Is your Corrado your "best" car, or your runabout?
pkripper replied to PhatVR6's topic in General Car Chat
Corrado for weekends, Smart car for everyday use. -
Paint the bulbs green inside with craft paint, it will help. Mine flash nearly red and it passed an MOT so you should be OK. Some old US cars dont have indicators, the big back light just flashes.

Early ones are LHD, later ones are RHD. The one you want is a "for 2" Passion as this is the higher spec model. You can get a really good high spec one with leather, aircon etc etc for £4k on around 54 plate. They are a really safe car as well, ABS, ESP, traction control. If you get one with a Brabus kit, you can get 101 BHP out of the little beast and they fly, I had one as loaner and it was like a mini 911, had paddel shift and that, it has got to be the fastest way round town on 4 wheels. -
Yep, standard alarm Greeny.

Got my g60 one at inters a few years ago and got it cut for £1 while I was there. Happy days.
-
I will try that.

Yes, cat 1.

Got it going and have changed the battery terminal again. When you turn the key the dash lights still come on and nothing happens, but there is a knack where if you hold the key on full turn and turn it, it will then fire up. I have replaced the ignition switch and there is power to the starter motor. Also, it will sometimes just start with no problem. Anyone got any further ideas?
-
Thanks Steve. Maybe i should change those leads on the alternator as well we talked about at Bluewater?
-
Not sure if it is the starter clicking, its got a brand new on one though.
-
I will try that, I just get the clicking when I turn it over though. What is the next point of call if there is no voltage getting to the starter?
-
Greetings everyone, My G60 has a fault in that the lights on the dash come on when you try to start it but it doesnt turn over, a bit like when the iginition switch has gone. I am going to check the earths tomorrow, is there anything else off hand that I should check as well? All help much appreciated. Thanks Matt

Bankers draught is the best for anything in £000's, they have a number on the back to call to prevent fraud. Cash is a liability.

Someone reliable to fit a new starter motor - Thanks Peanut
pkripper replied to pkripper's topic in Suppliers Forum
I have to say thanks to Gavin and Nicky (Peanut and MisVW) for taking the time last Sunday to fit my starter motor in the rain for absolutely nothing. I was talking about it tonight and I still cannot believe that there are genuine kind people out there who willing to offer their time for no financial reward. I guess that is what makes the dub scene special. I will have to pass the favour on to someone else when I get the opportunity. Thanks again Gavin and Nicky Matt -
May be coming back to the fold already......
