  2. Looking at the views 30 of you have looked (ok some have been me re-looking) but take a chance if you are free this weekend; it's a good venue and the people put it into a must go to show. We aren't bothered about how the Corrado looks, it's the get together that makes the weekend. To quote Delia Smith "Let's be ave'ing you". What have you got to lose; OK a wasted weekend, never to be repeated. Sign up now.
  3. Been on here for a few years and created threads for each of the Corrado's that I have owned but I seem to have let them all lapse, so I have decided to place them all in one thread. So here goes: Corrado ownership arrived with me on 6 April 1999 having bought a never seen Corrado VR6 in blackberry with 95K on the clock. It had been a trade-in at the Renault dealers where my brother was working. On the 14 April I paid him the £7500 and my Corrado obsession commenced. She is still with me but in a forlorn state (more about that later) but will return to the roads (fingers crossed) in the near future. Anyhow 303 has been a very good car and has covered about 80k so far under my ownership. The car has a wonderful history (including every receipt / MOT / Tax Discs all neatly contained in a huge A4 folder. This is one of the earliest pictures taken along with my Mk2 Golf GTi more door On her own stealing the limelight. Taken in April 2002, 3 years ownership and sitting on her recently acquired wolfrace racelite 16 inch alloys. (apologies for the poor quality on these initial photo's but they where scanned today from proper photographs from vistaprint (remember them)) between buying her in 1999 and 2004 she was regularly serviced by VW in Swindon and Cirencester. In 2004 my sister's boyfriend took over looking after her and a prolonged stay in North Wales (for the car not me)he set about doing the head / timing chains etc. In June 2003 she stopped being the main car for everything as I had purchased this: New from Skoda seen here on an early outing trying to get the first 500 miles out of the way so we could run her in. She is still with us 13 years later, FSH and 95K on the clock.....been an excellant car and other than routine servicing nothing major has gone wrong. Anyway back to 303. A few more photo's through the years. In Sept 10 having spoken to Fay (Scarlet_VR6) at an earlier meet 303 went to DG Autotech to get fettled with to bring the ride quality back. They fitted R32 wishbone bushes, Track rods & ends, 288mm brake discs, ARB drop links, ball joints etc etc. The transformation was excellent. On an outing in the car Dave did have a mishap though. that's a blow out......... back at home after the transformation, while it was up at DG on the original speedlines I had taken the wolfrace alloys for a refurb ready for tyres back on 303 and sporting her new stance. Last few pics on 303 including the ones taken yesterday showing the sadness as she hasn't moved for nearly 2 years..... getting cleaned after an attack; a flock of sparrows carpet bombed the fleet Is that another Corrado I see - (her review next) gotta love reflections and yesterdays photo's.......she will see the road again, as I cannot get rid; just need Car SOS, Wheeler Dealers or For the Love of Cars mechanic to come to the rescue.
  4. Dubs Mania and Retro Car Mania at Weston Park, Shropshire, TF11 8LE. 4TH AND 5TH JUNE 2016 20 x Car Club Stand Requested We always seem to struggle to fill a stand for this show and I really can't understand why :-? It is in a fantastic location, has a bloody good mix of cars with the addition of the Retro Mania, there is free camping and the entrance fee is only £15 for the weekend or £10 for the Sunday only. There are early bird tickets available on the website http://www.bus-types.co.uk/DM-Home/dm-home.html We had a good turnout last year but it would be even better if I could tempt some more of you along this year. Link to last years, check out the pics who doesn't love a droop snoot Mk2 Escort - viewtopic.php?f=130&t=42237&start=20 MK2 Golf OC Show Blog - http://www.vwgolfmk2.co.uk/dubs-mania-6 ... june-2015/ IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN TO THIS SHOW THEN YOU ARE MISSING OUT Okay Folks, if you have looked at the pictures the banner shows my Corrado and she appears towards the end of the pictures. As above; my brother has twenty passes for the Golf Mk2 stand but is offering up 5 places to any Corrado owners that would like to take them. I am usually tagged onto this club at most shows, as not many Corrado's seem to attend some shows on the official CCGB. Non at Tatton last year for example. This isn't a dig at anyone, I'm just stating a fact. So as he's my brother I tend to attach myself to their stand. We are going to be camping there so if you coming, give us your name and Corrado flavour and I'll pass them on to my brother.
  5. I've just purchased 4 x DunlopSportMaxx RT2 in 205/40/17 for Meld from Formula1 centre in Swindon and I have to say they feel a damn good tyre. Feel soft so the fronts might wear quite quickly on the VR but as it's the occasional driver they should last a few years.
  6. I know but since I haven't seen yours and vice versa I think we are safe
  7. My godson has just texted me, he has seen a Blackberry VR6 on Quarry road in Swindon with the special number plate VRS 1X (nearly bought that plate years ago). Anyone on here?
  8. I second the mk1 Octavia, had one from new and still going well with 95000 miles on the clock. It is a brilliant car and does everything so well; such a workhorse and an excellent folly for the corrado. I've had mine chipped which gave it a new lease of life. Minor repairs during my ownership and; at the price you can pick them up, a steal. Granted the interior fabric is rubbish, but hey, the drive will make you smile
  9. I remember you enquiring about my car which was for sale at the time 4x4 blackberry turbo and when you mailed to say you had bought this well, I knew you had got the best. I believe the price is right it will like all highly modded cars take time to sell. Good luck with the sale, still got the B2 RS4. If I owned a garage I might of had sleepless night debating buy or not to buy.

