  1. Well I checked all the voltages etc and the maximum drop was 0.4v so that’s not a problem. However, I have taken my lights apart and think I have found the problem; the reflectors are not so good! They have lost a lot of shiny, and cracked in some places. The lenses are just fine and in the parts washer as we speak (dishwasher ) What can I do about the reflectors, is it new head light time? I decided to give the black outer a try since I may have to get new reflectors anyway
  2. OK so if i get a reading what does that mean? I measured from the 12+ of the bulb to the battery neg Cheers for the thermo switch question also mate, all sorted now!
  3. AH!!! i may well try that cheers
  4. I get a good 13.8v at the lights when car is running so dont think there is any problem there.

  8. I saw that vid of veedub_rados car, it did look nice and rapid for a 16v. But i am afraid that i must agree with everyone the g40 is like 600-700Kg (ish) and running plenty bhp and the corrado is fat lol
  9. Im not keen on the suspension design TBH good other than that! I had a GT and i loved it, even that was 8v gti fast
  10. they seem ok, but i havent been inside to have a look. As for the bulbs i guess that they are likely not as good as the silverstars but they cant be all that bad, my mate is only using normal bulbs... What should i look for on the lenses?>
  11. I have an updated loom and halfords 50% brighter bulbs and whilst my lights are much better than before they arte still not up to the standard of my mate’s mk3 golf. What more can be done? Should I go for 80/100w bulbs? What fuse should i run in my loom? Should I take the lights apart and clean the inside of the lenses? Any other ideas? cheers

    Gear knob

its easy done, take off gaiter cover , there are some screws on the bottom to secure it to the plastic. I picked up a red universal one at a show. I used the existing plastic clip/ring from the top of my old one. There you go worst explanation ever! BAsically you will see how to do it with the plastic bit off

  17. timing maybe. no amount of cooling will work if its to lean... May be worth checking both static and ignition over.
  18. No. Off a mk1 will fit As for the gt2, if you get a late nice speced one just go for it! not the fastest but a solid (often more so than older roccos) car that will do its job. Stick a weber on it and enjoy!
