Nice to see a TT rollin properly, those Brabus rimz are mustard Darren.

I would get the arches trimmed off and resealed by a body shop. I got mine done last week for £100, trouble with rolling is it might crack your paint and then you have to get your 1/4 painted, plus the Rado rear arch is double skinned which is problematic also.

I have had a nail in both cars this year, the smart cost me a matching pair of 205*40*17's and one in the rado that didnt pierce, so that was OK.

I've had this same problem too - it totally does your head in!!!! Mine seems to be sorted now but I (or rather The Phirm did) changed the battery and ignition switch, and it wasn't until I changed both the Fuel pump relay and the main control unit relay that the problem seems to have now gone. Although saying that the solinoid on my starter seems a little iffy so I'm not totally certain that its sorted - I'll give it another month or two to see if the problem rears its ugly head again, but for the past month or so now, it seems all good. Cost about £10 a relay - I can tell you the numbers if you need to purchase them. Other than that it could be a faulty immobiliser? I know its a right head f--k, I am going to change the fuel pump relay which I think is in position 12 and numbered 191906383C Which one is the main control unit one ? Cheers Matt

My mates have a had a few and I have considered it on many occassions. They are a great car, but suffer with their issues. They suffer from rust (scuttle panel etc) and generally have a hard life. They are also expensive to repair and scope for performance upgrades are expensive and minimal. Plus they are expensive to buy, a good late one will be £7k and a really good one or a special one like a Europemeister or a Cecotto much more If you find a good one you consider, get it checked out by an E30 M3 specialist first before buying. I would stear clear of engine conversions too, the 16v race developed engine is the point of the car. They are the nuts though and i would buy one if one came up at the right time.

My car does this, basically you hold the key right the way round until the iginition lights go out and it should start but all you can here is clicking from the back of the car. Eventually if you keep turning right on the pint of the last turn it will fire up eventually and work all day. It will normally be the same process the next day though. I have changed the iginition switch, it has a new battery and a new starter motor. Its a mystery. Any input on my problem would be appreciated.

You can buy those wheels new so I would have though a Borbet dealer would be able to get them. Failing that German ebay, save the nearest search you can and it will e mail each day something comes in.

Suggestions for a new car please - decision made see pg3
pkripper replied to Phil K's topic in General Car Chat
Those prices seem high, is that because of the mileage of 30k a year? IF you were doing 10K a year you could get a Mercedes CLK 220 CDi Coupe Avantgarde 2Dr Auto Based On 3 year contract, covering 10,000 miles per annum (business) Monthly Cost : £354.99 + vat -
Get them and get some pics up 8)
-
Still a 15 year old car regardless of mileage though.

Thats my car, they are 7.5 on the front and 9 out back, I got them from German Ebay and refurbed in the UK with a polished lip, the actual wheels were only £100. more pics http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... light=toro If you want a used set try the E30 BMW forum, they often run them on their cars although you can get them new from UK suppliers. Regards Matt

Will let you know, cheers ben.

One of my mates is a Merc sales manager and I am going soon for the day as a big spender. Apparantly he gets a budget for customers. Hope to see you there.

This is the one that caught my eye, looks well looked after and its a 2.3. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/86384.htm

Seen a few about for not much money, less than £2k. Seems like a good buy for a track car. 2.5 16v with nearly 200 bhp, are they any good? Was wondering how they faired in comparison say to a 325i sport?

Im gonna buy a new car in the spring, one of 3 cars: Toying with an evo1 intergrale like this: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/106974.htm If I cant drag myself away from German engineering than it will be either an E30 M3 or a UR Quat. Difficult to find good ones for sensible money though. If things go well in the wallet dept it would be a 993 carrera with the glass roof.

I would get a newer car if you are going to be doing 15k a year, thats a lot for a senior car such as a corrado.
