Oh dear, oh dear! You have a Corrado, not a jazzed up Punto, When I visit this forum I read interesting questions from like minded Corrado enthusiasts. I’m totally shocked to read a post about flames? Fair enough improve on handling and performance, maybe even add a few practical contempory mods. But please, no flames! I hope for all VW devotees you reconsider this stupid idea! Maybe I don’t speak for all of us? But I don’t buy Maxpower or Redline and until I do I will laugh in the face of twats who drive cars with flames licking their bumpers. If driven right your VR6 has more than enough grunt and sports handling to out perform any Punto. If you do decide on buying a flame kit, why not go the whole hog, have some flames airbrushed on the bonnet, and get some neon under lights, and those blue lights on your washer jets? Cool, well cool!....Mock it?

Looking at the other pics on the evolutionsports site, they sell the lights as 'euro style'. Check this link, it's a slightly different car but these headlights look standard...... https://www.evolutionsports.com/product ... 1#bigImage

Thank you everyone for your input! (Musicman you really do need to get out more!- thanks for your help) I've just ordered the Pioneer unit (£229 from caraudiodirect) Any AAC files I now download will be converted to the Mp3 format in iTunes4 when I burn my discs. iTunes has a burn Mp3 disc option (as do most disc burning software). I've also found some software to retrieve/burn tracks from your ipod!!!!..."Alan and Rick, lock up your pods!" Thanks

I've just read loads of CD/MP3 player reviews, and agree the Pioneer (Model: PIO-DEHP77MP) has plenty of features, looks understated and is reasonably priced. Does anybody know if MP3 players can play AAC files? The Pioneer is compatitble with both WMA/MP3, but Im not sure about AAC? What do you think? You can read a quick overview on AAC files here.......... http://www.apple.com/itunes/overview.html

For ages my car has stunk of petrol. When my car is running and when I turn it off. Where is this "Fuel rail pipe"
-
ok! Thanks for the answer.

Ah! I've seen them. So have you replaced these in the past, (before your new design made of metal)? Is it easy or (as I imagine) a pain in the arse?

My passenger window sometimes (not everytime) doesn't make it to the top position? When checking it out, (not sure how long it's been like this!) I placed my hands on the window, (When fully closed) I applied a little pressure and to my suprise it opened by about an inch! (Easily enough room to help a thief break in!!) I've previously looked at the inside of my doors, and it seemed a bit tight for any kind of adjustment? Any Ideas? How much left and right play should the window have when half open? Mines about 1-2inches each way??? Left and right?

All sorted. My local vw expert suggested replacing the ignition swith. He said he had replaced quite a few on vw's over the years. Its not uncommon to need replacing on a car with over 100k miles on the clock. Switch £11.50 + 1 hours labour. :D

No, I haven't noticed any strange dash lights. Was it easy to repair the indicator lever? Did you get hold of new vw parts?
-
Ah ha! The cigarette lighter and the passenger mirror light have not worked for years! The stereo works (I do not have an amp) Are the indicator relays within the steering column, or the fuse box?
-
No not me! I did search the forum and found nothing?
-
Has anyone else experienced this? About to go home from work last night, I put my key into the ignition and turned it to it's first stop (Dash lights on) But before I could turn over the starter motor, a small whisp of white smoke lingered up from behind the steering wheel? After initial panic (is the car gonna catch fire?....wish I had a fire extinguisher!....) I left it for a few seconds and started the car, it seemed ok! (The amount of smoke was less than from a burning cigarette, but did smell of burning plastic) When I got home I took the whole column apart and cleaned and hoovered all the electrics, there was a lot of dust and fluff, but no sign of any burnt or even scorched wires? On my way to work this morning. (After the car had started fine and with no evidence of smoke) Hacking down the motorway I look down and see a very faint trace of smoke? Will she catch fire? Can anybody suggest what else I should check, I must have missed something?

Can anyone please tell me what K&N panel filter fits my car? I no longer trust the staff in my local Eurocarparts, what ever I buy I have to return and change! Wrong size, wrong code, wrong colour....you get the idea! I did read on the forum that some members found the K&N filter made no noticable performance difference! But I do need a new filter, and hey, £40 is cheap! + I love spending my money on car!!!!!

It was some time ago I wrote about this problem. On examination of the car I found the fuse box full of water! I had no idea where the water had come from, but the windscreen seemed a good starting point. After having the windscreen replaced the fuse box dried out and has stayed dry ever since. The rev counter now works fine! I don't know if it was connected but for £50 excess on my insurance, job done! (Oh! - having a new screen is priceless compared to the original 10 year old scratched and hazy screen I had before)

What is the procedure for cleaning / conditioning the fuel injection system on 1.8 16V engine? O-rings? Nozzels? Jets? -Trip to a specialist? (Not just using jet cleaner in petrol! - I do this occasionally) Is it a big job? Or is there a regular easy routine that anyone uses for keeping their car running smooth?
-
shes playing up....and slowly getting worse... I recently used some injector treatment, and was pretty impressed with the results but it seems this did not cure the problem, the car did and still does feel more responsive, but.....deep breath....when she is first fired up (from cold only) she struggles (sort of like a cough!) then she clears......hack up the motorway.....stop in traffic and then she misfires (misfire is probably the wrong word, as a misfire would happen all the time?) It seems once the blockage/cough/lack of power is cleared she runs really well? If I drop down from fourth to third and floor her she takes a second or so to agree to keep going! Any ideas? Can anyone tell me how the warm up regulator/cold start injector works? Where are they located? Any help would truly be appreciated.

I might replace the plugs this coming weekend. I did have new ones when my headgasket was replaced only about 8months ago, they should last a lot longer! I also bought new leads (flame thrower blues) What after market plugs are recommended for 1.8 16V (Not too expensive) ????
-
Is there anything else recommended for engine cleaning on the 16V? Might just try Nitrox! I thought I might need some treatment on my jets, they've been giving me jip!
-
http://www.10kboost.com/applic.htm Just had a look at 10kboost application. Step2. Disconnect air intake as close to inlet manifold or Turbo-charger as possible. How close can you get to the inlet manifold on a 1.8 16V ?? Will this be after the airfilter/airbox ???

What a good idea? Just looked here > http://www.motormania.co.uk/product_det ... DescID=186 Sounds like its worth a try! After my misfire problem at the beginning of the week, which has now cleared up! (I believe it was down to crap fuel) This might clean it out?

Driving home Saturday morning my car felt as lumpy as I did. I had hardly any power, just enough to get home. Saturday afternoon checked all pipes, connections and leads, nothing out of place. Tried the car again and she was fine! Monday morning lumpy as rice pudding! But I did manage to get to work. Monday evening I started her up drove a few miles in traffic misfiring with a flat spot at 2000rpm. On the motorway I slowly gained speed and at 80mph she suddenly opened up and was fine?? There is still a little misfire at low speed. Will it get worse? Bad petrol? Blocked Jets? Any tips on when or how to clean Jets?

Small scratch that needed retouching is now "f **k ** f" large scratch. Twice in two days, bloody company car park. Anyone know of a good bodyshop in the Hertford area?
-
Many thanks for your answers. Where do I buy proper paint (2 pack) and hardner from + does a VW main dealer sell it? cheers

I would like to retouch some scratches on my car, can you tell me if I can use thinned touch-up paint in my airbrush? What do I thin it with (ratio) ?? Any tips?
