yea dude new allen bolts a must i snapped two 8mm allen keys trying to get them out was not fun

where do you get them at 32 bucks a corner mate

how do i remove seized and now partially rounded caliper carrier bolts HELP car is now stranded on axle stands whose idea was it to use allen head bolts anyway :mad: :mad: :mad:

check all your earth straps mate i had similar problem and tried all sorts and changing the earth stap form the battery ,chassis and alt

i did mine with a G clamp as i tightened the g clamp the piston turned own its own as it went in

i,ve got same colour car as you mate and i painted mine yellow hammerite smooth and they set the car off a treat just about to replace the rears and do the same to them

i would try the earth strap i had all sorts of starting and running problems before replacing it try cleaning up the connections first and see if that makes any difference

i've just changed my radiator without taking the bumper off wasn't that bad took me 3 hours with a tea break there is a quick guide on here somewhere simple steps are : drain system whilst draining remove battery and move all cables out the way once drained remove top and bottom hoses and temp sensor bend hose's back to give more space remove grill and undo bolts that hold the rad on to the two sidepanels on and push them out to the sides this will help you tilt rad forward for more space. unbolt the fan setup to remove you have to wiggle it along towards the empty battery space whilst lifting the end until it's vertical and you can slip it out same goes for rad. the rad has 2 rubber washers on pegs on the bottom these will be needed for the new one. putting the new one in is the hard bit i put the rad in but left it sitting loose so you can tilt it foward then slip the fan in behind, bolt the fan to the rad and then locate the rad on the pegs and bolt it back up. i found it to be a lot easier than people on here were making out and i'm by no mean's an expert with the spanners just remember to re-fill the rad from the the top hose to prevent an air lock. this is very brief any questions give me a shout but give it a go you will save a packet on labour

i'm sure i was told it's not a good idea to take it down to the metal for a respray something about the new paint getting a better "bite" into the old stuff rather than going back to metal then priming up again

when i bought a vr6 filter from the dealer i got a sump washer and filter case gasket in the box with it :shock: :shock: i was totally dumb struck is this common practice which i strongly doubt or was it a fluke???

i hit about 140 just as i went over a small crest before a long down hill section and the car felt like it almost lifted of the ground :shock: :shock: :shock: was followed by swift application of the brakes back to legal speeds and even swifter changing of the boxers cause they were full to the neck :oops: :oops: :oops:

What are the symptoms of knackerd rear axle bushes it started off with the rear passenger side crashing loudly over potholes and bumps but both sides sound shot now can you change them yourself i've read else where that its a big job someone on here must have done them and could tell me the script also is it best to stick to OE or would an upgrade be a better idea thanks guys

i think its time for people to act their age :shock: :shock: sounds like writing on the alloys was supposed to be a joke which has back fired it could have been funny if they were'nt damaged in the process!! It's now up to the person who did it to be a man and have the balls to own up and he and struan can sort it out between them the chat about not being a grass is totally schoolboy stuff
