  1. yeah, doesn't really need it. But i really want it and think its important that a showcar gets better and better rather than becoming stale same at every show, every year. Going to look at a potential new project/daily driver on friday!! Hope i'm doing the right thing, really don't want to have to cut corner with the C because of another car or even lose interest in the C!! Just had enough of borrowing company cars and being stranded if ones not available.
  2. Been making progress, bit slow at the moment as money is tight so lots of bits have been prepped but not been able to get them chromed up. Didn't what to bore everyone will dull stuff, but since you asked. Stripped the selector tower down completely and polished all the bits up so that will look really nice plated and fitted to the g/box. Various other bits have been polished too. Cleaned the car last weekend for VWSN but unfortuately it pissed it down so it stayed at home. While cleaning it i was gutted to find that the inlet had become pitted over winter. Luckily i still have my old manifold so i've started to sand it down and going a little further with this one. The previous one was just polished and chromed and to be honest i was never totally happy with it. Also think we'll be seeing alot more chromed manifolds this year so time to move. Pic attached, if you know your manifolds you'll see a few mods already before i start welding it. Got a second hand cylinder head for a bit of a play. If all goes well it will be gas flowed and possibly fitted with shrick big valves + something special. Not sure if big valves are a good idea though with the turbo? There maybe also be a change in the company doing the turbo conversion too but can't say to much at the moment but fingers crossed. Reaaaaally want them to do it!! They've agreed to do it but theres a condition which is totally out of mine and their control.
  3. adamukcorrado, thanks for the cylinder head.
  4. Thanks. Anyone one else have any recommendations for good cylinder head companies? Heard Grant motorsport are good and maybe Grant Parker of Dubweiser?
  5. I really wanna make it over there this year. The car is absolutely eating up every expendable cent I have right now though. Hopefully I'll be able to put something together by the time september rolls around! know that feeling.
  6. Sorted a spare cylinder head for rebuilding. Any idea's on the spec i should be aim for (engine will be a VR6T)? Obviously it will be gasflowed but should i be looking at any of the following Big valves Should the factory tappets be switched for solid ones? Factory or uprate valve springs Sodium valves Different cams Anything else you can think of? Any recommendations for a companys to do the work?
  7. I'm i right in think these are the ribbed ones. most certainly Please put my name down for the first set of non ribbed chromed ones you get. cheers
  8. I'm i right in think these are the ribbed ones.
  9. Mines giving me grief even tho its brand new. Can you run the engine with the electrical connector unplugged?
  10. valve cover is awesome. How do you get the oil in tho? De-ribbed chain cover is cool too.
  11. can't go wrong with either IMO.
  12. doubt anyone will hate those! Looks wise you've go it down now. Time to start re-powdercoating the ream beam and subframes for a truely mint car.
  13. Post up your picks of some of memorable UK C's not currently on the scene + comments Jamie Simms, big look for not many mods!! Dave Preston, keep popping back up. Jim Kings very, very black valver. Used to see it all the time now MIA. Suk's SLC, soon to be back. Get a move on!! Steve Dentons, now running 20V power. Cheesy's creation with monster system. Daz Yate's near perfect storm. Probably the car that got me started. Double Zeros yellow Airride C, cool as you like. Martin Hylands 30k miles VR.
  14. I most definetly understand what you're saying. Sometimes I look at what I'm doing and say what have I gotten myself into. It's nice to look at & all but kinda impratical to use frequently. I figure that once the car gets in print & this years show season wraps up...I'll use it more frequently & try to enjoy it! [/quote:1e0a3] Ditto, enjoying mine as a runabout and pose mobile this year  Looking forward to seeing what surprises you have in store with the subframe!![/quote:1e0a3] Lee, I should have the rear subframe back sometime next week! I've invested somewhere around 60hrs. into the welding & smoothing. :? I put this together last night in my kitchen floor. Needless to say my girlfriend wasn't to happy with me! I'm about to get out of work in a few minutes to run over to the chromer...will take pic's & post them as soon as I can. Lata...[/quote:1e0a3] wow, liking that!
  15. here's the pics of the filler flap with deleted finger cut out. Bit i like is even looking inside the flap it looks factory with a return edge in the corner.
  16. love em :D where did ya get em? what fuel cap mod? I'll take a pic of the fuel filler flap and the filler cap.

  18. Blitz wax which you can buy from http://www.frost.co.uk , its nothing special. You don't really need expensive wax's like Zymol if you've got decent paint to start with. Just spent a couple of hours cleaning the paint ready for summer. Hopefully i'll get a chance to take some new pics which i've been promising since august  link to polish page:- http://www.frost.co.uk/productList.asp?catID=15
  19. yep, i'm in no hurry (yet!!), keep going into more and more detail which is delaying getting the car to dubsport. Plan was get the box built up by Steve Brear (still finding bits to chrome holding up the box) then get the car over to mark to start the turbo. Now i'm planning a very special cylinder head and possibly new pistons and rods. To be honest don't need them for 325bhp i'm aiming for but want the engine to run that power stress free. As long as the engine and box is in and running by the end of summer i'll be happy. Really looking forward to driving a VR6T thats been built ground up for the power.
  20. PiercedWinky, Went for bright red after seeing phat's pics on E38. I was going to re-coat them in the factory colour but bright red will make them stand out more as upgraded parts. They were bought secondhand of asim and had a few marks on them to i had to strip them down. billinjahg60, cheers bill. Found that pic yesterday on google image and thought is was one of the best i'd seen. Really like how much of santa pod you can is in the rear bumper. Pic was taken by rachel (central park). Here's another. Really impressed with her photography.
  21. liking the rad support, its gold plate scarily expensive?. Really looking forward to seeing the car in print!!!

    Nice...

Had a good look at this car at E38 2004. Seen it in pics for years and was star struck seeing it for real (still waiting to car Andre Cains in the metal). I was really please to be runner up to the car i rated at the time as the best in the world. Enginebay was the star for me, it really should have won best of show. Because it was!!
  23. Same as last year. Yeah, probably do a few more body mods while its in the booth and the wheels will probably change. Interior will go up a notch too. Biggest change, it will be miles faster!! Found a nice pic on the web.
