    being swapped out monday.

  2. Well the radiator arrived today :)

Bad news is the tank on the side that doesnt have the hoses on is upside down :(

so the lug thing that secures it to the cross member is on top.

the guys are being really helpful as it looks to be a manufacturing fault and getting one send out ASAP.

    heres how it should look....

It is a hella radiator too FYI....

  3. Small Update :)

Some of the bits in the engine bay were looking a little rough...

The condition of the fan cowel wasnt brilliant, and did blow through in areas when being sand blasted... :( but i thought it would have been alot worse!!!

It looks a lot better than before, looks mint from the top, so really its more preservation on the bottom more than anything....

  4. Does anyone know where I could get a replacement seal for my radiator fan switch?

looked on VAG-CAT cant find a part number?

I'm just doing a big overhaul on my radiator and want a new seal as a matter of course...

    Cheers

  5. Physical fit is one thing but the fact most pattern rad's i've seen are slightly thinner with less cooling fins than the original is slightly worrying, especially on a Car like the Corrado which needs as much cooling capacity as you can get!

What about the 670mm A/C rad - still available?

Would be interesting to see what running temp people are getting with aptten part radiators.... However, maybe newer designs are more efficent these days, like with everything.... house radiators are thinner these days and more efficent, computer CPU heatsinks are generally smaller and are more efficent, so why not with car radiators? speaking from a pure logical point of view :)

  6. :) no worries mate

The only thing I do see is it being a little shorter than the original? Would this cause any issues with the top radiator L shaped mounts at all?

If the sensors are indeed in the same location, I will probably take a pun and buy it, will take some photos etc... for your reference, I'll only be doing

  7. My rad has several leaks, the cowel is at the powder coaters and got all new bolts on order from VW, managed crack the elbow off my current radiator tonight, it's in pretty good shape.

Wouldn't mind a new seal and bolts while I'm at it mind....

I've been offered a new hella radiator at a good price, far cheaper than ecp but dont know what do now... Mmmm

  8. I too have a second car, I think taking the Corrado off the road over winter will make you apreciate it more, theres more of a chance more parts will need replacing if its a daily driver...

i've had my Corrado VR6 for over 2 years now, and only in march next year will it see some tarmac! It's been stood while I've been rebuilding it and fixing her up!
