yeah the front spoiler is currently residing in the garage! its always scrapin the floor on the rut ridden blackpool roads! gonna get a 50 mil one to try to avoid it! would like to update the grille too,perhaps a reiger item?? savin hard for an engine upgrade at the mo! cant have these rs,s whippin me every five minutes! want a 20v tt lump but also lookin into the possibility of turboin the current donkey! any advice on that matter gladly accepted! got loads of ideas but as most know, its restricted by the thickness of the old wallet!!

well here it is! very very nearly finished after quite an extensive refit! got it for a steal but boy had the previous owner abused it! but its very nearly back to a satisfactory standard! ran it for a while in its previous state, but after smashin a headlight :oops: (those stones certainly do bounce on the m55!)decided it was about time i sorted it! once the leathers been treated should be good! what d,ya think??

hello folks! just been having a nosey at my doorshuts and cant seem to find any room for adjustment. they look a little proud to me! or is it just common on early ones?

help i do beleive somethings amiss in my power steering setup! sometimes when i turn the wheel (mostly right!) the steering bumps repeatedly right up through the steering wheel! it is also acompaned by a chirping slip on the pump belt,i changed the belt and it stopped it for a round a week, then the juddering came back along with the embarrasing chirp! :oops: the wheel is also hard to turn in the morning. only with right hand turn! it feels as if it comes against resistance then releases for the day!! very wierd!! any ideas boys n girls?!

yes goes straight in! with and without the engine running! it tends to first and second. but doesnt seem like sycromesh! i,l be getting that oil at weekend so with any luck!!!....

hello mate, i had a similar problem on my mk1 gti years ago after a new clutch and turned out to be that the fishplate sandwiched between the block and box was bent causing the flywheel to rub against it,i just removed it at the time! its just you say its when the clutch is depressed. could be the thrust bearing?

my gearbox has been awful since the day i got it! any advice on adjusting these cables would be great for me too! although i did find bleeding the clutch aleviated the problem slightly! gonna give the oil change a go weekend, i will report!! anyone got one of these tools we can copy? i assume it resebles a jig of sorts??

hello chaps and chappettes! would anybody know if im right in thinking that the late chin spoiler is shallower than the earlier type? ive got a 1990 16v and its pretty low and could do with some clearance at the front! are they interchangable and would anyone have one at all? it looks plain daft without it on, but its a pain in the harris when it is!

thankyou fellas! had the blighter off today, theres a bit of adjustment when you loosen the brackets from the bumper itself. turned out not to be enough to satisfy me, so i made up some shims to raise the brackets slightly and hey presto! fits nice now! thanks again lads!! :D
