Still not got it sorted, the corrado has sat in garage for ages now and i need to get on with it. Might just fit the new engine and see if the misfire is still there, am starting to think the engine in car is to blame, i put new plugs in it and noticed the one in cylinder 6 is all black and looking in the cylinder with my scope it appears all wet and oily in there. Other cylinders also seem to have a coating of black gunk but a couple look dry and cleaner.

I think my last reply answers it, i just bought it with money as i tend to do quite a bit of mileage and don't like the idea of looking after a car for the next owner, would rather me enjoy the best of it.

Honestly if you just but some fuel hose and fit it, after a while it takes the right shape and you can't tell any difference. Its just 8mm ID fuel hose. i doubt VW make their own.

I'd check the wishbones are the right way round too, the little bit the ARB connects to will give it away

Nah the clutch fork is within the gearbox/clutch area, quite hard to check

I had all the timing covers, inlet manifolds and rocker cover soda blasted when i did mine, they came up lovely.

Found the coolant leak, its the thermostat housing so that easy to sort out. Still not sorted out the rough running, not really been too bothered since getting the Fiesta ST but now the weather is nice i fancy taking corrado out. Not sure where to begin though. Starts fine and idles ok, but as soon as you try to accelerate it goes really lumpy and misfires with pops and bangs etc Think i need to start from the beginning and just go through everything, nothing shows up on vagcom. Can a cat falling apart inside cause this, might take it off and have a look as its the original one still.

Vince at stealth advised me to use this on my head gasket https://www.cromwell.co.uk/shop/pipe-sealants/pipe-sealants/wellseal-jointing-compound/f/7987 still used a gasket but applied a small amount that around cylinder 1+2 end, (not all over the gasket)

The fan and heater box is different, but not really much to change, apart from the fan. But don't think thats a dash out job.

I only have two sensors in mine, think i read the guide wrong and got rid of the 3rd when i removed aircon. Hasn't caused any issues.

Does it change with any electrics on? Like hazards and full beam? I had an issue not long ago where the revs would pulse with the hazards and change the revs when full beam was on. Was my alternator needed servicing

Am sure some of the PCP deals etc can be better than buying, when you work out the depreciation etc. But i do about 15,000miles a year and the advertised prices increased. So i traded in the black one and paid the difference (was lucky that i got a couple of bonuses at work) otherwise i'd of probably gotten a bank loan instead.

I did come up with my theory in my own head so it might not be the case :lol:

Oil should warm up before the coolant imo as the coolant should be cooling the oil, if the coolant was hotter than the oil i'd be worried. Have you tried fuel pump relay, i used to have stalling and hot start issues until i changed mine. quite cheap and easy,. maybe worth a try

I got an ebay one and it sorted my idle out and has been good for a few years now
