  1. someone's £30 out, Oooh! Brand new rear VW Badge for the winner, there are a couple of marks on it though but still better than an old worn one.
  2. Whats happnin with the mirrors mate? they gonna have filler on the seam where the black trim normally is? When's completion date then?
  3. Apparently but only when reversing while going to see the girlfriend
  4. not that fast as the car isn't a Storm
  5. You Swine i was gonna buy them
  6. As you say Rich, sounds like the metal just failed after so many years :( a bad thing to happen to you mate but glad it's reasonably fixable and you are ok too.
  7. Tut Tut, I nearly always ask the dealers for anything i fancy that i see on ebay just in case it isn't actually obsolete as so often quoted. i think i'll add some of them onto my next list then Steve  I saw some of the triangle seat belt anchor point covers for £8 each and they were used, i bought some from VW for £1.03 each.
  8. Someone is only £50 away  will see who wins at 8pm tonight.
  9. OK mate, we'll dig out what we have and let you know costs. should have receipts for it all anyway somewhere  Right bedtime as a very long day on the C tomorrow! :)
  10. Incase you miss it in my thread mate, we have spare rear axle bushes too if you need em!
  11. OK so today my parts man phoned with a price for all the swag i've ordered. Any Guessing on cost you lot? a prize for whoever gets nearest, All bearings, front/rear pads, rear discs, all bolts nuts washers and bushes, drop links, tie rods, new driveshafts inc CV's, handbrake cables, more clips than i've ever seen,2 new door scraper seals for Nugget, all suspension parts (except dampers which already got) also ordered a new rear windscreen to replace the one that has some bad scratches on (hope that comes, ordered from Germany) and a few other bits and bobs  I'll try and find something new from my spares box for their Corrado for the winner. Nearest Tenner takes it! ;) ---------- Post added at 10:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:24 PM ---------- Chris will mention it to jude, Got some spare rear bushes too as i forgot i had some already and the bolts and nuts for them too. Interested? just want what she paid i guess mate.
  12. Tim, Na just the rear carriers to be honest, i guess if i have problems getting the hoses off them i'll have to sort something but they work spot on touch wood.
  13. Yep just confirming Joebloggs parts numbers are correct, just actually ordered 2 myself too :)
  14. Oooh nice work, do you own the cv puller? does the hub just pull off then once all bolts removed? i think i'll be asking you a lot of questions doing my refurb Tim
  15. Well got home yesterday to a pair of new rear brake caliper carriers :) they look so lovely when they are new  where's the nutter smilie
  16. Those prices are way off, they are about £50/60 a side aren't they?
  17. Does this car have the 2 hoses to the heater matrix in on piece or have they been cut to fit the safety valve? Thanks!
  18. Kev, na mate I was just feeling horny lol! To be honest though in 13 years of owning the car I've never replaced a cv joint so thinking I'd hate to do all this work and then have to scratch/damage the finish off stuff having to do it a few months down the line, and it worked out cheaper to replace the whole shafts rather than separate joints. Plus they'll look sexy ;-)
  19. Chris, I use my local TPS and they even deliver to my work address :) Had the rear bushes in the garage for the last 5 years waiting to go on  along with bolts for those too so not sure on current price. Sensors wise i'd use the ATE ones from euro car parts. Pressure regulator on ebay an ATE item which is basically exactly the same for £65 rather than £180. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GOLF-MK3-GTI-VR6-CORRADO-BRAKE-PRESSURE-REGULATOR-C72-/200704548022?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2ebaec5cb6#ht_1984wt_952 I've ordered a selection of clips and things so i'll let you know part numbers when they arrive and look correct. No i didn't ask how much i just said get on with it  needs doing so it's getting done. to be honest my total costings over many years haven't been too bad and the car has been immensely reliable only on the odd occasion has it thrown a wobbley and let me down so i think it deserves a little tlc :) I'm expecting well over 1k so i'll keep you posted and hopefully can help with any part enquiries ;) thin'k i'd better log where goes where this time as so many bits are similar so can get confusing. James, as soon as Stanford is out the way it'll start, a bit worried if i can actually manage it all though :/ the worst thing is refitting the brake lines i've ordered from Volksworld13, i've bled the system manytimes but not after fitting new hardlines. guess it'll be good practice and i hope some of you can help with any problems i have.
  20. New ones are always better really, i know they aint cheap but if an old one scratches your window you'll be pretty ****ed off.
  21. Have to say am getting quite excited about new drive shafts and CV joints
  22. Well the bits ( Lorry Load ) for the underneath refurb have been ordered today, a total of over 215 different items from all the bits to replace the suspension and various bushes and bolts to disc pads bearings and even splashed out on some new drive shafts including CV joints KerChing! Not sure i'll wanna tell you how much it'll be when i get told how much it is. :)
