  1. Following the write-up on Gruvenparts the requirement to "Get the lock carrier assembly to the service position using this DIY". This write up is for the mark iv golf. Does the corrado have the same facility to gain access or will I have to remove the front end of the car????
  2. toonvw Don't change the suspension....stick the speedlines back on and leave it totally OEM........that car looks brand new :D Lovely colour Stevie_F
  3. Just ordered new heater matrix. Checked coolant totally drained. Internal passengers carpet soaked.....Will replace all teh hoses with the new samco's and at teh same time fit the Gruvenparts.....busy weekends for me....
  4. toon vw Nearly fell off the seat when I read you've sold the vr....you should have got yourself a set of recaro leather heated seats for the Vr6 then you'd have been sorted  Anyway good luck with the new one it looks a beutiful car.....I nearly bought a golf 4motion a few years ago with delivery miles on it, with same gorgeous leather interior as your car from a certain stealer's up here called Mr Clark but had to refuse at £19K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (although the missus did say "buy-it"; she doesn't appreciate money but appreciates good cars!!). Instead I bought a VW polo tdi and a Vr6 to make up for the disappointment of my lack of courage....anyway enjoy the new car and whoever is buying the vr is getting a lovely car with great seats :D
  5. I sent off a few speculative emails to some suppliers requesting prices etc? I f I get some decent prices I let the forum know. Any idea hwo much the VW kit is???
  6. Anyone know suppliers of wheel bearing kit VKBA529 by SKF. Either internet suppliers or local to Glasgow???? Thanks in advance
  7. Car passed another MOT today...advisory note to say that the rear wheel bearing is showing signs of play....will get the bearings ordered up for both sides and then its the coolant overhaul...new purple samco hoses and the gruvenparts to be fitted...
  8. Defo...If my car ever gets resprayed it's this colour....was this colour available in the UK????

  10. Think my drivers handle is on the way out takes two attempts to open the door( first attempt everything seems to flex and feels sloppy ). DO I need the kit
  11. thetino the backlights are working when I switch the lights on......but th guage reading (volts and pressure read zero). I also noticed whe nthe indicators are on the volt guage reduces noticeably when on???/
  12. Took a feed direct to the gearbox earth connection and still the same problem persists...
  13. Ahhhhhh....Changed the position of the earth and permenant live ( connected both into the feeds to the glovebox light) still reading zero when lights switched on.....the illumination is connected to the cigarette lighter (blue/grey wire) ......
  14. Use a Golf mk2 switch......
  15. Dual pole Sender installed in the "bottom-right" hand sender. Use a deep 24mm socket with extender bar to remove existing single pole sender. Fit new dual pole sender---connect wired---job done!!!!!!! lpf33---probs still with lights when they are switched on---everything reads zero....
  16. Agree with Fla...Buy the golf MK2 switch....I did the repair using the kit sold by the bloke on the forum lasted about 6 months before breaking up again...repaired again, three months later now the switch is completely shot....Bought a mk2 switch and it blends in well albeit, it doesn't light up.....who cares...I'm looking at fitting a buzzer to warn me about lights being left on as this a better warning than a poxy dim light on the original switch....
  17. Jimmi any joy in finding that piece of paper with the details????
  18. Could the sensor be wet/damp...previous posts show this as a cause of this light coming on....happened to me recently during the bad weather spell Stuck it inthe garage for a week all dried out and no return of the dim light!!!
  19. Put some redex in the fuel....my old man used to put it in his old cars I think it was more of a pre-MOT ritual though.....TBH I seem to find myself putting it in my cars leading upto MOT time now !!!!!!
  20. I uused early window switches and wher the mirro switch goes installed a tweeter and on teh right hand side cut a hole in the card to fit the matching tweeter.....If leather right hand drive cards come up at the right price then I'll do the swapp but IMHO there isn't a lot in it!!!!!!!!
  21. Goldie could you post a picture of the dual pole pressure sender on the oil filter housing??
  22. Having a few problems wiring these guages......wired as vr6storm says in an other thread....however without connecting the oil pressure sender, the volt meter reads as should i.e 12-14volt when the engine is on but the oil pressure guage goes off the scale 10+ (and it's not wired). When I switch on the lights guage illuminates but volts drop off to 0 and oil pressure guage returns to 0 as well.....Is this a faulty earth connection....+12v live connected into stereo live permenant feed and inition live connected into the lighter feed....and does anyone have a picture of the dual pole oil pressure installed?? Any suggestions????
