Finally Sorted. Calipers from TSR- Mk4 Golf + Goodridge hoses (£180) New disks, pads, wheel bearings, cables, and labour (£250) Mmmmm! A bit much! ........will the bills ever stop!

I've just looked at the step by step airbox drilling instructions at http://www.kf010a4571.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ (Suggested by Fat Tony) It seems straight forward, however there is no mention how the engine will adjust petrol/air mixture after increasing the airflow? Would you uprate the airflow meter, or ECU? There is only so much room for combustion! ???? Confused! :?

Further to the earlier questions regarding induction kits on 16v. Has anybody fitted a Stroeve - (unique) induction kit? What results were acheived, and how does it compare to DIY hole drilling?

Thank you for your answer. The problem lies just with the rev counter, I have not noticed any ill effect on the engine, and the speedometer is fine. At low speed it is okay, but when sitting at a constant speed (on the motorway) it predictably jumps about! Where is the circuit located, is it easy to replace? Perhaps a service and a quick check of all the connections might help! smiffy

I've been talking to TSR and they sell a Mk4 kit, £180 including hoses and fittings. Mmmmm........I'm still undecided! MK4s are Alloy and are less prone to sticking! ECP - Mk4 are £140 a pair +surcharge on each caliper.......Mmmmm!!!!

16V 1.8 1991. Only between 2000 and 3000rpm my rev counter is flicking about! I have not yet noticed any performance problems, but it is bugging the hell out of me, I keep catching sight of it in the corner of my eye. I think it mainly happens when the car is just cruising about 60mph. Maybe it has always done this! Could the jets need cleaning? Like everything on a car nothing ever gets better......... Any ideas???

To corradog60supercharged Hello mate What type of Calipers can you get hold of? After reading the rest of the replys, Im now not sure if the mark4 calipers will fit? I was going to get some Goodridge hose's anyway!

Thanks Rado16v "ECP" This is Euro Car Parts? I just called them, bloke was shite, he had no idea! Maybe I will call back later! Have you any idea of a part number? Or price?

Sounds about right. I paid nearly £400 (VW Specialist). When they did this job I also had the engine skimmed and helicoiled and replaced the timing chain and cam belt. Considering my car has done 92,000 miles it now runs like new, Im very pleased with the results.

Can anyone please recommend a make of rear calipers for my corrado. I replaced the pair about 18months ago with original VW parts.....one has already failed! I've been told I can fit mark3 Golf GTI calipers (only as a pair). C+R Enterprises sell mark3's for about £60each. Are they any good? I don't really want to spend too much, as it cost me nearly £300 last time!

After two separate visits to the garage, and the problem quickly getting worse, we finally tracked down the cause! A small crack in the air-intake pipe (between the air filter and the throttle switch) The engine was getting too much air!

My 1.8 16v (baby) corrado is kangarooing like a cat on a hot tin roof. This is happening between 1500 and 2000 rpm in both first and second gear. It is fine in higher gears and idles ok at 1000rpm. It has been suggested the 'Throttle Switch' could be failing? As precaution I have also bought some new   ht leads which I have yet to fit. Any ideas? (great web site, lets keep the corrado alive!)
