The only problem is that if i ever sell, I'll do it here first and no-doubt something like that will not be missed so I would ideally like to have everything cosher!
-
Thanks Dies this mean then that because the engine was replaced for a like-for-like, that I possilby don't need to update my log book?
-
Hi everyone, Just a quick one for you all, my log book needs updating with a new vin no, as the engine was recently replaced. Problem is .....where do i find the VIN? Is it attached to anything in particular? Thanks

Don't Sell the C, I've done it before and regretted it for 6 years! Wife took the opportunity to get pregnant twice so I had to get a passat for the child seats. Got a VR6 now and I'm keeping it till it falls apart. I've already had the engine changed, chains and tensioners re-done, so stick with it, they are just so enjoyable to drive. Knocks spots off any Golf (I've had 2) handling is not as good and they are as common as hell. I always get heads turning with my C, probably cause it soooooo dirty!!

Afternoon All, this has been bugging me for a while now, with the cold winter snap we had/are having I generally let my VR6 warm up for @10 mins before setting off. I've heard conflicting reports that this can damage bearing's etc and is not generally recommended. However the car is freezing in the morning and by running the motor for the first 10 mins, it allows everything to free up a bit as well as me switching on my car & seat heating. What do you all think, idle or not? :?:

PS, Its a L - plater so I think it would have the 16 pin "OBD2" style connector

Evening All, Just had my chains and tensioners replaced, and it occured to me that since I've had my VR6, I've not done a Vag-com on it! Is there anyone up here that has Vag-com and is willing to run it on my Corrado? There Beer's to be had!   Please??

How long have you had your corrado?

8 months for me, 4 month dead and 4 months running, not sure which 4 months were more frustrating!! -
"I'll still admire everyone elses when I see them on the road, and in time the cost, pain and irritation of owning a C will fade and the memories will be fond" My thoughts exactly when I sold my first Corrado, which was a 1.8 8V, however, I too admired everyone else's Corrado, which turned to envy, the pain never passed you see and now I have a VR6, which is nice. I hope it works out for you and maybe its just me.... Good luck M8

1)No, as I get paid for my travelling time so I'm never in a hurry to go anywhere, 2) Yes, as long as I get my sandwich first

Morning All, My wing mirrors are in a terrible state, the actual shell is fine, its the mirrors themselves. The question is does anyone know if VW still supply these? I've checked Ebay etc, but no joy. Can't seem to find any decent breakers up here (middlesbrough) Thanks

OK, Its happened this morning again, I took the long way to work wich was @14 miles, and purposely got stuck in some traffic, after @45 mins I got to work and the clicking noise was still there, I'm not sure exactly how to describe it, it is coming from the left side of the engine, standing from the fromt of the car. The clicking seems to follow the revs, could it be just the timing?
-
Typical, no noise at all tonight, should the chains need looking at yet? She's done 94k, I've read about corrado's doing over 150k with no probs!
-
I'll have a butchers on the way home later ta all
-
I don't think so, the noise is a constant ticking, it does sound like the tappet noise but slightly quieter. what would I be looking for?
-
Also, As my drive is on country roads, the engine is warmed up nicely, if it is the chains, how long have I got to sort them out? I ask because my Corrado is a daily runer and I'll have no other car in the meantime.
