  1. I didn't know that changing the speed rating will affect the insurance, damn, thanks a lot for telling me, I'll get that checked out. Phew, thank you VERY much for pointing that out.
  2. Well, I still want to have the option of being able to go above 120mph ya know, especially if my theory is proved wrong and I go back to z rated tyres. But if I stick to the H rated tyres, I will definitely consider that choice, thanks. Now, how would I go about getting that done? DOnt suggest doing it myself cos I wouldnt have a clue Your help is greatly appreciated btw, thanks :)
  3. £50 is better than I expected anyway, sounds good... now to only quickly wear out the remaining tread on my Avon ZV3s.... :D Thanks kevhaywire
  4. Well, I don't plan on going above 130mph, heck, I dont plan on even reaching 120mph so I'll be safe with H rated even if VW dont suggest using them. No ideas of which ones to go for at all??
  5. Lol, 4 posts and not one recommendation, just wonderful, LMAO! The size I need is 205/50 R15
  6. I was wondering, if I was to go for an H rated tyre (as oppose to V or Z or whatever), which one is the best to go for? I want to try out a theory, hence the H rated. Thanks in advance
  7. Actually no, I havent changed the battery, but I get a guy who checks these things to come and check. He has like £30k worth of equipment (computerised) in the back of his van and he checks all sorts and made the sure the battery as up to standard along with other things. So although I haven't changed the battery, I'm pretty sure (on his recommendation) that there should be no problems with it.
  8. I sometimes am right next to the car and still wont work, I doubt there is a discrepancy in the range. On a side note, I hopefully plan on getting a tracker put in, any ideas which is the best one to go for?
  9. But I have had interference at home a lot, and at other times it's fine, no problems at all, weird.
  10. Is that really the only problem then? Why is the fob messing up?
  11. As some of you may already know, I bought a Storm about a month ago. Since I have bought, I have had the fob fail on me a number of times. Now it's fine if it happens in the morning, no one will see me in my garage fumbling away, but when you get out of UGC cinemas with your friends when it's raining and the fob doesnt work, you look like an idiot. Recently it's started to happen more. I heard the connections come loose in the fob or something, so I just put some tissue to ensure pressure the back plate and the chipboard when the fob closes. I thougth that had solved the problem but it hasn't. Can someone please suggest a solution? I know I should get another alarm system, which I will, but I don't have the money for that right now. So essentially I need a reparative solution. Thanks in advance. Oops, sorry, it was fitted with a Clifford Concept 300 by an approved dealer by the previous owner.

    Help

Hhhmmm, I think part of the underseal is already damaged :( How should I go about getting it fixed?

    Help

I did use a towel (or rather my old t-shirt folded up a few times) but the jack I use seems smaller than other jacks I've seen (although is enough for 2 tonnes). I think it's best I gets me a full sized trolley jack from Halfords eh, thanks Supercharged.

    Help

Thats what I meant to say, it's what I used, and the part that contacts the car left indentations on the rail..... is that normal?

    Help

But the manual doesnt show an underview of the car where it should go. I didnt use the jack that comes with the car, I use anothe rone and the bit that contacts the car is circular (bascially no slot) therefore the rail had indentations where the edges of the circular bit from the jack met the car. Should I have only used the jack that came with the car? Tightening the wheels while the car is on the ground should be ok yeh? I only need to jack up if all the bolts on a single wheel are loose, correct?

    Help

Nice to learn from other people's experiences, I will check them once again, thanks Blown. PS: Can someone please show me a diagram of where the jack should go to lift the car? I'm 99.9% I placed it right, but when I removed the jack, I could see indentations of where the jack was holding the car up, but I couldnt see any marks from any previous jack-ups..... why is that???

    Help

I actually checked all the bolts properly as soon as all the wheels were on, and head lining is still fine. No scrapes on the inside of the alloys, and I wouldnt have expected any marks anyway since these were the original alloys that the car came with that I put on. I am going from 17" to 15" Actually, a better description is that I honestly thought I had a puncture. It sounds as if I was running with no air on both front tyres.

    Help

Hey everyone, I just took off my aftermarket wheels and put the standard ones back on today. I then went somewhere and came home with the standard wheels on and everything was one. I had to go out again after about 1 hour and on this second journey, I noticed that when I slow down (not braking, just easing off the gas and letting the engine do the braking) I notice a weird noise that I had never come across before. I sounds as if I have stuck a piece of cardboard on the brake calipers and it is getting caught in between the alloys as the spokes go round (except a deeper sound than it would be with a cardboard). Can someone please help me, what can possibly be wrong? Could I have damaged something while changing wheels? Is there something I should check? Please help, I'm getting really paranoid... :(
  19. Just a n00b question, why did they need replacing? Is it "normal" wear and tear?
  20. The Recaro's were an option on all C's - not exclusive to the Storm. That's what I meant to say..
  21. Anybody know how to get a hold of the optional Recaro on the Storm? I have the standard leather but I so badly want to get a hold of the Recaro that were the option and have them retro fitted? Any help guys? But I have to say, I drove for about 6 hours in the C when I bought and I found them extremely comfortable, no problems at all.
  22. I know exactly what you mean, and I too want to add things and whatnot. But I am going to sell the existing alloys and put the original ones back on, I would want it back to the standard condition. Especially since it's a modern classic.
  23. I thought for sure I would change to a short shift kit whenI got my VR6, but the more I drive, the more I love it, regardless of the long throw. Nevertheless, I am still interested which way to go if I ever wanted to change and how much it is likely cost, so I second mark's question.
  24. Classic green on my Storm :)
  25. That looks absolutely beautiful, nice one :)
