i took my c on a road trip to dundee the other day and the trip there was brill 200+ miles on b and dual :) but on the trip back half way down the road the brake pedal seemed to lose its pressure......i had to put the pedal almost to the floor to find any resistance however if i pumped the brakes a few times the resistance was there........is this a classic case of air in the system or something worse :cry: ....oh and i can hear a little whining coming from the back of the car when i'm going fairly slowly that you can here pretty load and is very :oops: any ideas what this could be? Its a 94 vr6

Just asking this for a friend who just bought a golf 3 vr6. It is mint with leather interior heated seats and only 55k on the clock OBD1 or 2 i think anyway went in it a run today not for long maybe half an hour in town traffic and we popped the bonnet when we stopper and fair enough the engine felt roasting ( so does the C vr6) but there was a funny gurgling noide going through the coolant system although something was boiling or a gremlin was inside drinking oil/water/fuel beer? it was pretty loud....i have no experience with this kind of engine just wondering if anyone had or knew anything this may be?

does anyone know the part number for the adjusters? been on the blower to the brain and he thinks he's got the part for £10 :) but not sure says its hard to see on the diagram wont get to me though until friday which means another £44.50 for a test :mad2:

yeah just read my sheet though you are now only allowed fee exemption if you retest the next working day otherwise full fee

so can you buy the adjusters ? or is it a whole headlight jobby? :bad-words:

mucho appreciated andy the garage saying its something to do with the fact they will need to put the car back on the machine to test the headlight angle so therefore the charge....Still doesnt answer my question though? Can i get the adjuster or is it a whole light jobby?

can i get just the adjusters or do i need to buy a new headlamp from say GSF and does this come with the adjuster or can i get the adjuster from VW i would appreciate an answer on this tonight as i have to get it fixed tomorrow or pay for a retest?????? Would the adjuster from a mark three golf fit????

Yeah i know its not that bad but i still need to get it working! i am actually quite happy that it didnt need more work but still got niggly probs anyway like the bloody bonnet thingy and the scratchy window

:( My C had a sad day today down the local mot place failed on the offside front headlight aim being too low when in the centre of the headlamp is below 850mm from the ground....... the problem being the offside adjuster on the headlamp is insecure its basically buggered does anyone know if you can get the part or maybe someone has one kickin aboot in their garage i could buy or is it a brand new or second hand headlight jobby??? also failed cause the horn doesnt work but that shouldnt be too hard to locate the problem. your help appreciated!

so after reading this i'm now really pissed off....if my inner seal is not sitting pretty and my outer is making my window rattle it means i'm fooked!!

The contacts on the back of the steering wheel seem fine i can just pull out the section for the horn from the steering wheel and everything there seems fineas i said it was working not that long ago but sometimes you had to press it a few times for it to work!

Cant hear anything is it maybe just the relay is buggered??? Expensive to fix????

My horn has stopped working and i dont know why.....I dont us it much but went to use it the other day and nothing happened got to go in for an mot soon. worked before cant remember last time i used it. checked fuses but they all seem fine. any help much appreciated. by the way its a vr6 94 plate

No if someone tries to open the pass door before the central locking opens it it sticks closed...if i lock the doors and then open them it remains locked but all the others open. The pin tries to raise up and open but just locks again. The key just makes the lock do the same

Yes but when i lock it again and try to open it still won't open it tries to open then closes again but drivers dor and boot open????

Soz if this has been mentioned before but i'm a reletive newcomer to the site, I have a C VR6 just over 1ook love it to bits....I have a full scorpion enclosure but when i turn off the immob in order to open the doors if someone tries to open the pass door before the central locking opens the door it stick closed...it doesn't happen unless you open the door before it's ready. when i open and close the doors it just remains closed.. the c is a cool car but no-one wants your good lady to be climbing in and out through the drivers side.........any help gladly received.

I just got done for speeding the other week. I was doing 40 in a thirty which again i could say was my own fault it was just a quick burst to hear that oh so wonderful VR6 sound not a soul in sight at 11.30pm on a fairly wide road........the bastards were sitting in a bus turning point inside the car with no lights at all....stopped me and not only warned me for the speed but also for the noise as i may of woken people who were sleeping..( not that the wankers sirens would have as the pulled me?????) Any way i got on to pepipoo online and they said that it unambiguosly states that their speed camera's should only be used to analyse speed from outwith the car in clear view of motorists although i accepted the 3 points and fine i should write to their superior officer stating that the were in effect hiding from motorists in order to get convictions....

I also have a scratch on both windows although the one on my passenger side is alot worse than the drivers but i've noticed the scratch appear on the drivers side since i bought the car.......is there any cheap fix?

I've been told that i will probably need a front engine mount for my next MOT which is looming on the 10th of Feb, there is also grease leaking from N/S/R mount. Does anyone know how much these things cost? i read that the engine has three mounts if i am getting one done is it worth doing all three and if it is how much of my birthday money will i be using? :?:

Does any one know the special tools you need to work on the various parts of a VR6? I can't even get the rocker cover off as it seems to need a special hex key....... doesnt give me much hope for trying anything else!

What engine is this the throttle body on?

Just wanted to know where the damn thing was sorry to offend!
