yep paid 200 for mine from a pair of local lads! did an ok job afterall my seals are tired! but fits ok after some fettlin myself to satisfy perfectoinism.

if in the lancs area tower windscreens are a good pair of lads! thought mine was a little dodgy cos the rubbers dont quite fit right round the top of the pillars but they are old seals,and after hearin the nightmares youve all been through, and considering its a piggy of a job, sounds like they did well! not at all expensive either! first quote i got was 500 nicker! they sorted it for 200, its proper glass too!

not a big fan of the totally smooth look myself. looks a little jimmy hill to me however have you considered using bike indicators behind the grille so they shine through when operating? yamaha r1 examples for instance? seen it done on mk1 golfs,can be quite effective. just an idea?

well me and my c are this close to fallin out! fitted the coilovers, big improvement on ride quality but the o/s front wheels still catchin the s**tguard, why? i dont know? opinions on the resetting wings thread! power steerin still like a gremlin barbershop quartet! changed the fluid the lot apart from the pump and rack. ever get the feelin its happier on the drive than on the road???

ok done it and its made no difference whatsoever! seems to have trouble bleeding, unless that whooshin noise is just fluid! pas pumps goin isnt it! more money! just hope its not rack related! could pricey chasin this fault! oh and belts tight as a drum! need to sort it or me and the c could fall out!! :mad:

right! got the proper mounts,all fitted. but as ive said in another thread(resetting wings)my n/s front wheel is still rubbing the s**tguard, yet the o/s is well clear and not due to height! i,l get some pics when its light, just cant figure it! thinkin the wings maybe mismatched as i know its had a tap on the front o/s (chassis legs untouched) and has had a wing,are late ones wider or somethin? i know the vr ones are but surley id notice that sooner!! only when i changed a rear wheel to the front i noticed,as far as i can tell the offsets are identical. stumped!

such a shame! cant abide vandals!jealous cos they cant have it so think you shouldnt either!!! know how you feel about the space and money thing! mines not moved in weeks but my bank balance has!!! by the way the mk1 looked wicked in its final stage! looked awsome from the back!!!

always fancied the 18t conversion myself. +points=easily tuned,very strong internals, all steel bottom end as im led to beleive?and rung block! safe 300 bhp on standard internals etc etc - points= still a pricy conversion! not easy for diy,ers lots of extra components eg managment! thinking about the 24v vr myself! somethin another forum member suggested?

its certainly a buzz when you keep spending a fortune!!! by the way what the little electrical connector under the gaitor surround for?? looks kike its never been connected to anythin!just sits on a neat little rack.

its hard to look cool when every time you turn the wheel the powered steering makes a sound not disimilar to a gremlin chorus!! usually in the middle of town. when you wanna impress!!

tried my best with these but its picking up the inner edge of the lamp surround, just imagine it from a little distance. my camera doesnt show it too well from further out, as you can see the o/s a little bigger and seems to flare at the bottom? any ideas or am i being picky?

just got the fluid at the same time as being sent two different top mounts! so just checking this is right its febi bilstein m 6162, please be right pleeeease! :brickwall: oh and heres a daft question!! engine runnin or not for drainin??,,, yeah i know! :oops:

my word what a nightmare! ordered top mounts from vw yesterday they sent the wrong parts which they discovered for themselves. today i get home to find they,ve sent two different ones!! does anyone happen to know the part number for the 90 16v top mounts? got two sittin infront of me one of which is: 357 412 331 the other 357 412 329 the former is the part number on the old one, but, the rubber has different mouldings? confused is not the word!!

ive wanted one since my dad received promotional material when it was first released! i can still see the nugget yellow c on the front cover with an insert for the futura concept car! (remember that?parked itself!!) swore then i,d have one someday!! had a mk1 golf gti then a mk2 then this fella came up and thats about it! never once regretted the buy! everything i expected! gets attention wherever it goes! funnyiest thing is,we chased to get the car in a friends old cavalier aptly name rusty,it made it there and back,just! then subsiquently died a major death the day after! rustys last stand goes down in history! :lol:
