Thought even a none vw one was over £300 though. Hmmmm
-
Screens from VW were over £500 when available though so working into that price is about right i feel, imagine the cost of the screens on some of these modern cars that the screen forms part of the roof itself, they must be stooopid money :) ---------- Post added at 6:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:22 PM ---------- How did you get a new screen for £90 ? was that just your excess on your insurance?
-
Am guessing that's including a new one not just removal & re-fitting the current. Had to do this on my Nugget as wanted to use my own glass guys so had to pay the guys upfront and then claim it back from my insurance which they were happy to do. cost a bit more than the usual excess but only another £40 which was piece of mind to be honest. :)

Hi Jon, Well i must have binned to brackets but i actually have 2 brand new ones if you want them, £10 the pair posted. I dont have any bolts though but am sure something similar could easily be found. Let me know if you are interested or not and can fire over a pic if needed but they are of electro plate finish. Kip

I was hoping you hadn't seen this thread james :-) lol I did look at loads of breaker threads to get ideas though as never be broken one before so was clueless. Bloody hard work though and soooo time consuming lol I'm knackered.

I'd be more like 300 or 400 plus with what I've recently sold but as Andy says good to shift a big chunk all in one.
-
Let my local mechanic do it mate as he has a press :-)

Butterfly here.... search for 'pics' of A20 LEE in a search engine of your choice and you should find plenty that link you to pages here or on other forums ;)

The water is seeping under the gasket of the spoiler bracket as one of the captive nuts has broken causing it to peel upwards slightly so i need to replace the plastic bit inside the hatch that the 2 bolts screw to to sort it and screw it down tight again. fiddley little things though :/
-
Thanks James, a pleasure to deal with you too x

Thats exactly what happened to Judes, water coming in under the gasket the same as you say. :)

Got a pair chap, £45 posted. -
Hi Jim, I did and they went in fine :-)
-
Got a pair somewhere too mate, bit rusty but usable. £7 posted? Rod has first sale though ;)

Had this with Jude's daily recently, it was the metal swing hook on the lock that had seized. I unclipped the rods from the little plastic holders and actually removed the whole lock section 2 x 10mm nuts & washers and once removed gave it a good squirt of WD40 and worked it in to the pivots to get it moving again. Worth checking the lock moves before changing the rod positions etc. Took 15 mins maximum.

Hi Gus, last pair to you Sir ;) PM sent.
