Looking forward to hopefully picking up my S3 next weekend!! Shame it's for the misses to use though.... :(
-
I bought one from VW but it was completely the wrong leather and colour.

Lost my keys - whoops, found them in a bad place

you lucky bastard. -
A goo dmate of mine was having trouble selling his vr. Wanted £6500 at first. After a good few months said he would take £5000 for it. So even though I didnt actually need/want another car I bought it. However if it hadn't of been a VR with leather I'd have never considered buying any corrado.
-
being a corrado, I'd go for the second one!

Only plate my car has ever had is N8 VRG.... can blame VW for that one! You probably won't like my plate on my polo then either paul. D11 BNV. A little bit of illegal spacing and a dodgy number plate screw and hey presto, DUB NV. Just a shame that D reg plates are expensive. £799 all in from the DVLA.

Lovely looking c. Was only flicking through your thread on vortex a couple of days ago.

I have whole months like that.

Look nice! I was gonna say they needed a ride stripe round them until I read the post about it needing to be lighter!! Had to go back and have a second look at the pic!! Not sure that a bright red would look any good on a blackberry car though..

my plan waas to do my interior first, then engine, then bodywork...... but.. The diff went, so decided to do the engine first. Timing chains, clutch, and diff. When the engine was out, found out that I needed new water/oil pumps, new sump, head rebuild, 6-branch as my exhaust mani was cracked... but.... Crashed the car on the way to G-werks for the engine work. So the bodywork has been brought forward! Only the interior left to do, and as I'd already been buying everything I needed (TV headunit, 'scape doorpods and rainbows, DDI dials/rings and red LEDs to convert all the switches) I dont needto buy much more. Just need sound deadening and a few more stereo bits. Obviously nothing no 'plan' is ever complete. Already wanting some new rims for when all the bodywork is done, but some 'plans' are always too expensive....

I have no seats or trim left inside the car. Only things left are the dash and the carpets. Not overly fusses about dust as all the windows are still in at the mo anyway. I'm also not worried about stuff being lent against it as every panel is being repainted anyway. I'm just not anal enough to request that he wraps it in cotton wool. It's been three months now since I crashed it. The engine is near on ready to go back in. I think Darren is just waiting for the gearbox to come back.

Yeah figured that a more modern Rover front end might suit the rado! I guess those red things on the bonnet are the arches off the mini next to it..
-
Went to the bodyshop last weekend to see how the car was coming along...... well. it's inside at least!! It's not a bad looking storage rack! Said that the front end damage and door handle conversion should be satrting last week... won't be able to get down to have a look til next week.

He was making a healthy amount of money for the packiging and time to post, as there is no way he was charged £100 to send a set of rims.

If this isn't the fastest Corrado in the world then what is?
dub envy replied to PhatVR6's topic in General Car Chat
Surely that aint 1/4 mile?? I've seen bikes at the pod doing 135mph terminal with 10 sec passes. Wouldnt a 5 sec 1/4 be way over 200mph? -
Ordered mine the other night on ebay!! Picking up some moonlight blue from VW tomorrow! Yay for moding models!
-
there are pics on the first page of my Polo, but herea re some different ones..

Should be at the bodyshop by now. They have quoted 5-6 weeks. Darren is stomping along with the VR rebuild, and it should be all done by th eend of next week ready for the car to come back! I think I've just doubled the value of my Polo as it has near on a complete Corrado leather interior in it now!! I need more storage space.... The VR has gone from having the diff/clutch/timing chains to a pretty much full on rebuild! I think EVERY gasket and seal was leaking on the damn thing and the water pump was knackered. Darren then found that the oil pump was bent (MOT station smacked the sump on the floor last year and I thought the only damage was a very slight dent in the sump....) and when the head came off found that it needed a complete rebuild. Great. Money. Pit.

I'll definately be going agreed value once all the paint is done. Current state. Car is completely stripped. Interior is completely removed including headlining, ready to go to the bodyshop. Will be taken to the bodyshop tomorrow for a full respray. At the moment it's sat at G-Werks with no engine in it. Was getting an LSD, new clutch and timing chains fitted but has since got more involved. After removing the engine it was evident that I pretty much need every gasket replacing, and the water pump is knackered. Today the headcame off and needs a rebuild too. Sweet. Progress is pretty swift at the mo. The engine will be pretty much completely rebuilt with a few shiney bits and powder-coated gearbox fitted by the time the car comes back from Masters bodyshop after its new paint!

Hopefully it's going to him next Saturday for a shed load of work.

The insurance assesor wrote it off. He seemed to think that the £2600 repair quote was worth more than the car. Luckily Roger at RW Masters talked the dude round. Knocked £100 off the quote and he was happy with that. I'd have cried.

Was taking the cardown to g-werks for an LSD as my diff is clonking really badly. Haven't driven the car for a month and the battery was flat. Had to jump the car before I took it to littlehampton. So 2 minutes down the road from my house as I was adjusting the stereo (as it had lost all its presets) and crashed into the back of a polo. Should've known better as I've seen people crash in the samwe spot as the council have moved the bus stop which makes people have to brake through a set of traffic lights. Had time to brake but just locked up. Stupid thing is I was taking a new ABS sensor down to Darren.... So it's going to get some quotes down at L'hampton on monday (cheers Dal). I still have to check if my no-claims are protected or not. The Polo had a scratched bumper and the lower black plastic trim had popped out.

Bugger.

g-werks. I love Darren. I love him so much it makes my willy hurt. I bought my G40 with a 2,000 mile old Jabba build charger. 2 weeks later my charger was at Pitstop being rebuilt.
