  1. Not going for storage then  The lift is now free if you want to tidy up your underside
  2. less competition  I have a dusty old barn which could be made available for your ever increasing collection  Kip, thanks for the comments again mate, Hopefully the judges will be less harsh this year  Pete, have thought about improving my corrado shed, currently it gets tucked under a cotton sheet and a dust sheet in a shed on trickle charge, but no budget left for this year :( The quote you had for rebuilding the Vr lump wasn't far off. ouch!! Hope you have sorted the R32 conversion friend Coullstar, it certainly isn't a daily driver, and I don't like salty roads :nono:
  3. Thanks for the positive feedback guys :salute: That routine will be useful thanks Kip, will be in touch when I re-tax it for March, must get some farming done now, just get the impression that Spring isn't too far away
  4. 003.JPG[/attachment:lbrlik2k] not many will see the underside, but it pleases me :cuckoo: Cheers Kip
  5. 002.JPG[/attachment:1rb0fglz] A bit of tidying up where the Hammerite underseal was removed, but it looks so much brighter under there
  6.  Its finally back in one piece and working again. I have had set up issues including bad earth contacts, alarm /immobiser cutting the engine when first gear engaged, gear linkage adjustments after finding reverse in R/1/2 positions, sounded like a bag of nails on initial start up untill the cam followers primed with oil  It needs a run now to allow engine management system to reset, and a real good fettling having been on the ramps for 2 months, but the major work is done   The budget is blown for the time being so some of the jobs that were planned will have to wait until next winter. I dont feel I'm ready to add up the costs yet, but I seriously underestimated :ignore:001.JPG[/attachment:2u5p658x]
  7. Have just changed mine Bill, thought it was the 6203, cost a fiver, replacement simple enough if you cut away the retaining plastic ring. Have not got the paperwork to check, but a common bearing take it out first to be certain!
  8. Good work Drewie, had thought about the exhaust coating but I've blown the budget for this year on the engine rebuild :nono: The alloy looks brill after the blasting treatment, carry on the good work :notworthy: :notworthy:
  9. Some brill photos on here mate, really good shots :D but can't help thinking you are taking the minimalism a little too far
  10. This confirms it, I've finally lost it :cuckoo: I've spent all day removing probably the best underseal on the market, Hammerite black waxoil, but judging by the early results it has protected the underside well.underseal engine 003.JPG[/attachment:3i21r75u]
  11. There are some amazing galleries on at the moment, all that power and engineering :notworthy: :notworthy: I'm struggling to remember where all the bits go :shock:underseal engine 005.JPG[/attachment:9cu8yqzv]
  12. Its come on loads since I saw it in summer, long term projects take time, money and dedication. Carry on the good work :notworthy: ps. thanks for the rear seat cards
  13. Thanks for the comments guys, need encouragement, costs are mounting up, still more to do, but on the home run now :) Cyprus was brill Kip, we were sun bathing and swimming in the med while you guys were up to your knees in snow  but a harsh home coming with no hot water or heating as the boiler broke down on the day we left :censored:

  22. Head is going to be rebuilt next week, not going to gas flow or modify though, just recut and regrind seats, new guides, seals, followers etc. Should go better when its done considering it was out a tooth on the timing for some reason
  23. :notworthy: Thanks for the comments and tips Drewie, much respect for the work you have put into yours. I was going to ask what you had used on the alloy, there had to be an easier way than wirewool and solvol, will give it a try mate
  24. I thought there must be a special tool, they are certainly awkward little b###ers :bad-words: . Just used a standard ring tool and a lot of patience. Iceviolet, the tip would be to buy the tool and use the sticky oil to coat shells and bores on rebuilding :D Shawshankkid. Cheers for the comments mate , see you soon :salute:
  25. Pistons back in with new shells and ringsrebuild 015.JPG[/attachment:2a0wmtkd] This may take some time, will not show every piston though, honest :cuckoo: Forgot to mention rebuilt items are coated with an oil that seems to have the properties of treacle