    Interior Roof Lining

Thanks Tom for the quick reply look forward to the pictures
  12. Fabric on roof lining started to peel so I have tried to repair but it still keeps peeling off even though I tried taking all the old glue off so I am after a good replacement. Anyone out there got a good condition grey one. Pictures and price would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

    Red Baron

Nice to bump into you on Saturday at Weston Park, I'd agree with your comments the car does look very nice indeed, and the recaros well (stunning). Will watch the progress and hopefully bump into you again on the circuit; tatton probably
  14. Took Meld out of her winter cover. Both Corrados have been off road for about 6 months, the original due to a heater matrix failure and not using it daily. I had taken both batteries out so on Thursday after both had been charged, I went out to what I thought would be a straight forward task............opened the original and pulled the bonnet release and only one side opened. Eventually managed to open by removing grille and locating wire and pulling..........fitted battery and started first time yippee. Now to fit Melds battery and, yep you guest it the same thing happened with her bonnet but this time I think I have stretched the wire too far. What a day; who'd have thought fitting 2 batteries would take a few hours. On plus side bought new handbrake trim cover from VW heritage and snagged a pristine condition gearknob from ebay
  15. You may well see mine now she has just been tax'd today ready for a wheel refurb before Stanford Hall on 3rd May. My original has now been sorn and :-( may never see the road again
  16. Top job.........nice to see people still have kind hearts.....big shout out to Paul for allowing the forum these. Do we know where his garage is located, that said can he service a corrado now we have these
  17. I'd probably be up for this........I enjoyed the one I went to a few years ago, even if I found out 303 was slightly under power on the day. It would be nice to see how the new one fairs.....might even come up in the TTS if Corrado under cover by then, but I doubt she will be......
  18. Just seen it, shame they didn't give our great car more of a billing. Maybe one day we will see her on the classic car show with Wilson and Kidd........God help us; watching the first season of this, there is no way I would want Kidd presenting 'Top Gear'. That said, she portrays her surname
  19. I don't usually see many Corrado's when I'm on my trips but last Friday went out with brother-in-law and well I never. Sometime between 8-9 am travelling on the A429 towards Chippenham. We had just gone past Malmesbury and a Red (tidy) Corrado went past, could catch flavour then about 1/2 dozen cars later a Blue one. Later on in the day near Failand, Brisol another blue (sure that was a VR). Then to cap it all going through Melsham towards Chippenham on the A350 one of the last houses on the right had a Corrado in the drive next to a Black Golf MK1 (very, very tidy). I recognised the number plate from shows I'd been too. 4 in one day - result.

    DG Autotech

I was a regular customer to Graham's. All my fleet were taken up to him throughout the year, both Corrado's and the VRS for all work. I knew he was looking at other opportunities as the money and rewards were making him hate the job. 303 heater matrix went and I had lined up to go in the new year. Various text, calls and emails were sent and I did not receive anything back. I don't mind him closing up and trying a new venture, if it is not making you happy and providing you with a half decent income, then why do it. What I'm a little annoyed about is, I at least thought I'd get a message of some sort to tell me the situation
  21. Matt Sorry to hear the time has come for you to sell the beast. I did write car but memories never go. I am glad you have enjoyed her over the years and the last video; well it is bloody brilliant, talented guys, they have really made 'purple aki' look a million dollars and she is worth all of that. I hope like you and I she is handed over to another enthusiast that will once more enlighten us with their exploits with the car that wins so many hearts.........is this the end of Corrado ownership for you now?
  22. Unfortunately I cannot make the stand Meld still with Graham(DG) I am still going but I will be on the Golf mk2 stand in another car
  23. I'm there for about 0900ish spent the day cleaning 303 so if you don't mind looking at her from 50 ft away I'll be happy. I think she looks clean from that distance anywhere nearer she looks rough. Nick if you haven't got a pass Bragg your way in. It would be good to semi fill the stand. Faye it's about time we met up. I have sarnies
  24. Agreed with all the comments on the stand thing. I'll be in the original and there are more scratches, dents, things fallen off but polished it looks ok from afar. At least on the club stand no one else will hit it. Ideally it would be the new one but at DG, where I believe Jim's is.
