Theres another thread covering that car - not sure whats going on there, some freak occurance of nature i think.

:) I have that kind of effect as well

So what does everyone reckon - are we going to see a rise in prices over the summer or a continuation of the current downward trend? There seems to be a lot of cars going cheap on the bay still and the autotrader shows an average of 1.0 - 1.5k for 16v's, 2k G60, 3k vr6... I am hoping they go up as there may be a chance that i might have to sell and downgrade for a while..

PBSTORM, this sounds like a bugger to nail down - I hope you find your fix mate!

Welcome to the forum! And welcome to VR ownership! and i know just what you mean about not being able to stop driving it. In my house i am always the first to volunteer if we ever need anything out! Regards to your dip. Pop open your bonnet and look to the right under the wing and to the right side of your battery. You should then see a yellow plug / connector which is tacked onto the side (see pic) - take this off check the contacts are clean and then make sure you plug back in nice and firmly. That may solve it, can't guarantee, its the dip connector. Someone else will no doubt come along with a better suggestion if that does not help. -
I am sure I could proberbly do this..will send you an email toby.

Do have your phones bluetooth 'Discoverable' setting as on?
-
That looks really professional - comes across as being long established. Good work!

I would love a garage - but still i have a drive which is better then leaving it on the road.

Depends on PCD as well - M15 VW's are five stud and quite rare now, 4 studs are a lot more common so not as much dosh. As a hasty estimate i have seem them (4 stud a's) go for as little as £150 or average £350-450 German ebay always have a load on there so you can ref that as your source.

Other than the spring/shock kit - what else do I need?

Got to ask this - who is the Phrim? -
Gutted - one of my fave cars as well. Was there any cctv around where it happended?
-
Yep - suprising the amount of cr6p can get down the plug wells.
-
Thew not an easy one - i would just start checking all of your contacts are clean and not erroded MAF connector, HT Leads etc etc. Also get a VAG-COM on it - that could save you a lot of time. I am far from an expert and i am sure someone will come along who could help better, or tell you i am talking bull.

Mar5y, I would say its a good buy, prices are up and down at the moment and we can always think in hindsight (maybe i should have haggled a bit more). Don't dwell on it mate - you got a car that if you look after it well should give you another 200k :)

I would have the same reaction as ZippyVR6 - However if it came to putting on school roads around the entrance or crossings, I would support to the end - but you can only imagine most of them getting in a 6am Sunday shift.
-
I heard about this as well - and you can just imagine the type who would just love to volunteer and do it.

the low riders were cool

Mainly beatles and buses, but still.
-
Stunning - black badge round off the front really well.
-
I think about this happening quite a bit - tell me if i was to tack razor blades along the inside of the grill slats, would i have any come back from the law. I mean if people can cement glass onto the top of there walls, what would be so different? Only joking - but it pees me off big style. Anyone remember when the beastie boys started wearing v-dub badges around there neck, there was not a safe dub in town. OrbitAl, you may have some difficulty sourcing the vr6 badge from GSF, hate to say dude but they are discontinued. Edit: Bad idea anwyay.Tthey are only going to seek revenge on my paintwork.

B6stards - chop there hands off.
-
Crazy - what i don't get is, why convert a LHD to a RHD, in a country that builds LHD cars as standard for driving on the right handside of the road ??????
-
Are you sure you guys were'nt talking to one another and were just sh1t faced to remember? :)
