dub envy

Mine passed it's MOT yesterday with only one sidelight bulb working and the side repeater bulb down in the inner wing!! It got an advisory for having a bonnet catch that wouldnt open, yet they didnt care that I have no rear view mirror. To$$er dented my sump though as he took it off the brake test rollers. :evil:

yup... tbh we didnt have any grief in which way the bushes went in, but after botling the subframe back up under the car we realised that like you did, we;d put the bloody arb in upside down!!! Doh!!

I dunno... I think it would be near on impossible to fit them back to front given the grief we had to fit them the correct way.

PITA to fit. But pretty hard to get them in the wrong way.

Yeah the front kit I was suplied had outer arb mounts, but The ends of the vr arb doesnt have them.... I was recommended to not go with Powerflex rear beam bushes as they can be a little unforgiving.

I've just fitted Powerflex ARB bushes to my VR... Maybe you are on about different ones. The ones at the back of the subframe?? They were exceptionally tight, and we dropped the complete subframe assembly out to fit them. Speak to Darren at G-werks. Thats where I got my bushes from.

yeah I've only seen a couple with the correct trim! I saw one at a show, pretty sure it was Paul Kippax that had diff trim on either side!! You know back to black aint gonna do it! Wait til you see mine on. It's your fault I've bought new headlights after parking next to you, so I'm gonna have to make you wanna buy some new trim!!

he has the sub in the boot, but not the 14 (or how eve rmany) speaker bose system. It has cc'd mirrors not chrome, it has 17's and not 18's, i'm pretty sure there is no cruise, there def aint parking sensors.. Compared to the S3 a fella used to have at my work it is quite basic spec. Beautiful, but basic. You dont see many grey ones either! Oh yeah, the first owner specified full leather but without the heating. The seats have the loom but there are no dash switches! Not that any of that really matters as the previous 2 owners looked after this car REALLY well.. When he went to view it the seller wouldnt let him see it until he'd leathered the rain off it!!! Those tyre pressures seem a little high!

hmmm tough choice.. S3 or R32. My mate had the same dilema. Like him, I think I would have gone with the S. His is beautiful inside. Full black leather... none of that gaudy blue alcantara rubbish. The sound, although similar, isnt like a mk4 gti. It seems to growl more than a Golf.

Stick some tape over it first to see if it is that that's causing the noise.

Jammy bugger picked up the plate from the DVLA for £250.. A cleverly placed numberplate screw and it will say S3 1.8T VERY suprised the plate hadnt already been taken! The car is beautiful. It's a bit of a poverty spec S3 as it doesnt have many extras, but a '99 model with only 30k on it is still very nice!

Lambo doors seem to get a very mixed welcome on here... last time I saw them in a thread some of the most hardcore OEM+ followers said they liked them.

there really are far too many idiots on porka..... there have been threads on here recent slating the members and the forum so it's not just me that feels this way. http://www.uk-polos.net is a good forum. a lot less banter. I should have really linked to it (especially as I'm a mod on there!!!) There are many many other polo owners that feel the same about clubpolo as me.

If I'm correct, mk4 polos dont run front subframes.. I think they're the same as mk3's. Golfs do. Lots of fabrication work, custom drive shafts etc etc..

End of the day anything can be done. I know that GTI 8v and 16v engines will fit into a mk3 polo with ALOT of work as the engines lean differently (polo forwards, golf rearwards). Not going to be a straight forwrd conversion. Golf engines are quite tall compared with Polos. Most mk4 boys tend to use polo engines for conversions... the later 1.6 16v's drop in easy enough. Best place to ask (even though I hate to admit) is clubpolo. If you can battle your way through all the waffle and bs on there, there are some very knowledgable peeps on there (even though they tend not to post so much as most mk4 polo owners are knobs that dont know what they're talking about)

yeah but one is shorter than the other... so if you lose the short one (like I did) the longer one has no chance of fitting under the shelf support.

yep, under the parcel shelf supports. I lost my adjuster in my rear quater yesterday trying to adjust them with the supports still in, i reckon it could be done but is fiddly

Ok, as requested, ONE side on shot and some measurements. Weitec Hicon TX coilovers. 17in rims. Front: Hub centre to arch - 290mm Ground to arch - 572mm Rear: Hub centre to arch - 280mm Ground to arch - 565mm Sump to ground clearance 75mm **this thread could do with a clean up as it would be good reference if it just had pics of drops and measurements (it aint hard to get a tape measure)**

At my old work the seaguls would fly diagonally across the car park EVERYDAY pooping on everything in sight... the amount of times I'd come out and my golf would be covered from headlight to taillight!! I never took any pics, but imagine your rado but 5x worse!! they must have flown 10 abreast cos it was just like someone had poured a can of paint out of an airoplane! Nevertheless, that is still a very impressive amount of poop. Did it stain? Damn seaguls in newquay stained my roof (my fault for leaving it there for 2 days) and my newly painted boneet is stained even though I washed it off when I found the poop.

Bloody vultures!!! Yeah the yellow lights are genuine French spec. They have clear glass with a tinted yellow reflector. Wont be at e38, as I think it's the same weekend as VWAction and I prefer air-cooled shows. Paul, you want the door trim?? heheheh silly storms with the wrong trim on!
