best source for lambda probe - mine seems to be giving only

http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/zt2/zt2.htm That`s what I use, can`t fault it at all, very good display and the control box is tiny! -
It has got a soft cut limiter, does either or both ignition and fuel cut, haven`t had a good look into it to be honest. I`ve read fuel cut could be dangerous but I don`t know how the MS applies it, maybe shut down 2 cylinders completely as if you lean it off on boost BOOM!.

I can rev limit through Megasquirt although I`ve heard the G60`s don`t take kindly to rev limiters?
-
You need suitable blank eeproms, a chip burner and a method of editing the software on the chip to your own spec, it`s not easy. There are emulators out the but I don`t know how they work exactly and they aren`t cheap.. That`s why I went over to MegaSquirt, map it myself in my own time and get it absolutely spot on.

I gained 10bhp and 10lbft from a pair of kent 1602r`s on my 1.8, took it up to 165bhp at Stealth, also the torque came in 1k rpm earlier. Good results!
-
Put my 65 back on it yesterday for normal driving (bloody hell!), not too much hastle to change the pulley so I`ll look into a 70 for the track just to give it half a chance.. Can put up with earlier servicing on the 65, I normally do less than 4k miles a year and if it goes bang it`s all my own fault. Having a lot of trouble with traction in second gear though :D
-
Dunno, depends how well the G60`s seals withstand the pressure I suppose?
-
I`ve got a Helix paddle in the mk2, not that bad in traffic when you get used to them, I was expecting far worse, also using the sporting pressure plate and the pedal is noticably heavier.
-
It`ll earth through the hinges and the bonnet catch, mine hasn`t had one on for as long as I`ve owned the car and I haven`t had any issuse.
-
I go by oil temp, nice and easy up to 76 or so, when it`s in the 90`s it normally sees 7k rpm quite frequently!
-
Yep, but it also managed to pull it back to 14.7 while cruising as well. I think when the oil temp hit 60c closed loop kicked in, you can here the idle change.
-
When i was on Digi1 with lumpy cams the afr was in the 10:1`s until closed loop kicked in and brought it back down to 14.7:1.
-
If the car doesn`t go into closed loop you`ll have problems. I got mine though with lumpy cams, just by using closed loop control, think the co was 1%?

I run 6mm line with the Aquamist quickfit connectors and it`s never sucked air in, the connectors are only a £5er and excellent quality. I gave my car it`s real first beating yesterday, a good couple of hours worth of fast driving and I ran faultlessly, no knock at full chat, no i/c just w/i. Very happy!
-
Maybe the idle screw`s loose or the seals gone? Mine doesn`t whistle?
-
It`s the vacuum switch to trigger overrun fuel cut isn`t it?
-
I bought a 2nd hand Aqamist pump (ERL-Race) as a none-runner. Stripped it and it was perfect inside, re-built the pump and it`s been fine for the last 6months or so. I`ve got mine boot mounted, the long 6mm feed line acts as an accumulator to dampen out the pump strokes, works very well indeed. Seeing no more than 45c using just the WI setup with no IC on a 0.8mm jet.

I get 25l tubs of De-min water from Farnells for £8 delivered (actually free delivery and they`re fooking heavy!). I don`t have the boost return, it shouldn`t carry any water back to the charger as you should only be injecting on boost, but it`s better to be safe than sorry.
-
Sounds about right, at least you can sleep easier now you know they`ve been done properly 8).
-
So there`s no drivability improvements then? What about the boost butterfly leaking, is this not normally an issue?
-
I seem to remember reading they went chasing the monet on the 1.8t`s and let the older car servicing slip a little, could be wrong. Maybe me, stevo and reily are just very unlucky.. an mine was done when they couldn`t soaure the correct quaility bits.
-
Yeh best thing about the G is you can nail it from 2k or lower, rather than in the 3.5 k rpm range after the kents went in (or 4.5k when it was stock), I`ve finally got some torque!. It made the car so much more drivable and normally I don`t event hit 4k or higher, I was looking to use the car to the limiter but thinking about it I probably will never need to anyway, 68mm it is. Just need my bigger injectors as 350`s are maxxed out at 6500rpm, 100% DC which isn`t the best.. Serp belts are a bit of an issue, bought 4 and none of them fitted properly, using a cam belt tensioner at the moment to pre-load/ take up the slack before fitting the spring tensioner, maybe lucky with the 68mm will have to measure the run with a piece of string. Bought some slicks as well but I haven`t had the chance to try them out, won`t be `till spring before I`m ready for any track action I would have tought? How do the G60`s hold up on track? can`t wait to have a go..
-
Yeh, been to Donnington a few time last year, never with the charger on it though.. Car used to have peak torque at 6200rpm so I`d expect it to be around that, car sits at around 10 psi from 2.5k to redline with 78mm on it. Suppose you`re righ, I wouldn`t want to blow it up after spend a year building, tuning it. Only as fast as your right foot..
-
People would be right in worrying if they`ve had the wrong spec timing shaft bearings fitted, they`re normally the first ting to fail anyway and it will destroy the chager no problems if they go.. Mine did sound noticable bad, I could have had a fooked charger if it had been left to the next service interval.. Plus Jabba rebuilds aren`t cheap and you don`t really get any value for money do you...
-
Good luck mate, you`ll have a big grin on your face when it starts and runs! Halfords do a valve spring compressor which is what you need really to rebuild the head, probably around the £20 mark? If you can get either a Victor Reinz or Elring head gasket you`ll be fine, don`t get palmed off with anything else or you`ll be doing the job twice.. I normally change cambelt at the most 30k miles just for peace of mind, not a bad job once you`ve done it a couple of times. Could also fit a camchain at the same time while the cams are out, whay condition is the rocker cover gasket?
