Here is the ones on my car : http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/download.php?id=38593
-
Have ones that are similar to the first ones, not sure if identical bit they have 205/40 tyres on them
-
how do you rate the caps, they arrived yet?
-
So the Corrado VR6 solitude and the Golf ones are different but interchangeable?
-
I can imagine it took you a while as it was pretty far gone to say the least. Just used the machine I have, to see if it would bring it up better than just with hand, but done by hand first to see results. I dont have the kit for paint depths, pity I hadn't noticed your section prior to buying my Corrado as I was near Cambrige before heading way north...would have saved me a lot of time

Nath, the bonnet on my Corrado seems to have marks on it still evident after a polish there, had the machine on it too. It's like something has been splashed on it, and left circular marks. What do you reccomend here, with my own cars I have always been wary of rubbing to deep as such. Do AG still do Ultra Fine Renovater and would you recommend it, I have some but never used it on any of my cars, I did try it on my father faded red wing, it helped a bit but nothing like the results that you seem to achieve on the likes of that Porshe pics I saw

Now that's a Ford I wouldn't mind owning! I know what you mean, never been a ford fan at all, but that one certinally looks fun
-
Didnt think much to this one  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLTsmf2N ... ed&search=

Yes I agree with that, a lot of the valeting I used to do was new cars for the showroom and I always used the blade ever since AG provided me with one and I never used to see swirling afterwards. Can relate to the farmer thing, one came in to this dealers and he put it over to us, tell you scrubbing brush for the seats.....no try a wire brush maybe, its was shocking.
-
I just done a CRX, other halfs Golf and my Corrado, dried off with the AG blade that I have had for years and a chamois.....no issues as such. Why do you say no no, as opposed to just need to be careful?
-
Resin stuff offers some form as after use, the dirt you pick up is a lot easier to remove than if you hadn't used it and it still retains a shine. I remember when AG first brought out there Flexiblade, I used it a fair bit, carefully of course, car thoroghly hosed so no grit to be had as such, never managed one mutha of a scratch anyway

Thanks for the reply, they had that Extra Gloss years ago, do you not recommend it nowadays. It was years ago I was in the valeting game but now I just want to get my Corrado looking as best as I can and offer decent protection. It has serious tar spots on it, just used the AG stuff there, was pretty tedious and not very effective. I found that with several of their products way back, I remember some company came out with a dry fly remover in spray format and it was brilliant and cost nothing. So then went and used the AG Super Resin, just the retail bottle...now dont know if this was actually true or is still the case but the AG salesmen used to say that the big trade containers of the polish had more cutting agent in it. I am finding the AG polish is not offering very long protection to be honest thats why was curious about the Comma stuff with it winning awards. You've lost me with the natural wax and clay bar thing, never heard of the latter. What have they come out with nowadays for polishing cloths, I just use mutton cloth mostly, is that a bad idea what with many products on the market. Are the flexi blades ok for drying or not recommended
-
So has anyone gave the Comma polish a go? Reason I ask is I am just about out of AG Polish and if there is something out there that is cheaper and more importantly give a better shine and level of protection then I would go for it
-
Which Richbrook ones though as they do a coupe of different kinds, you mean the spinning ones?
-
Nath, I used to be in the valeting game years ago, and we always used to buy AG stuff in bulk like you probably do. However reading some reviews, other companies seem to be offering better stuff. Would you agree with this or is it used for hard sell purposes? I notice Auto Express recommend the Comma polish over the AG gear. Whats your views on that and anyone else tried this Comma stuff
-
Can anyone recommend the best type to get and where to get them. Seen several ones but not sure which ones to go with. Seen these on ebay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0071944532 They reckon the screw/grub ones can cause damage if someone tried to rob them. Also seen several here - http://www.speeding.co.uk/acatalog/Anti ... _Caps.html The spinning ones seem to be a new design.
-
Do you only get these in one size? The ones I have seen are 5 stud, would they only be suitable for a COrrado VR6 or could they also go onto a MK3 95, Golf GTI? If so, anyone seen them on before, do they look good or more out of place. How much would a second hand set be worth in fairly good condition
-
Thanks for the reply, would you recommend replacing the pair, the other side tyre is pretty new as are the rears, the previous owner put on NANKANG NS1's all round, I have went with Toyo mainly in previous cars.
-
I hit a bad pothole and when went out to the car the next day, front OS tyre was flat, took it off and pumped it up and it has a huge egg on the inside! Would this have been cause by said hole or just a coincidence? Going to have to get a new tyre, is it ok to replace one or best to get a pair, and would the council or roads depo fork out for this. I split a tyre previously on a hole and it damaged the rim, had it repaired and it still loses air, never claimed for any of that
-
How about one name related to yourself, rather than the car? If so I have L30 AND, which was bought off....you guess it, an Andy ;)
-
Is this ok on a VR6 that has 205/40/17's all round or do most who have 17s get a proper spare?
-
Thats how this one operates, its not exactly obvious until you know how ;) How the button for around 2-3 secs and out its comes and just slide it up... Manual helped a great deal since I never got one

I was thinking that regarding water from up north. I topped it up with some G12+ and water mix, it was blue coolant that was in it. Topped it up to between the two marks and took it for a run, seemed to sit quite low, lower than had been previously, down at 75-80, eventually went upto 90 and when got back lft if sitting and it went upto 100 and fan came on. Checked the level when came back when hot and seemed to be below the min, should it not be higher if anything. No sign of any leaks that can see, all hoses and clips seem to be in very good order
-
And a frosty night we have here in Aberdeen tonight. I have one of those tester things where it gives a reading of the temperature you should be protected to, mind you not sure how good or accurate they are. Is using still water essential in your opinon with the G12+ mix.
-
Is it not ok to use just water to see if there is a leak or is that a no no, seems a waste to fill up with fresh if its going to drop it all. Is it not part of the VW service schedule, as for me draining it all, I'd make an arse of it, can change a light bulb thats about my limit when it comes to engines and the like.
