  1. i found someones info, very useful, but not clear about how i replace the burnt bit and what else may be buggered now. Can i just buy a whole new bits of wiring and a new switch and does that just plug in? i noticed my headunit went dead its not jsut the brown wire, its melted all the ones touching it too.
  2. i over filled the oil on a corsa once, whenever i put my foot down i got a smoke screen  not sure it does the cat much good
  3. is there more money splitting a corrado then trying to sell it at the moment how do you work out a rough amount it would be worth. what are the main desirable parts that sell quickly? i know the recaro leather would fetch a decent amount, its very good condition with no wear. £900? aircon system? is that worth much? not saying i'm doing this, just curious at the mo
  4. is this wiring something i can buy again and just plug in? is the loom in separate parts or do i need to replace the whole thing?
  5. things just got worse :( :x don't know what caused it, but basiclly the wiring just melted, lots of smoke etc. pissed off now, put car in garage and given up for now till i'm more relaxed is this going to be a massive fix now? the brown wire has melted as far as i can see, and ll the other wires are stuck to it in a horrible melted mess
  6. going to buy a new one and the repair kit, so i have a backup switch.... been putting off a trip to the dealers to get my brake stuff, but now best go asap i wonder if the CCGB card gets discount on the switch?
  7. also is there anyway of bodging something up i so i can turn lights on and off?
  8. seems abnormally hot to me, probably what causes them to break its the 1st time its broken that i know of.........is it best just to buy a new one?
  9. got it out, albeit with some other bits attached  i notice the white bit in one of the pics gets very very hot indeed, burnt my finger on it is that normal? seems to of melted the clear plastic ring
  10. right i managed to pull the front of switch off, but can't get switch out. i've just pulled the fuses out for now, but the dash is still lit up. just saw your repair guide, very handy, lots of little bits fell out of my switch how do i get the whole thing out? is there any temp fix i can do so i can use lights still? i hate it when things like this happen just as you need to do something
  11. typical this!! just reading on forum last week about dodgy headlight switches and mine has just broken i can't turn my lights off, something inside switch has broken and its now all loose and doesn't do anything just it just lever out with a screwdriver?
  12. liking the rims :D i have had those wheel bolts do the same on an old car, was a bastard getting them off. they are also on my corrado, but only got 1 on there now, managed to replace the rest with standard wheel bolts
  13. is this to stop bugs with metal limbs getting on your food?
  14. thats the only thing i don't like with mine, i can't change the colour of the lights, they just orange/amber and thats its so doesn't suit the rest of the dash have been thinking of getting something newer anyway, i quite like the idea of being able to play all my songs on itunes through it. but i don't have an ipod?
  15. can just see it here...might need to squint
  16. i have a nakamichi too, best sounding headunit i've had and its lasted about 6yrs with no problems. only got a single slot in CD one, but was around £300 back in the day which was a lot for what it did they look good too, suit the rado, i personnly don't like alot of headunits these days, especially with fake silver bits, lights like a xmas tree, silly animations they just look tacky
  17. dare i say vauxhall monaro?? about the only cool car they make
  18. think i'll just get the folia tec, have used the hammerite on my current brakes and it was ok but seems to be coming off etc, don't think i did a very good job of cleaning the calipers first
  19. i'd get something newer but not a TT or even a kit car like a caterham
