  4. Thats why you can't have nice things anymore.... Too many f$%king jealous people about. Had my old Mk2 Golf done twice in about six months, once outside a hotel, once outside the cinema. Didn't bother replaceing it with decent stuff after that.  Ad
  5. OK all sorted thanks for your input chrishill, the previous owner had bodged the wiring and rather than unclipping the wires for the rear speakers (presume he had a parcel shelf setup- fitted) had cut the wiring further down. Reconnected these now all sorted! Thanks Ad
  6. Hi Got a couple of questions about the standard speaker setup on a 1989 valver..... - The previous owner had hacked about with the wiring to fit the stereo and as a result only the front speakers are working. So today took the stereo out and checked (and corrected some of the wiring  ) plugged the stereo back in expecting it to work but...... still not working. Any ideas why not?? - Where are the speaker wires routed to the rear speakers? - How do you remove the rear speakers? Thanks in advance Adam

  9. Thanks for all the comments! carpy25, Think we're going to leave the sidestrips off, they don't seem to do any good anyway as they are/were so low down on the doors (people tend to bump them higher)

  15. The car is back from being painted and all I can say is wow! Superb job done at a great price (Cheers Si!) I'll let the before and after pictures do some before and after shots... The yellow doesn't look bright in these pictures but thats the camera/weather and not the eye-hurtingly bright paintwork :D (And yes I know they've put the 16v Badge back in the wrong place  , i'll be sorting that tomorrow)

  25. Hello All Been on here a while (used to have a Inca Blue 16v) but now spend most of my time playing/sorting out the Girlfriends Nugget that she has named "Gwen" :? Anyway thought i'd stick some piccies up. Plans for the future? - Refurb the wheels and fit the new centres when they arrive (if they arrive...... stupid post office ) - Sort out the paint - Sort out the dodgy wiring of the stereo.
