Just a quick update. I have managed to change the matrix. It's not that bad when you get into it, just fiddly as feck to put it back together. I'll put up for sale next week. :pukeright: :pukeleft: Getting ill just thinking about it.

I did for a high end unit with matching amps. The one thing with Alpine is that some of the lower end units are very basic. Good but basic. I've always loved Kenwoods though. Have you thought about Clarion, they make good quality head units?
-
Yep, gotta be Alpine. I've always had Kenwoods. Thought they were excellent. When I last upgraded I got an Alpline. The build and sound are really good.

Hiya guys and girls. Replacing my matrix today. I've got everything apart. I can't find the 2x10mm bolts in the scuttle panel. 2x 10mm nuts in the scuttle panel (dont need to remove ecu or wiper mech)???????????? HELP

Mine been sitting for about 4 days without being touched. The carpet feels slightly damp. Gonna have to tear it apart I guess. Mine's going up for sale as soon as this is done as well. Gotta get something more practical apparently(4 doors).

Sorry for the late reply, not been near the car all week. The coolant level has dropped slightly. Just below the minimum level. Could it be something other than the heater matrix??
-
Felt dry but I did stop the car as soon as it started steaming up and then left the windows open to help clear it out. Time to hit the how to's then. Cheers.

Driving home this afternoon I couldn't help but notice the car was blowing hot air from the vents when I had it turned to cold. Go me thinking what could be wrong the switch, is it not lined up correctly etc..... About 5 mins later I happen to spot my windscreen atardting to mist up a bit! Suprising to say the least as the windows were open! Then to top it off, steam starts pouring out of the dashboard vents! Not your everyday problem. Luckily I just pulling onto my driveway. I shut the car off and popped the bonnet only to iscover nothing amiss. Is this my heater matrix saying bye bye or something else not wanting to work. Any ideas guys and girls??? Steve.

I spent my Sat night promoting my club night. Went very well, sold the place out. Only a little bit of hassle. Roll on next month.

Not quite my style. I'll go for option (f)

I've always liked the white MO's. Mmmm... nice

Didn't like at all in person. Saw the golf at inters and although it was done well, just not my cup of tea.

I've ordered new discs and pads for the car today. toyed with putting on my new grill and adjusted the rear lights a bit. Yep, not much at all. tomorrow I'll be mostly fitting brakes and hopefully my grill.

That's the truth. I fried the dash on my m3 escort with some dodgy stereo wiring only a few months after I got it. I was gutted at the time. Makes me laugh now.
-
Welcome o the forum mate. Hope the service sorts it out.
-
Yeah they didn't make much effort to put it out, is that what happens when you put that many gauges on your dash? I must say the choice of song made me smile.
-
Oh yeah, tried GSF earlier and they don't stock VR6 cats. Just any other type of C!!!
-
Thanks guys. I'll try the for sale section. Wasn't sure if it was worth getting a second hand one. Same problem would happen again?? If I put in a cat replacement pipe and get a second hand cat for MOT's it won't be too bad.
-
Not really sure where to put this?? The C in with the stealers for it's annual stamp in the book. As usual I expected the worse, as usual they delivered. They have told me my cat needs replacing. They quoted my £900 pounds and pence plus VAT to do this. :( After picking myself up off the ground I told them to hold off replacing it. Can anyone give me any help on where to source a new cat? :?: By the way it's for 93 VR6. Steve. :(

I always thought the 944 was a turbo and the 924 was non turbo. Can't be sure although I remember reading it somewhere.

Cutting out plate recess and meshing or flushing ?
pimp replied to BigTartanJudge's topic in Exterior
I've flushed my bumper. Think it looks nice. I relocated the plate underneath. I've bolted two L brakets to the plate a cable tied them to the lower bumper. Probably dosn't help cooling though. Looks nice IMO. Just goota get an eyebrow or something for the front now. -
Thanks. On the plus side it was off the road over winter. I was driving a M2 1100cc Fiesta while it was in though. Had some fun in it though, you'd be amazed at the places you can park a that size when you don't care about the paint work.

I found it. They are the vw and audi centre (told you they vw and audi only). Tel; 020 8594 7277 Address, Unit ABC, Lyon Business Park, River Road, Barking.

I agree on the grill. That's gonna go soonish. Not sure where I stand on getting smaller plates. I thought they had to be a certain size? All in 1300. They had the car for about 6 months as they were not happy with it. The handles took along to get right.
