Gave this a go today: before: During: and after: Was a right PITA getting the dials working again! after putting the clocks back in the speedo was spot on straight away, but rev counter was reading 1k low (according to MFA) and had to make the holes the temp gauge and fuel gauge spindles went through bigger. will teach me to test it before putting it back together!! Not sure about white needles on white background though, might crack out the humbrol at some point.

Chevrolet Matiz. Understeer wasnt the word!! almost full lock and straight forwards at low speed was not fun!! and braking was terrorfying, came off a slip road started to brake and nothing at all even standing on the pedal, a quick lane change followed to avoid running striaght into another car!

cant see it as work filter stopped it due to pornography/vehicles!

Bear in mind that it is illegal to drive the car unless it is being taken to an MOT appointment, so it has to be booked in for the MOT not just going to a 'while you wait' place.

:? maybe its just me, but my G seems quite happy sitting at 30 in 5th! plant the throttle and she will pull all the way to silly numbers. Shes much happier doing low speeds in 5th than my old MK2 CL. -
exactly the reason im going to be helping a mate get his kit car finished!

I was the same with being fed up with silly garage bills so have started to try and do some stuff myself. Ive found that if you want to learn and dont know what your doing just ask for help from someone who knows. That way you know what your doing next time and all it costs is a couple of beer tokens!

Just be re reading this thread as i was looking at my fuel level and miles travelled etc... On the way to work this morning i noticed that i have used 3/4 of a tank and have done just under 350 miles, and thats with spending saturday driving in and out of Pompey in football traffic!! Probabaly helps that my commute is 45 miles each way with very few hold ups! Think ive got a decent combination at the moment, decent power and nice fuel economy! -

Driving her back from Bournemouth, having everyone get out of my way on the M27 while i thought i was doing about 75mph only to look at speedo at see 115mph oops!! Then just as i went throught the village centre i got a couple of looks and a guy turned to his young lad and said 'now thats a nice car'

If i need owner details of vehicles at work to confirm owner etc.. i just write to the DVLA. Although as i contact them on behalf of a Trustee in Bankruptcy they have a duty to provide the information, so i dont know if the info is disclosed to general public, worth a punt though, worst they can do is say no!

Blimey, was it really that long ago my car was down at G-Werks, another visit may be on the cards! Had almost forgetten about these!! makes me queazy and scared even thinking about what the car used to be like!! Whether its a rarity or not, it has put me off putting KWs on if/when i ever need to get the weitecs replaced!

When my old coilies were dying/dead it didnt handle too well, not very positive and a fair bit of body roll. Once they were changed it felt like a different car. Had the same thing on my old mk2 and even new standard shocks sharpened up the handling on that. so can deffinatelty recommend getting the suspension changed! Havent got them myself but maybe strut braces and ARB would also help

Thats the 'registered office' address IIRC. If its any they are in the inductrial park just before the 90 degree bend in Mill Lane here
-
nope would appear to be down! I accidently left their card in my old wallet when it got thrown out so dont have the address to hand, but am sure someone will!

Its something to do with the ABS.

Well done for taking this on Andy! Think you will be onto a winner if you can make something that is very OE and uses plugs to connect into loom. I know from experience that upgraded looms tend to die die to water getting into the relays, so you might want to think about a waterproof housing for the relays and probably fuses - just a thought. might cost more to make/buy but im sure people will be willing to pay the extra for something of a very high standard. Ill be more than happy to trial the loom for you if needed.
-
This will mean leaving the back off the headlight unit surely? I just dont that would be a good idea! IMO you would be better off coming up with something which uses the OE head light plug with 4 connectors if possible

Looks like an awesome peice of kit! Shame it wouldnt be too good for a RR day though.

They are quite firm but dont feel crashy and ride is still good, they are the adjustables though so that cn be changed quickly!! We can have a bit of play with it soft and hard if you want, afterall suspension settings are a personnal choice!
