  1. Ah yes, you live in Aberdeen aswell :) Was coming back from A W Autotech, Ardarroach Street near the football ground, have you heard if they're good or not? Would be cool to bump into you sometime too :)
  2. Obviously not enough of a challenge, think the wheels give it away. Poor X5!!
  3. Just dropped off my car to a garage to get some work done and was walking home, passed this on the way. Damned curious how the driver managed it! As the thread title says, what do you think?
  4. Aw that takes the effin p!ss mate!!! I really feel for you! I'm up in aberdeen and one of the forums up here a guy was sayin how his lockup got broken into and the subsequent 8 lockups got broken into aswell! seems like its happening everywhere!
  5. You know it's funny that in the 4 and half years I have had my corrado, I haven't really had that many comments, which does surprise me. BUT, the one thing this never fails to do is put a smile on my face, even if from home to work, there is just something special about the corrado. I get people asking me if I will get rid of it after I buy the GTR, no chance! Other cars (including the GTR) will come and go, but this will stay!
  6. I have had Conti SportContact2s on my front and Rainsport 2s on my rear (oo-er) for about a year now, maybe a little less and have to say, nice combo. The SportContacts2s are better than the Rainsport 2s (I had the 2s on the front before) but not really too sure whether or not they are worth the extra over the Rainsport 2s. Conti 2s better than Rainsports 2s in the wet, in the dry I would say probably about the same. The Conti 2s have a better feel to them, give more confidence. The problem i have is I am comparing to driving the Rainsport 2s (when on the front) being in Manch, and the Conti 2s being on the front whilst living in Dundee. Now anyone who has driven in Dundee will tell you straightaway its not wet, its greasy, whereas the roads in manch majority of the tiem are only wet, no grease. Somewhat makes it harder to judge the wet capability. One thing i am surprised about on the Conti 2s is they dont seem to have lasted even 8k, well ok they dont need changing right away but i dont reckon they will make it much past 10k. And they dont seem to be gripping as well now but then the cold roads dont help much. I have 16s on right, the jump from 15s to 16s made a huge difference in terms of less tyre squeal and better turn-in, better feel. Cant wait to eventually get to 17s and see the difference.
  7. I actually like the new Rocco's exterior, not the interior but imo, we dont need a new Rado if it will drive like most of the current cars thank you!!
  8. HAHAHAHA, ah mate that was class!!!!!!!!!!! Leather ftw! 8)
  9. Thanks for the reply, looks like I'll have to go there.
  10. Oh, and it would be good to perhaps meet up with Rado owners in Aberdeen, I knew there are a few you here! :D
  11. I'm sure there used to be a thread up for this but can't seem to find it, even after using the search. I've just recently moved to Aberdeen for during the weeks (back down to Dundee at the weekends) and I'm in need of a garage, MOT is due very soon. And it's always good to know of a decent, trusthworthy, reliable garage, especially if you own a Corrado.... You all know what I'm talking about! I've moved pretty much next door to the Queens Links bit, beside the beach and whatnot. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
  12. If you dont hear the aux pump staying on after switching engine off, does it mean the pump is knackered or could it be something else? I've been noticing for the past few days I never hear the water pump going at it (oo-er) which has me a tad worried. Any advise boys(/girls) ?
  13. Ooohh, St Andrews eh, nice one, I'm surprised we didnt already organise to meet up...
  14. At the moment I'm just like "nah, I'm not getting it, there was no deposit", makes the wait a whole lot easier if I just try and forget the car, and thats easier said than done ....
