Might have to let them in on the peanut butter tip.....maybe not
-
dubenvy will be a good one to comment on this as he owns a g40 and a vr6 - from what i recall he has shocked a few rado owners in his g40.

You need the tools and the know how (goes without saying) and know how comes from watching and learning and having the resources to try stuff out. That lad in the video know doubt has an older brother / dad who knows what he is doing or has been / is an apprentice working in a garage (the engine mount / bench suggests that). To approach a task like that on your jack jones armed with just a set of spanners and haynes manual would make it inevitable that you are going to hit a few major screw up's (not the right tools, wrong sequence of build etc). Thats why it took me 4 hours last weekend to jack up my car and change the coolant :) I had not done it on a rado before & did not have a clue where the drain plug was (still think thats dumb place) - so i had to take my time and stop myself whenever i thought i may have the wrong approach. That task would have taken someone 30mins who has done it before. But next time i do it will hopefully take me 2 hours :) So thats kind of why i post here - to gleam knowledge (and waste time at work) . My main job has some people look at me like i am some sort of super skilled egghead, but in hindsight all i have done is carry the bag for someone who had time and experience in the industry until i was at the level to be let lose myself. * EDIT bad spelling

vwfastg60, if your a 'newbe' carrying out all that work - that must make me unborn as yet. Really nice car, makes me want to a get a red rado really does.

Has anyone has one of these fitted to a vr? I had a search and found a post from 2003 which did not let unto much. Apparently they improve throttle response and help iron out flat spot http://modtrader.potn.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=618_619_653&products_id=1600627

Fiesta yeah matey and a 1.1 i hasten to add.

2.8 v6 with a twin turbo stands at 265 bhp at just 5,800 I stand corrected :) I am sure you can get them up to 400 horses
-
They are fast as feck (400 odd bhp stock) - looking at paying a fair whack though, but well worth it...I don't know much other then that though.
-
Working now - I do hope that when they release the rivo or riva (next rocco / rado) in 2008 they don't make an advert where they drop a rado from a helicopter. I will be posted peezed if they do and have to write to my MP.
-
What are you using for playing an mp4 - I only get audio :(
-
You Canadian owners have some really nice rado's.
-
I would be interested in seeing that.

Hi - welcome to the forum. I have never had to remove the light / sunroof console, but there are loads of owners on here who have, who I am sure will offer some help. Whereabouts are you posting from? US or canada?
-
Gave her a full flush and filled her up with G12+ in prep for the colder days & nights. And then thought 'why not' and gave her a wash :)
-
Here you go - to get at it best, jack up the car, crawl under from the front (drivers side). and look directly up:
-
wow - so please you got out of that okay. That make's my previous prangs look trivial
-
I am sure these guys will if anyone: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/opendiag/

Same as the area in the pic? I used this point but as was posted earlier it left an indentation even when using both a rubber block or wood (i heard a loud creak which was enough to put me off)

Tiff Needell / Top Gear G60 vid - see P9 for download :!:

Thats not good enough  -
think i am getting somewhere now - so i should jack onto the area with the two blots as in your original pic (position tolley jack crown around the bolt nearest to the rear of the car) - where would then be the best place to mount the car onto an axle after that?

Thats what i was thinking? Is there a new thread or something??? -
Watching this one Paul. Mine need replacing as they look a slight on the manky side. Thinking i may just go standard with a border.
