  1. Wrong size glass. I'll put this morning down as a test run and fit the right size next weekend! Arrrhh.... Eurocarparts you're so good to me?

    VW Green Paint Code?

....the colour I previously used was correct. Could anyone tell me what colour primer was originally used on the Corrado? I used a white undercoat, perhaps a darker primer will help me get a 100% match?
  3. £20 for a pair? Oh, bugger!
  4. Eurocarparts Hella lens £26.44 There was a bit of confusion (Always is in ECP!) Bloke seemed to think that Corrados manufactured before 1991 have to buy a complete headlight and those after 1991 could buy replacement glass? My car is on a H-plate 1991. Mmmm! Got one anyway, I'll try and fit it tomorrow morning.
  5. Ah! Thanks everyone.......I didn't realise you could buy just the glass! (Hadn't even considered it was available!) Thought It was gonna cost me loads! So how much is just the lens?
  6. After many miles my headlights now need replacing. Does anyone know if a Passat's headlights are the same as a Corrado's? The price difference is nearly half! If not, who has the most competitive prices? Would it be GPC in Luton? I might also buy new fogs and indicator lens', as these are also cracked and looking old.

    VW Green Paint Code?

Green Pearl Effect LC6V it is then! Many thanks! Give me a couple of weekends of nice weather and I'll post some before and after pics of the debadged rear of my car!
  8. I had a small aerosol can of paint mixed a year or two ago. This was mixed by a car paint specialist (reading his own colour swatches :VW C6V Green Perl C13-247). I made the small repair to my bumper and it looked good, apart from in bright sunlight it looks a bit, well....bluey/green! It's only noticeable to me and to those I point it out to. Does anyone have the propor VW paint code (Dragon green)? .....I will be buying paint this time, not an aerosol. Looked in the boot and have the code LC6V?
  9. Speakers In! No alterations needed, sound ok (no better, no worse than the originals) Alpine APSXE4625S 6"X4" 150 Watt Peak Power (20 Watts RMS) £33
  10. I don't mind making small alterations to the mountings, I was already prepared to do that for the JBL's.
  11. No JBL's! I've phoned all the Halfords stores near me and there's none left, but I have ordered some Alpine 4"x6" speakers from Braybrooks car audio in Hertford. It's part of Alpines new range £39 a pair and they should fit without any alteration to the original Corrado mounting....result!
  12. Thank you! Are JBL a good make? I have a Pioneer stereo- http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product ... 2381&tab=2. I'm not that clued up on whats what, I take it I should buy 50 watt speakers? Is there a standard impedance for car stereos? Or do I not need to know!
  13. Finally the rear original speakers on my car have given up (They did put up a decent fight for a long time!) I've asked VW about standard speakers and they said £33 each? (VW Bloke had no details about size or power of the speakers) Can I buy replacement speakers of the same size that will fit into the original mounting? What size speakers do I buy? I don't want to start cutting holes in the parcel shelf (my car looks totally original)
  14. I love visiting the Corrado forum, reading users coments and opinions. But what a disapointment when I try and view a members profile? Nothing about their car, maybe just a small photo? The time and effort we all put into our cars should be shared! What mods and what spec is your car? Go on it'll only take a second to adjust your details and I am sure you''ll be more than proud to tell all!
  15. M-reg diesel Golf V's Honda NSX! NOS was fitted by Wizard of Noz. The Golf put up quite a fight, what would fitting nos do for my 1.8 16V Corrado? I've never even considered this mod before, can it be applied to the Corrado? What sort of performance could I see? Would the car need anything else fitted like an oil cooler? Would it just trash the car!
  16. I'm probably gonna go with Grant Motor Sport! They are keen to do the work and after reading posts here and on other web sites, sound friendly and trust worthy! Phil: I'm not mechanically hands on but I do read (and look at pictures!) on the internet, I found this page on DIY porting. If I had the tools, space and time it looks like a good project to try! http://www.sa-motorsports.com/diyport.htm
  17. Whoops I see your point! Its my arm.... :D
  18. Never approached stealth - hows their prices compare
  19. I read about the Single butterfly throttle, could prove to make the car a bit thirsty. I drive 25miles to work each day, petrol money soon adds up over a month!
  20. I have a 1991 1.8 16v (KR) Corrado. I’ve been looking to squeeze a few more bhp out of the old girl. I’ve had my Corrado for nearly 5 years and feel she has a few more miles left in her! Can you please recommend (your personal opinion) where I should get my car customised? I have talked to TSR about there Pack A Head work package (165bhp), complete price £1393. And will be calling Stealth later today. Or, could you recommend any other garages closer to the Hertfordshire (North London) area? I understand it’s a lot of money, but I think the car is worth spending it on. Any replies (opinions) will be greatly appreciated.
  21. Just checked the Larkspeed web site, your right £375.00 for the kit. I spoke to Paul at Larkspeed earlier, he must have made a mistake with my quote?
  22. Oh dear! Total rethink after finding out the price of the Koni shocks. £360 + £170 for the H&R springs (£415 complete Koni kit)......Gonna go original VW, well they have lasted 13 years! Just read a link on the forum about replacing VR6 Shocks for original VW parts. Would the VR6 SACHS gas shocks fit my 1991 16V? I just got a quote from VW Wayside St. Albans and the VR6 rear gas are £36.43 each compared to the standard 16v rears at £43.48 each. IWould I be right in thinking the gas shocks would offer a slightly firmer ride compared to 16V oil filled shocks?
  23. Ok! The car is getting a complete suspension overhall. I'm going for a set of Koni shocks and H and R springs with some new VW Bump Stops. Any ideas where I can get a good price on the Koni shocks and who stocks H and R springs? Oh, and is there anything else I should supply my mechanic? Thanks for all your suggestions and help Mr Smiff
  24. I agree with "scruffydubbers" Avon make some good tyres try the ZV1 soft compound tyre or if you can afford them a set of ZZ1. Interesting link.... http://www.newscientist.com/lastword/ar ... p?id=lw938
  25. I'm a bit confused, what do I need? What do I want? I have a 1991 1.8 16V (Baby of the bunch) Corrado. She is riding on original wheels and the original suspension set up. When asking about renewing the dampers my mechanic advised me to also replace the "Bump Stops" (Worth doing while working on this part of the car, "fair enough") :Powerflex Bump Stop Kit £19.95. The car definetly needs new rear dampers, but should I go all the way and replace the original springs? Should I buy an after market kit for the whole car, dampers and springs? What price, what make? Adding to my confusion! I searched the forum and found information on lowering the car. It does look a bit high, "4x4" was mentioned! All Corrados featured on the site look really good lowered. (A good pair of jeans sitting on smart trainers). I would like my car to sit a little lower, but not too much, as driving to work each day I encounter 50 or so speed bumps and untold pot holes. Can you please help me narrow down my options? How much will it cost me?