  15. Aye tis a shame that its working out the way that it is, I just have to wait longer to get the car, should still be grateful though eh hehe
  16. ziderapple: I'm a dentist mate Walesy: I'm waiting for a surgery to be up and ready which I will start working in, so its not that I have no job, I'm just in between jobs. But the thing is, when I placed my deposit, I did not see this period of unemployment, hence me pushing it further from this Sept to next year, and cheers :)
  17. Its funny you say that Kev cos the minimum I have seen it quoted is at 515bhp. I put a £3,500 deposit last May , and my initial arrival date was Sept 2009, then for some reason it got pushed to Summer 2010. Then recently I found out the date was 25th Sept, BUT, because I am not working at the moment, I asked them to push it back to Summer 2010 (you can imagine my dissapointment). I have ordered the Black Edition, (black paint, black wheels, black and red leather, touchscreen satnav - £57,400). I was going over the options with the HPC and for rear parking sensors (which ok, I wouldnt usually agree with, but have you seen the size of the a$$ on that thing  ) its £350, for front parking sensors another £350. For daytime running lights, £1k   (which I'm not going for, I dont think they are worth £1k, not for me anyway), I did however opt for the tracker, £1k which includes the first year subscription. And yeh, it doesnt lose any forward momentum at all. Hehe, when I got in the car, the salesman said "you want Auto or Paddleshift", now in my head am thinking "erm, I'm gonna need all my concentration on the road with the speed that this thing flies with", that'll be auto thank you
  18. I wish I could help you with useful advice but I know next to nothing compared to the rest here so I will leave the advice to those who are more knowledgable. My reason for posting is that I would like to request that you take pictures at each stage and keep us updated as to what you are planning and doing :D
  19. Not too long from now :D And yeh, they really are a lot of fun. I think to extract the most out of them, need to go tracking at least...
  20. I just had a test drive in a GTR this friday past, and f00k me, bejesus that thing is a beast of a machine!!!!!!! Supple enough in comfort setting around town, and to be honest, we went on a b-road with the shockers set to Race mode and even then it didnt get upset, I hit 120mph a couple of times without realising it, and even over the bad road surfaces, it simply just does not lose any traction! This thing just piles on the speed! The gear changes on this thing, man you have to experience it to understand the slickness, the smoothnes, the speed of the changes, upshift, downshift, whatever, you dont feel a thing and its instant (near enough). You pootle around town at speeds of 35mph and its in 6th gear, plant the foot anad woohoo, it shifts down a few gears and the fun starts! And 34mph, in 6th gear, its perfectly sensible and quiet. The grip on this thing is phenomenal and the steering, man alive, its so direct, 2.6 lock to lock, everything in this car is just so tight!!! Obviously I didnt take it to any sort of limit so i cant really comment on understeer/oversteer but even at decent speeds around the back roads, the car is just so easy to drive with soooooo much more to give. I thought it would be all electronical and just numb but its not the case, even in comfort mode (which did surprise me) there is enough feedback, put it in race mode and theres a whole lotta feedback, it feels mechanical, it feels real, it feels small, it feels like a toy! Make no mistakes about it, this car is big, its huge, it absolutely dwarfs the corrado, but the funny thing is it doesnt feel big at all. It feels small, it feels light, now obviously I didnt go around chucking it like I would my corrado so I cant compare exactly but we all know the front end of the VR6 is heavy and its obvious when compared to the G60, this just doesnt feel heavy at all! And the brakes, even with them cold are amazing, with good feedback also. I dont think I have ever been this excited about a car since when I was going to buy my corrado! Nothing but praise for it!
  21. I just got a TechTonics (with dual Borla mufflers) fitted today from Awesome GTI, (ordered from Mr Schimmel from across the pond - great service) and although I dont really have any quality exhaust (supersprint, miltek etc) to compare it to except my original VW exhaust, I have to admit, I think I would prefer the burble to be even quieter at lower speeds and on throttle. I much preferred the volume of the OEM exhaust at lower speeds and on throttle, or am I just getting old? It's not loud by any means, just louder than the standard one and I enjoyed the "invisible" exhaust, ie no sound... At motorway speeds it's actually quite quiet and I am happy with it at those speeds. What is anyone else's opinion on the burble at lower speeds and on throttle compared to the original exhaust?
