I think you'll just have to live with it! I've had my Corrado attacked twice in around 2 months but I've no option but to leave it where it is :(

I've raced the ex owner of my rado, who has a mk 2 gti, from about 40 on a dual carriage way,...I beat him..

Unlucky dude, I know how you feel, I last few months I've been feeling like sh*t, and a drive in the Rado always cheered me up, it isn't driving at the mo so it means I'm stuck here all the time! Maybe this could be a good thing for you, new engine possibly, 20v?
