell coming from the engine bay through the vents. I am worried, as I dont want to smell complex hydrocarbons and die soon. Therefore, as I come to a stationary point, I first turn the vents off. It all started after I got the blanking plate fitted, as far as i know. Any one please shed some light on this situation.

on the lines of insurance, If I say that I drive my car for under 5k miles a year and I exceed that amount by a small bit, how do they know that I have done so? Cheers Alan

Is it good to always have the supercharger engaged? And, I was driving at very high speeds to the GTI festival for around 45 minutes. The supercharger was engaged most of the time. The MPG figures I got were rubbish. So does it mean that when you drive high speeds (80+) the fuel consumption increases? Alan
-
My car always lies with mpg figures. I normally calculate my own ones. Works out to be roughly 28 mpg.

The extra mods on my car that has not been insured are, Alloys and exhaust. How much do you reckon it would add to my current policy? I am with direct line insurance. Thanks Alan

Car looks mint mate. Love them rims. Nice one. Alan

Are the G60's with stage 4's similar to normal ones in fuel consumption, provided that you drive like a granny? Alan
-
I guess I will have to wait for a month till exams are over, and then sort the problem out.

I am thinking about getting a tdi as a second car..

I recently got 280 miles for £35, but that was ragging the car on the motorway though. Went up to 145 mph but never went below 80. Was 90 or 100 most of the time and the supercharger was engaged all the time. Is that reasonable for that ragging? Most I have had is 37 mpg (my own calc) as my MFA lies. On motorways, it does not like to go up at all.

not on big bumps, but on uneven road surfaces.

Could it be the bonnet or the suspension? The suspension is brand new.. Cheers Alan
