well maybe, but they both state 50% and the halfords ones are made by a wwll known motor company (GM LOL) so the should be ok... will soon see :-)
-
make sure you do em in teh same order as the 1.3 mk2 engine... other than that and what has been said its easy

adjust the lights. both sets have some degree of movement. take the plastic over off the inside of the boot lid and you will see nuts that can be loosened to allow movement of the light blocks. On the square sections each side has a nut hidden under the rubber grommet . 8mm socket I believe

Well guys i got a set of halfords (hellfrauds lol) super bright bulbs (50% brighter) At the moment there is a deal for buy one get on free so the set came to £12.99.. so far the look good but have only tested in day light. will report back after drive home from work at 10 tonight, but £12.99 seem good to start with.

I have upgraded my loom, so now I need to get it set up correctly and get some nice bright bulbs. I have turned the light adjusters a few times so the lights aim higher which has helped. Is there a way to align the light correctly? i.e park 10 foot from a wall and…..etc Which bulbs can I get that are bright and cheap? Cheers p.s the loom made loads of differance :)

ABS is the bees. having had a time before I fixed the system on my C I know what it was like with and with out. Tests on a wet hill where I live really showed me how shocking stopping distances could be! with abs (and the peddle pulsing like mad) I stopped in about half the distance. Also it helps for those moments when a 'loone' pulls in front of you at high speed. Not to mention the odd rear wheel lock I used to have, not since abs fixed. may as well keep it, should imagine that it will be even better with bigger discs cos should cut in more etc..

I try and let her warm up but lets face it is often no possible when you live near fast roads etc.. Also my car has no power till about 3K so it has to be done to pull out etc some times. Mind you once its halfway water and 80+ oil she gets living hell removed via the gearbox lol ;-) I did have a mk5 golf with one of those fancy double clutch auto boxes as a hire car. Came to me with 57 Miles and left with 650 and a slightly slipping auto box that seemed to jerk a bit on take off :?:
