Another praise for Peeter Cooper in Portsmouth, have ordered several parts over the phone and paid on collection. Seems to be all down to individual branches to set their own policies when it comes to parts.

But Goldies Storm has only relatively been lowered. Not sure where Goldie bought his, as its Portsmouth then it might be a pic from before he got it?

Im going to change the switches first of all, but have been onto VW and they have said they have 4 different switches Blue - 0.25 Bar Grey - 0.9 Bar Back - 1.4 Bar White - 1.8 Bar Now one of the switches has a black cap on it so ill be needing a black one obviously! but the other has no coloured cap on it at all, does anyone know which one will be needed for a 1992, J plate G60? -
Ive previously had this hose leak and on a seperate occasion come off (luckily engine was cold) It seems like a very silly place to put a fuel hose - somewhere that if it leaks it drips onto the exhaust manifold! Mine was a problem with the jubilee clips, looked like they had kept being tightened and in the end they went out of shape, well worth replacing them with new.

No, obviously you have takne it the wrong way! I was never expecting anyone to say exactly what the problem is. What i would of liked was for someone to say either 'No dont drive it until you have the pressure checked (which is what i expect) Or - it does sound like a dead sensor so dont worry too much. -

Hi guys My oil pressure light and buzzer came on the other night while driving down the motorway with no warning, in a panic i knocked it out of gear and it stopped going off, found it it only comes on between 2,500 and 3,500 RPM. I have just investigated a little, no buzzer when cold, or when driving, but it started to go off as soon as oil temp was over 88 degrees. I havent been able to get the prssure tested yet, but does this point to a knackered switch? or could it be more serious? I assume i reall y shouldnt drive it all the time the buzzer could be going off! Thanks in advance Andy

Very true! my G60 has a late spec body and you would not beleive how many people try to tell me my car must of been in a major front end accident as it doesnt have an early bonnet & wings!

theres a time and a place for driving like a loon, but on the public roads with other people around isnt it! Jim - that is a brilliant idea!

lol, thanks for that John! Normally i wouldnt care less, but it was his apparant complete disregard for speed limits, road signs and safety of other road users that annoyed me!
-
i quite often have people tailgating me, quick blast on the throttle soon gets rid of them though, Its not a case of i dont like it, its when guys get dangerous and do stupid things to make them feel big it worries me! I mean if im in the mood to blow them away i will do, but usually ill accelerate to the speed limit quick and not any (or much) further, whichis normally enough to make a point! but it does get annoying when on the commute to/from work having someone glued to your bumper for several miles when you cant move over coz your over taking and cant speed up coz you have someone in front!

What is it with kids in little Corsas or similar? Last night about 10:00 i was driving home from work, pulled up at a set of traffic lights, Mr Corsa pulls up next to me. I just pulled away normally and out accelerated him without even bothering with a proper launch, now the road goes down to 1 lane in about 1/4 mile (outside Port Solent for those interested) Bearing in mind this is a 40 zone with islands in the middle with 'Keep Left' signs everywhere and my spolier was just on its way up (I then backed off), the idiot then overtakes me after it goes down to 1 lane on the OTHER SIDE of a traffic island with traffic coming the other way, he must of been doing about 80 -90mph the way he flew off down the road! The limit drops to 30mph in another mile and he just kept on flying down the road. No wonder insurance premiums are so high with muppetts driving around like that! the worst thing is now he will be telling all his other mates that he beat a C. I'll admit im not the worlds best driver but i know when its time to be sensible, Is it just me or is doing double the speed limit on the wrong side of the road a VERY irresponsibe thing to do?

i have the weitec coilovers on my C and they are superb IMO. I have heard that the 'shocks and spings' are also very good when compared to similar items. They may appear to be 'budget suspension' but when you consider they are made by KW (thhe shock bodies on the coilovers actually have KW printed on them!) and are effectively just their non stainless line they are fantastic value for money.

Wire for battery light on dash, if this wire is not connecte
Dub_nut_g60 replied to pkripper's topic in Engine Bay
I dont know about on the C, but; My dads old Sierra died in france and it was originally diagnosed with a knacered altenator, but upon the cars return to the UK it was discovered the battery had died due to the bulb for the battery waning light blowing. Possibly a similar situation? -
Good Thinking Michael! Tom - if i dont get an answer i may well pester you! but would be easist to see if anyone pops up with the answer, im suprised Darren doesnt know them off the top of his head!! Its not anything important or urgent just something i would like to know so i know what sort of drop im running at different times!

Can anyone tell me what the measurement is from ground to top of arch (front and rear) on a standard G60? At recent South Coast meets people have said my car is very low (and loud but thats a different matter) I want to find out what my drop is at the moment but i have no reference point! Thanks in advance Andy

Easy one for you.. is this a seized / seizing caliper?
Dub_nut_g60 replied to Jim's topic in Drivetrain
As Toad will agree this is exactly what happened to one of my front brakes it seized and failed the MOT, the slider pin boot thingy was split so i guess a small amount of water had got in and rusted the pin so it wouldnt slide freely. Took the caliper off, cleaned up the pin and re greased and its all fine now. I've noticed quite an improvement in the performance and fuel economy since then! -
Nice one mate! Might have to pop us sometime to have a look!

lol, mine wasnt because it was broken as such! it was because there was gaffa tape that was used to hold the 2 bits together and the top bit wasnt there so it wiped the dipstick off before it came out the tube! i didnt do the 'fix' to the tube i might add!!!!
