    Number plates

I need to replace the numberplates on my corrado not sure what kinda style to get, have seen the german style but don't wanna get stopped by police anyone got pics of different styles, with border, no border, raised letters, 3D effect letters etc etc
  5. How easy is it to do, (M-reg VR6) also what type of ones fit, is it possible to another standard one from somewhere? Thanks
  6. thanks guys. Am really happy with it, drives like a new car, no odd noises. Are they meant to have a VR6 badge on the front? where can i buy a new grill and badge?
  7. i wanna keep it pretty much standard, i'm not one for changing a car too much. would people advise an aftermarket airfilter? The grill is cracked so gonna replace that. will probably get a 2nd set of rims for it. I'm really impressed with the interior, looks perfect to me, very well cared for. Has a Full service history (every 8-9000miles), 130,000miles on it now, but still feels like new to me. Has had new shocks, top mounts, rear bushes, new discs and pads i paid £4k
  8. Hi guys, after nearly 2yrs of wanting one and deciding whether to get one or not i finally bought one.. Am so chuffed here are some pics I'm Jim, from Chelmsford area in Essex, am probably gonna be here quite a bit now, would be nice to get to know some fellow Corrado owners 8)
  9. it wasn't up for sale, i've offered to buy it and he agreed to sell not sure about these extras all i know -black recaro leather, heated, electric movement -air con + sunroof just said it was an ex demo one, whatever that means.
  10. i sure will.... i hope it all last ok will prob have loads of questions soon
  11. I pick up the Corrado tommorrow, am very excited :D I'll get pics once its all polished up etcc=
  12. am thinking i should get it, he's only 2mins down the road from me, so ideal to talk to when/if something starts playing up. my other options are -mk4 golf gti 1.8t -audi a3 1.8t sport -seat ibiza 1.8t cupra just the corrado seems more grown up to me, and well known as being a great car
  13. Hi guys, I've been wanting a Corrado VR6 for about 1.5yrs now, and still not got one. My car has just died (last thursday) melted a valve apparantely and i'm not going to repair it, so need to buck my ideas up and get a car asap. I've found a VR6 locally, quick spec: -M-reg -VR6 -dragon green -130,000miles -recaro heated leather -air con -sunroof apparantely it was an ex-demo model and came with a lot of extras, guy who owns it is a mechanic and had it for about 8yrs, its hasn't had the timing chain/tensioners done, all electrics work, no rust that i could see, he says he gets it on the ramp pretty often and underneath is fine. its not up for sale, i've asked him if he'd sell it, and he would, he said £4250, i reckon he'll take £4k am just worried about any likely probs it may get in next 30,000 miles and just some general advice on it. am worried about buying a car with so many miles, its just that i really love the corrado and everything else in that price range seems inferior, has excuses for handling and performance, or just very common, bland and run of the mill
  14. hi people thanks for all that, very useful. i've only driven the VR so far, and looked the whole seating postion, the way it feels like your sat "in" the car, not on it, if you know what i mean, kinda surrounds you.
  15. have search for about 1yr looking at various VR6's, but recentely starting to think its not worth it. £4-5k for a 12yr old car, over 100,000miles, etc, plus extra fuel costs, extra tax, extra insurance. also i doubt i'll get to it to its full potiental due to where i live, and roads i use, (mainly b-roads, very bumpy, not many straights) so might consider a 1.8, i here this is quicker than the 2.0? is there much scope to improve the performance? also what kinda fuel consumption should i expect have seen, VR6 = 25mpg, 1.8 = 30mpg, not much in it really???
  16. Top Speed 126mph (203kph) Acceleration 0-60mph in 10.2 seconds i reckon i'd get bored of that quite quickly have had 90bhp for 6yrs now and think i deserve some more by now...........lol
  17. deffo would like the VR6, not keen on a g60 am off to check those stats now Walsey :)
  18. Hi guys I am after a vr6, either golf or corrado, would much prefer corrado tho. all i would like to know is the performance figures for the 2.0 16v as i've looked elsewhere and it seems its v.slow. 0-60 time was worse than a 1.4 corsa ???? surely thats wrong? Would i be better getting a vr6?
  19. hi guys got a couple of questions which would be great if answered with some pics, can't find many myself what i would like to know is what osrt of subtle styling is there for the corrado, nothing major, just simple things that help tidy car up, lights, grill, handles etc and is there any easy/quick ways of weight saving, as a lot of car have bits that aren't really nessecary thanks
  20. have found one locally a VR6 that is, its M-plate, 120,000 miles, dark green, has recaro leather and is a very nice example i know to check if the timing chain has been changed. but what else should i be weary about, as i quite unsure about buying a car of that age/miles he is a mechanic and owned car for 5years, and is well looked after. says he has only had some sensors etc cause problems in the past
  21. Hello again guys was speaking to the bloke at my local garage and he has owned his corrado VR6 for seven years now and has got 120,000miles its not a storm, but an ex-demo model with recaro leather interior and all the extras. anyway its well looked after as he is a mechanic. so i said i may be interested in buying it what are these cars like with this many miles? i will be using it daily and averaging about 15000 - 20000 mile per year am use to vauxhalls and know the old redtop engines can become a bit tired after 100,000 and most people tend to get them rebuilt
  22. just rang, and its sold, sold on first day of advertising. i thought i would be lucky if its still there, could well be this one HE-MAN is selling. have two more to choose from now....lol a 58,000 one, and another with 89,000 £8,500 is a bit much i think
  23. not 100% sure, have gotta phone on lunch break, i would be surpised if its still there, was in Hertfordshire, 01279 phone no. ad is 2 weeks old, so have everything crossed
  24. haven't been to see car yet, am going by photo, Corrado Vr6 Storm 1 owner since new 50,000miles 6 disc cd changer e/s/r FSH Deep Met purple throughly looked after £5.5k
