  1. very smart, wished I had the skill and the time to do things like this!
  2. Ok, managed fit the fans to the radaitor last night... good news, fits like a glove, no bending or tweaking of the brackets, literally just dropped straight on. stuck a new fan switch on, looking good now :)
  3. Dropped my fans onto my new radiator :) Was a good fit... no bending of brackets required...
  4. I've had a few bits from ECP for my C and my punto Grande..... including clutch, brake discs / pads for the PG.... my branch has always been helpful, luckily I live 5 minutes away from my nearest. Never had any problems with over the counter stuff apart from with the oil cooler seal, in the end I just went to VW as there database referenced the incorrect item based on the VW part number I gave them.. ticking noise

Always had racelands on mine, never had any issues to be fair, sounded different than with the cast iron on, but my new one has been ceramic coated this time... Cheers Pete
  6. I ordered a ring from http://www.autohaus-schlagheck.de/ on Saturday PM, and it arrived first thing this morning, nicely packaged too... Pretty happy. the quality of this ring is a lot better than the one I got from VW the other day as it seemed very brittle and started to crac around the peg things that push into the fan cowel... this one seems a little more flexible, so maybe the one I got last week was scraping the bottom of the barrel as it seems a few ppl on here have purchased them recently :) Pete
  7. I remember the connector on mine being a bit naff, a slight tweaking later it was better :)
  8. yeah 1k is a good price including engine / odbd upgrade :) will be worth it IMHO.
  9. Thats a myth.... highlines use the same engines as everyone other mk3 golf, its just cosmetic stuff that makes a highline, a highline.
  10. Golfs came with the AAA engine, which is 2.8. I'm not aware of any OBD2 2.9's from factory, unless maybe from abroad / syncro's ?
  11. dont forget, it will all depend how healthy the donor engine is too..... personally, I'd ODB2. I'm just about to do mine in a couple of weeks to my 2.9 ABV
  12. This thread details what is involved converting to OBD2.. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?54148-How-to-fit-wire-install-obd2
  13. Morning chaps :) My new radiator arrived today... very happy, as it's all as it should be. very impressed with the quality... The shipping note from Hella stated the retail price is £162, and I got it for £86 + VAT / £10 shipping so all in all £115~ so cant complain. not sure if that companies prices go up .... very professional guys, very keen to help to resolve the issue for me. hopefully my new fan switch will arrive today, and I can get that installed later, with some good old plumbers tape on the thread to help seal it better.... Will mount my fans to the radiator once my new guide ring has arrived, which will hopefully be before 12/13th of the november so I can just drop it all back in as the front of the car is off anyway that weekend. hopefully will last it's time as StueyB has proven already. hopefully a better alternative and cheaper than ECP... Happy Pete = Happy Corrado!
  14. There is a print view on the CF forum but it doesn't display any the photos...
  15. Heres how it looks in print view: http://the-corrado.net/printthread.php?t=54148&pp=10&page=1 as you can see, the embedded pics don't display :) Dave, thanks buddy, PM incoming :)
  16. sweet... My car actually lives in my garage, but I do have a condensing dryer in there too, but that kicks out fluff and my garage is quite big, with a loft always find loads of dust and crap on the car after only a few days, so I wanted something keep all this off over the window months... colour doesnt both me :) silver is a nice dashing colour :)
  17. Kev, http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?54148-How-to-fit-wire-install-obd2 The pictures display fine in the thread, its just when switching the print view it doesnt render the photos, but instead the link almost as if the URL has not been wrapped around the IMG BB codes... Pete
  18. 19. strange... I just get the URLs instead of the actual photos. is it possible you can print it to a pdf and send me a copy, Dave? Cheers Pete
  20. I want to print out the ODB2 conversion thread.... When I select print view, it doesnt display the photos... anyone have any ideas? Cheers Pete
  21. My old man is buying me a car cover for Christmas, was just wondering what peoples opinions are on what to buy for 25 - 30 quid. Also, what size would I need to get to fit the Corrado under? Cheers guys :) Ho Ho Ho! Pete
  22. Be up for the rear bulb holder as mine is on its way..... obviousley wings and bonnet next year :) Pete
  23. Had a good weekend on the Corrado :) I've now 95% rebuilt the fan assembely, I'm just waiting on a ring guide to come from Germany before I can re-fit to my new radiator - which my new one did come on Friday, but due to a manufacuing fault with the tank being fitted upside down, its been sent back this morning and i'm currently awaiting a new one to be sent out... but the chaps have been really good and helpful.. Here is the fan assembely; I've now rebuilt the OBD 2 inlet manifold, just need to give a final buffing before fitting and finish polishing a few bolts... bit fitted the throttle body, new gasket and new bolts to that :) Big update on the inside of the car tooo.... finally finished putting the interior back together! Fitted a new screen demister bowden cable due to it being kinked, which caused the old heater controls to fail. fitted new clips on the other bowden cables, and re-installed the heater controls, this was like a surgical procedure putting it back together. The bowden cables where a pain in the a$$ as they were right up in the dash... To finish off the interior, I installed my new head unit, so all good now!! Just about to order a new front silencer today, another 63 quid. but last of the big spend on it for a while I think :) 12th / 13th November will be the weekend of the OBD2 upgrade and fitting the new gearbox, front silencer, and re-fitting radiator! Hopefully, bar a few small bits, its ready for MOT!! well... need swap the wheels first :) - Pete
  24. Strange. Dealer I went said that it was the last he could get!! Ive ordered one from Germany now anyway!
